My journey is still continuing. Original weight of 330 lbs. down to 224 lbs. I'm really self conscious about having loose skin after all this hard work, so for the past three months I've been bulking. Now back up to 254 lbs. but it is mostly muscle. Started my cut today, so hopefully in three months I'll look even better.

Here is some progress pics.
First picture from january around 310lbs
Second picture is today at 239lbs.
If you have any tips on getting rid of the chest fat they would be greatly appreciated.
I know ive still got a ways to go but im determined.
Thanks guys you all are a inspiration!
How do you avoid the loose skin?
I will be posting around February!
You can reduce the amount of loose skin you have my building muscle in other areas of your body, your legs for example, they're a big part of the body so if you build muscle there it will fill you out a bit more. There is nothing you can do about loose skin if you're losing weight very quickly, it will tighten over time :)
8 Months progress. Still going. You guys on this thread have been a huge inspiration to me.
Previously = 302lb; Not sure what bodyfat%. I'm guessing 40% roughly?
Current = 230lb; 24% bodyfat
Goal = 180lb; 10% bodyfat or lower
still working on it
225 first pic
now 162/165
All these transformations are very inspirational and as bad as this may sound its good to see I'm not the only one. Have been on a bit of a journey myself over the past 2 or so year. Down 25Kg but starting to struggle. I am going onto alternative methods to help speed up the process but that does not mean I work any less the natural way. Is there such a thing as too much exercise?

Before pictures taken in October 2011.
After, Taken... now!
Started at 200lbs (Thank you babies) now at 147lbs. Still a ways to go, but I'm getting there.
And for some reason, I can't upload my pics. Shoot! They are in my profile.

Thanks!! So far, I have worked a lot of my ass off. Now for the stubborn fat that is just sticking to me... I feel like the longer the fat has been on your body, the harder it is to get rid of.
Congrats,

Ok so another update from me, first want to say everyone is doing awesome, you guys pump me up all the time, and make me never want to quit. So my update I start at 350 and I weighed in earlier this week at 249 so that's more than 100lbs lost!!! I feel great but I have 49lbs to go. 200lbs is my goal weight, once I get there I can start cutting and trying to get rid of my loose skin by gaining more muscle. I'll post before and current pics. After pics will come soon enough, Thanks everybody. Would love feedback...

Thanks! I learned a ton from this site over the past year.
Hi guys, this post has been in the works for a long time.
In Fall of 2008, I was at around 365lbs-385lbs. The first picture in my collage is from Christmas Day, 2008. and I'm eating, imagine that. The rest of the pictures you see, are the last 4 years of my life, in a nutshell.
In May of 2009, I underwent a vertical banded gastroplasty. The next row of pictures are me, about 90lbs-100lbs down. The one of me and my son is actually Fall of 2009, so I was right around the 90lbs lost mark. The weight continued to fall off of me until around February of 2010.
In March of 2010, I decided I had to try and do it again, the old fashioned way. I went keto for about 6 months, and lost another 60-80lbs, down to my lowest weight of 209 (the suit picture). At this point, I realized that I was nice and skinny, and had met my weight goal, but I was totally dissapointed with my fitness level. With the encouragement of a close friend, and my family, I started working out. Slowly at first, mostly following Mike Mentzer's HIT routines. When I started, I was bench pressing about 115lbs for 8 reps. Squats were an abysmal 135x10, and Deadlifts were not even happening. After about 6 months, I worked my way up to 200lbs across the board on the big three. Wow, a whopping 600lb total.
2011 came around, and I saw many improvements. I started a small bulk, gained 19lbs and my squat immediately got much heavier to 315x5, and the deadlift as well, setting a personal best of 355. I was ecstatic. My bench didn't do much though, peaking around 215x8.
2012 started off well, with a new routine, and starting another keto diet. However my succcess was short lived, and I started to get recovery sickness every weekend. I was not eating enough to sustain my activity level, and I was extremely catabolic. It took me almost 2 months to break that cycle, and start eating right. From April to August, my bench press shot up to 290x5, along with my body weight, which peaked again at 248lbs. I decided in September that I should probably get leaner, so that's where I am now, slowly dropping a pound or two here and there. In October, 1 week after starting my new diet, I broke my previous deadlift PR by 50lbs, and got 405x3.
I've come a long way, and I have to credit this thread for a lot of my motivation!
Unfortunately, because of the 50 post minimum, you'll have to go to my bodyspace profile to see my collage of photos.
Take care, guys! And keep the awesome posts coming!

This is now from my show date on October 13th, 2012. weighed in the friday night at 180. the first pic was taken at 530am when i woke up to get cooking for the day. Im thinking i was down to about 175 at this point, almost completely dry, no pump or anything

And now this is from the prejudging, didn't place well at all in my division, i was extremely disappointed with that but overall i was pretty happy with the progress that i made in 2012.
