What is your height and starting/ending weight?
What is your height and starting/ending weight?
Height is 5'11, my highest weight was 220 lbs. In that picture i was between 210-215 lbs. I am 169 lbs now,
I have liked this motivational thread very much since the beginning – so here is my contribution :). Some years ago I got sick for a whole year and put on serious weight. Till then I was always in shape having normal weight, being sporty.
One day I took a back photo (the left one in my link) and was quite shocked how I looked, weighing already 91kg. That evening I woke up entirely and started my long journey. I picked up again weight lifting (had been doing this for many years prior to that time with several pauses inbetween) in the gym and never looked back – slowly losing weight because of also having a sweet tooth in addition that has been hard to control sometimes. But apart from that I changed my diet too, eating much healthier, plus I'm drinking solely tap water now, and it tastes delicious I might add :D.
So in the last four years I managed to lose pound after pound; and here I am now – at the moment weighing between 72kg and 74 kg.
The ultimate goal would be 68-70kg. But I’m in no rush :) - “Gut Ding will Weile haben!”, meaning in English: Good things need time!
Good luck to anybody who is still on his or her journey. And congratulations to those who have already reached their goals and very impressive so.

Good job on that. Physique looks kinda similar to mine in your before shot, but I'm 6'4" and 265.
Good job on that. Physique looks kinda similar to mine in your before shot, but I'm 6'4" and 265.
Just keep at it, the confidence boost is incredible. I feel different, and people treat me different. Remember you are the last to eee the results, I thought i looked the same, till I tried on clothes. Went from a 38 waist to a 31. Xl shirt to small or medium depending on brand. Thats when it hit me. You will make it brah.

Seeing your pics gives me the believe a bodyshape like mine can be changed :)
thanks!

thanks!
I researched, researched, and researched some more. Proper nutrition; macros, TDEE, simple and complex carbs. I tried the PSMF diet, but only could do 5 days. I figured my maintenance was around 2500, so I at at a 700-1000 deficit with no cheat meals. I was taking in about 1500-1800 calories a day. I gave up fast food, soda, candy, etc, and drank nothing but water. As for my routine, I started off doing starting strength and made good strength gains, but got bored of the program. Since I lifted in high school for football, muscle memory took over over, and within 1 and and half months, my squat went from 145x5 to 225x5, and my DL from 150 to 315. After SS I used a 5 day bro split, I wanted more volume, and since funner exercises made me look forward to going to the gym. That's the most important thing, having a routine that you look forward to going to the gym, not dreading it. As the pounds came off and my strength went up I went from doing negative pull-ups, to doing my first pull-up. Then before I realized it, I was doing 12 dead hangs.
I guess what I'm trying to say is find something you like to do. Set a goal weight. (Mine was 180. When 180 came I changed it to 170.) Find motivation, ask yourself why you want to do this, and when you feel like quitting remember how you feel when you look into the mirror. Read the nutrition stickies, and don't just change your diet, change your lifestyle. My family eats nothing but junk; chips, boxed frozen food, kfc, pizza etc. I never caved.
Eat below maintenance. Get a routine, and look at the progression, it's great being able to add weight each week, or do one more rep than last time. I am a big believer in HIIT (high intensity interval training) cardio. I did mine on a bike and elliptical. If you want it bad enough you will get it and let nothing stand in your way. I'll leave you with this.
"If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse."

You're so right, I like how my self-confidence went from 0 to a normal level and people really notice the difference faster than yourself. My waist went from 45 to around 33 - 32 and instead of XXL shirts I wear L or M and my waist is still goin down because the jeans which I've bought a month ago are starting to get big :D
Guys I'm new to body building. Please check out my picture in my gallery photos. Need to work on my chest. I need guidance.

Pretty damn good, which plan did you follow n supps for those abs?
Left pic is from 2010 and is pretty much the only fat pic I have left. Most of my before pics have unfortunately been deleted :( the right pic is just a few days ago! I'm currently prepping for my first Figure competition in July and finally got around to taking some updated progress pics. This side by side comparison means the most to me because I know I've worked on becoming a better person and I'm also the happiest I've ever been in my life. So it's not just a physical transformation but it's an overall. Inside and out. I can only hope to inspire a few people!

Question: Why do MANY people cover their face?
Question: Why do MANY people cover their face?
Its not very appropriate for a working grown adults to post half-naked pics of themselves on internet. Why do you cover your face with a cap and sunglasses smart ass?

It was a simple question... Your first sentence was quite enough. Way to be a douche bag...
Side note, I took that picture while on a long drive... I wear my cap to assist in holding my brain in... And it is VERY obvious why I wear sunglasses. The sun can kill you.
Great job to everyone in this whole thread! Theres some amazing and motivational progress up in this shiz
I do start today :)
Thanks to MoldyGopher and RRJ
I hope to do it right way.
My transformation: 3,2,1,0...GO!

Less calories and video games, more protein, water, sleep and lifting :P
Started my weight loss journey Jan 17 2014. I started off at 215 and am currently fluxing from 173-176. I Was sick and tired of always being fat and it finally hit a point where I was over it. Have been eating clean for the past 5 almost 6 months now. Nowhere near my goal but still a work in progress.
Had the hydrostatic under water body fat test done at the start and was at 25.8% bf last test was at 16.5% bf. Not sure how accurate that is though.
Also ignore the nasty a** mirror :]
Question: Why do MANY people cover their face?
At least if its like /r/malefashionadvice on Reddit, people tend to pixelate, cover their face because websites will steal the image to use on their sites. With a site like this, many images could be stolen for before/after ads for weight loss supplements.
This is me so far.
At the beginning of my ongoing journey I weighed in at 241lbs, my heaviest ever.
Today I weighed in at 200lbs, so a big 41lb drop. I'm 6ft1.
Still got more to go, but I'm heading in the right direction
my transformation over 2 and a bit years, this thread was a huge inspiration to me when i was first trying to lose weight some of the transformations in here are amazing!

hi, I want to share my transformation. I'm 16 years old, was overweight all my life (65kg at age 13 with a height of like 160cm)
I trained at home for 6 months, and at the gym for 4 months now. I did already lose much weight, but wanted to really have a fit body, so I decided to do a cut for 6 weeks. No excuses, no cheating. That's my result:
Nice work guys and girls
Good job everyone, looking forward to the day that i can post my progress to share with everyone else.
