Wow! That's nothing short of a shocking transformation, especially when you compare the 255 with the 193 one, they look like two different men. Very inspirational!
This is my first post btw, I have been reading these forums for quite some time now, but have never actually registered to make an account. But today is when I decided to make an account and start posting. I have recently started working out for the past 2 months or so in a relatively serious manner an am already seeing some results. I hope to draw inspiration and guidance from this community and all the wonderful members.
Good luck to everyone!

No but I do train a client on his street 3x a week, that count?
Hi everyone, this is my first post so I'm not sure If I am accidentally replying to someone or in general of the thread. This thread itself (First one too) got me into creating a account becuase it is unbelievably inspiring! to see all of you and keeps me motivated!.
I have a question though do you think any of you guys could either message me for some weight loss advice (specifically on deficits, as I am on one for 1500 cals a day) or direct me to active weight loss threads, there is just so much data, it's all very interesting but confusing.
I am 5'10, 239lbs (according to my scale) and on a 1500cal a day and I mostly run/walk on the treadmill 30mins everyday (It says I burn 127cals per 30mins) (I am not sure what my body fat is yet and I don't go to the gym so I do everything at home) I feel kind of intimidated to post but yeah I need constructive criticism as I am not losing weight anymore. I was 266.6 when I started back in Oct but by doing this I am 239, however I am not progressing anymore?
Aussie here, current picture I have is me at 78kg (171lb) 15% BF, lightest I've been in awhile, previously I was 90kg (198lb) 25%BF. I don't have any pictures from my 25% days because hell, I didn't want to take em lol. (Pic in profile)
I'm looking for advice on whether I should continue strength training or cut down on bodyfat first?
I'd really love advice as I'm kind of finding my way around everything...if you were where I am now, would you lose fat or go for muscle gain?
@ ZiegKnow
Have a look at some stuff on carb-cycling, also make sure you aren't under eating to achieve your goal faster. For me I lose weight by eating lots of lean protein, low carbs and healthy fats (in moderation). I find eating your baseline and exercising the weight off is the best approach to go for to keep muscle, but I'm a bit new, this is just what works for me. Lots of people I know have been trying to lose weight and have been starving themselves excessively to lose it faster.
9 months from the first pic till the most recent. Amazing progress on the other people's posts, makes me feel like I can lift the whole ****ing gym, serious motivation going on here!

Don't starve yourself, that's counter-productive. Do strength training WHILE you cut, you don't just have the chance to keep your muscle mass, you also have a chance to grow some! That's always a plus. Cut your bodyfat to like 10-12% And bulk from there, Good luck, bro.
Great progress man!
Thanks man.
Not sure if I should keep trying to cut or if I should bulk up first then cut before summer. Main thing I really want is to have a cut body for the summer.
I have the ****ties genetics you will ever find. If I look at food wrong, I pack on the pounds, always have and my before pics are proof of that imho. I have been on the Palumbo for about 28 weeks now, almost 7 months. It's going well, and in the last couple weeks I've had to tweak things as my body weight gets lower, but things are still coming along nicely.
I started at a ginormously ridiculous 370lbs. sigh....
I am currently 229lbs.
I hope to get to 200 and then figure out a way to do a clean bulk. I haven't had my bf done, but when I do I am sure I will need to cut it in half still and I am ok with that. My goal would be 12-15% bf someday. I can't wait to compare today's pic with my pic in a year from now! I hope I am still as motivated and excited as I am today. If I am, look out!
^^ you and i both^^...lol...
i can't really have cheat meals cause it'll definitely hinder any progress. i can gain 10lbs in one weekend and lose all by the end of the week. its so weird how the body works.
i always come here for motivation. good stuff folks..keep on posting for us who need the inspiration.

Same thing happens to me... but my cheat meals tend to turn into cheat days, so that is probably why... it does set me back, so lately I've quit cheating at all. I'm down to 168 now (5' 10"). I want to drop a few more pounds... then it's a clean bulk for me!

That's me too. I have my 6-10pm cheat meal per the Palumbo rules, but I don't think Palumbo realizes what I can do in that timeframe. ;) But I do generally drop it all (at least til recently) in the coming week. I lift 5x a week, and do cardio 6 days a week 2x a day (LISS of course), but still.
Good quote too.... the best things never come easy! I keep that in mind daily!
here's my 5 week winter transformation.

Stupidly not done *any* cardio or *any* lifting.... Simply diet.... 1800cal keto... Wonder how different i would have looked with 4 months cardio and lifting ? Kinda skiny fat now but still much happier.. although mentally im still a fat person... Anyone else had problems going from fat, with 'fat mental health' to slim and still carry over the 'fat mental health' ? how can I try and develop and change myself to have more self esteem, confidence etc.
keep at it guys[

I mean, is this even real? if it is, good for him and smh at me. I've been going to the gym since October 2010 and I don't look that good.
It's been posted by the person in question both here and on reddit. Last week I think.

Yes, it's real... he's in the old transformation from fat to fit thread... and he may have posted recently in this one too... but he's definitely in the "Part 1" thread.

Dude, you have plenty of time to start lifting. You have shed a ton of fat I am sure. Especially if you are using a keto. Sure, you may have lost some muscle, but now you can start a training program. Just remember, it's not a sprint, it's a marathon.
To answer your other question, HELL YES. One of the hardest parts about this "change" that we make. I HATE getting compliments. I know that sounds weird, but when I do get one, I feel awkward and then get angry. I may just be ****ed up. lmfao. I've gotten better about it, but I still see myself as the 370lb guy I was, and not the 229lb guy I am. I am stronger than I've ever been, and feel better than I ever have, but it still doesn't matter. I think part of it is not letting myself get "happy" with where I am at, because if I EVER do, then I will just fall back to who I was. Anyway, just my rambling. Keep working hard, it'll all be worth it!

Really inspiring stories here, keep it up!!
Nowhere near finished, but this thread is super inspiring!! This site is becoming a staple in my daily routine, as well as HDForums.
From 315 to 285 so far!!
I have been going to the gym for 9 months so far and have lost 60lbs and have increased my muscle and strength dramatically. I have to say by far this is the best decision I have ever made and never have any intentions of stopping.
So far this is the before and after of my progress, my starting weight was 355 and now I am down to 295 and still going strong, a long way to go but hey at least people don't compare me to Jonah Hill anymore haha!
wow congrats to all you guys that have lost big weight, i have one question maybe someone can pm me and answer, i am having trouble losing weight and really want some help any ones help would be appreciated
good **** bro keep up the work and now add some size to that
To everyone on here, you guys are a great inspiration, I hope I could end up with half of the results you guys have.
i was inspired by this thread. im down 30 pounds from 25%-15% bf... hopefully by the summer i can post some pics here, inspire some more people, and keep this thread going.
