Thanks for the inspiration all. I'm 340lbs and I absolutely FEAR loosing all of this weight with nothing but loose skin to show for it. I'm learning now about macros and nutrition. Best I can do now is just a dozen or so push ups and crunches followed by a jog on the treadmill at the gym in my apartment.
^^^This. Sometimes, your scale does more damage than good. I DO see what your saying, but unless your getting a DEXA scan every couple of days, you have to trust your mind and your eyes to see the small improvements. A tape measure may tell me that I have stayed the exact same in arm size over the past 3 months. That doesn't mean that I haven't made significant changes in that arm. The difference may SOUND minuscule, but if I gain lean mass in my arms from lifting and my arms are obviously leaning out (I can see more definition, vascularity, muscle striation starting to be visible) but the tape measure AND the scale say "No change here", how can we say there has been no progress?
I DO think that checking yourself weekly is good practice. But there does come a point in the weight loss journey where you have to start trusting yourself to KNOW when changes are happening. We all hit a point where it appears we have hit a plateau. But we may be gaining lean muscle mass at the same speed we are losing body fat and that is why the scale isn't changing.
If you rely solely on your numbers changing and not on the actual changes that you can SEE in the mirror... you're setting yourself up to fail.
I can only see the results from a month and a half because I don't have a scale in the place where I moved due to school. But... you know you're making progress when your one month old pants are big and they want to fall down from you, so it can be seen. ;)

I was 320 last year. Slow and steady is key.

I started at 242lbs and now I'm at 183lbs. Will I have loose skin? Maybe, but I look better, feel myself better and everything is way-way better than was before. I only regret 1 thing that I didn't started earlier. So go for it slow and steady! The first steps are always the hardest but once you'll get used to it, you'll love it I promise!

Thanks man and it was probally over the course of 3 years. Didnt do it in one shot. Had many ups and downs. I gained weight and lost weight multiple times throughout the years. I probally lost over 200 pounds in total haha. This past summer was the most strict i was with my diet and i managed to get down to a low enough weight for me to feel like i can finally bulk.

Excellent job! It was very wise not to let that fat stick to you during many years. The later you start, the more difficult it becomes.
