Thanks man, and it just takes time, can't go anywhere in life without patience and consistency. You'll be where I'm at soon, and even better.

How long you been at it?
How long you been at it?
About a year now, my only regret is that I messed around with my diet way too much, I didn't eat properly, I didn't know any better when I had first started and it took me a long time to get my act together. It just goes to show you how important diet is.
I have been eating clean and proper (Macros and 5-7 meals a day) for about 3-4 weeks straight now without any cheat meals (none so far) and I'm seeing some good transformation, whereas before that, I used to eat whatever and was extremely inconsistent.

I dont do macros yet, just eat under my cals, lowish carbs and hit 200g of carbs each day. I dont eat any crap (no sugar, saturated fats etc).

You're definitely progressing, just stick to a caloric deficit and you'll be fine, it's all calories in vs cals out. Are you lifting weights? or are you just dieting right now?

I looked at your progress photos in your profile and you commented in one of your photos that you eat 11 calories per body weight in lbs?
Don't you think that's too low?

Well, you're cutting at 1700 right now. I'm going at 1815 cals. and I weigh just about the same as you do. I actually thought it was too low at first but my recommended daily calorie intake is about 2500 cals/day. I guess doing a 700 cal deficit is a big jump, but I feel perfectly fine at the gym, not to mention I've been also sleeping like a log nowadays lol.
Thought this was kind of funny.
Dug up an old picture of me on the golf course, then one from last weekend on the golf course!

Dude, you have made an amazing transformation! (repped)
What's your exercise routine/split like?
Hello everyone, thanks for providing motivation.
here is my current progress (Pics attached), lifts in signature

Forever bulking now
Dude, you have made an amazing transformation! (repped)

Thanks man! I highly call it amazing until I get to my goal, but I appreciate it.
Like I said, at first, I didn't know what I was doing, my diet was inconsistent (not counting calories, not taking into account my macros, eating crap from time to time) but workouts were more or less the same, I also used to do 20 minutes of intense cardio. Just recently I've been eating right and working out even harder. I'm sorry to disappoint but, I don't really have a set workout routine now, I change it up ALL the time. I follow a 3 on 1 off split however, I have soccer on Thursdays so I always go to hell on Legs every Friday, but other than that, I go with what I feel.
If I feel like doing biceps on my chest day, I'll add biceps onto it, If I don't then I'll add biceps with my shoulders routine. I do abs every other day or 2 days. If I feel like doing a giant set, I'll go for it lol.
I just updated my program log on my bodyspace so you can check out how I do my workouts. Let me know if you need anything else, I'll be more than happy to help out.
Great job! Looking really great. lean and strong. And grats on running the NYC marathon!
Thanks man!
Lost 25 pounds in 70 days.
Anyone wanna give me an estimate on my body fat?
Feel free to friend me New to this site!
From 215lbs to 150lbs took about a year of proper nutrition, still have a long way to go.
Awesome thread, though I'd put my own pics up here. I've been working on my weight loss for about a year and half now.
I started at about 310 and now I'm down to 225.
March 2011 - 295ish I was too big to wear the actual race shirt. Ran a block and a half and had to limp the rest of the way

Another back shot - I gotta be honest, I really like the way that shirt makes my arms and back look. This was at like 235 or 240 or something still

Props to this thread and the people in it - some of your transformations are truly inspirational. Keep up the good work all
My Transformation before this site ( on 1650 Kcal/day + mostly HIIT and sports)
Decided my mind and body were not where I wanted them to be one morning. Became a non-smoker and got off my lazy ass and educated myself on nutrition and working out:
Start weight : ~200lb
Current weight: 176lb
Great work - Well done!
I reckon I can see ABS appearing in your after pic.
< Year long cut in progress photos. 250lbs to 188lbs, currently fluctuating around 180. Can somone identify my body-type? I reckon fat-ecto. Great work everyone!
I've been a lurker for a little while now using all your guys pics as motivation and it is finally starting to pay off! Now that I have some results I figured I'd show my pictures. This is me at the start of June and then just from the other day (August 22). I started out around 180 and now I'm down to 153. Everyone keep up the good work and keep kicking ass!
Great job man, looking good no homo. I am in the process myself, from 270 to 240 in about 2 months, I hope to get down to about where you are at eventually. Do you plan to pack on some muscle when you get done cutting?
About 1 year. 245-185. Still got a little bit of manboobage hoping to get rid of once i get to 175.

Very nice job man, you should be proud. Did you do any weight training or just diet and cardio? I am asking because I am currently about the same build as your before pic and I was wondering when I might be able to see abs and how difficult it would be to obtain them.

Thank You! And yes weight training has always been a staple in my life since I played football... when my journey began, I was lifting as heavy as I could all the time. I was building mass and burning fat. I'd usually do cardio right after a 45 min weight training session for like 30 mins(elliptical manual setting, high level:12-15 out of 20). Man the abs.... lol... I didn't see those puppies until about a month and a half ago... when I came back from college this summer, I was 190-194.. i spent my whole summer eating right, lifting heavy as usual and doing cardio maybe like twice a week(HIIT) on elliptical... only lost 5 lbs give or take and they started to come out. but its true what they say. You really start noticing the weight/fat loss significantly when the Lbs get low. It's crazy. I still want to get to 175. Then I'll look to clean bulk to about 190.
daamn... some of yall don't even seem like the same person..
Awesome progresses!!

Thanks man, it's been a hell of a journey with a lot more work ahead of me. You bet, can't wait to start the bulking process, shouldn't be too long now. I'll start Bulk/Cut cycles soon after I get down to around 165 +/- or right around when I start seeing some ab definition. Keep at it man, the best victory is to conquer self.

Wonderful progress man. I kinda look similar to your 'before', just less BF, so I'm looking at your picture for motivation. Man I feel like putting it as my desktop wallpaper.
I'm 5'11" 193lbs, have the moobs too, although I have quite decent muscle underneath and the upper chest, the bit of fat just points them.
Hoping to get to around 170-5 asap and go from there. Keep bringing the motivation guys, I will post my transformation one day too.
hey guys i posted on here a few weeks back but i thought i would post some progress pics, my before is from that start of summer/late last semester
That's absolutely amazing - Well done!

Thanks!
To drop a lot of the weight I did cycling (didnt want to damage my legs running haha) about 2 nights a week then weight lifting (usually heavy) on 3 other nights to build muscle and strength.
My gym days were:
1 x Chest and shoulder
1 x Back
1 x Legs
During this I would mix in stomach and arms etc.
At the time of the photo I was doing a lot of HIIT running instead of cycling. Ooo I also do wall climbing.
Basically thats what worked for me.
great xformation!
Cheers!
This is my progress so far ( 10 weeks in to cut ) , i was following kris gethins 12 week program with a few modifcations to suit my body. I was also wondering if anyone could give me estimates on my before and after body fat percentage if possible.
Before - 6" - 205lbs - I estimted my body fat at around 17-19%
10 weeks in - 6" - 179 lbs - I estimate my body fat at around 11-14 % ?

I have now finished Kris's 12 week program and begun may own program on a calorie surplus of over 1000calories.
Two weeks in and this is how i look , (thats a total of 14 weeks work since the first photo above)
Ment to say weights in above post.
Before - 205lbs
After 12 week cut - 173 lbs
2 weeks into bulk - 183 lbs
Aiming for a goal of 210-220lbs after bulk.
I'm 34 yrs old, 5' 7" and completely natural. I ran my first cut from April to August and attempted to get as lean as I could using diet / nutrition and lifting alone. I plan to begin a seven month lean bulk starting this September. These are my cut results.
Feedback welcome.

I had been training poorly for years and getting nowhere. I stumbled onto Starting Strength in January 2012 and ran a non-optimized bulk until April. Overshot macro / caloric requirements by miles :( I got stronger, but got excessively fat. Starting Strength is a solid barbell training program IMO.
I found Emma-Leigh's IIFYM Macro calculators in the Nutrition section in March 2012 and started a cut in April, everything started to click and fall into place after getting my nutrition straight. I am quite optimistic about next summer :)
Good luck.
Great job!Whats your diet/eating schedule like?
Thanks man! My diet is based on the values determined using the Macro calculators posted by Emma-Leigh in the nutrition section using the IIFYM nutrition philosophy. My exact diet, which has changed very little (almost none) over the past 5 months, which is my preference is posted below. My diet is composed of foods I enjoy eating & the timing is based on convenience only.
