IF wouldn't BE your problem mate, i only do it because it fits my lifestyle.
i have had months where i dont do it and i dont see any difference to be honest.
i just enjoy it because i feel like i actually eat a lot more haha.
but dont let that .5kg get you down, use it as inspiration... at the end of the day you are still 2.5kg better than 3 weeks ago. get back up on the horse and smash it brah
these piccies are givving me a raging chub on.
Starting to get into shape as of today. My mental fitness and physical fitness are extremely low. Some days I cant even look people in the eyes because my self esteem is so low and because i feel so ugly, inside and out.
But today I change,im hoping to join the army as a combat medic so need to be fit and confident for that as well. What hurts the most is i am a good person and have a desire to help people, but my low self esteem makes me bitter and weak minded.
So with this as a placeholder,Ill edit it when i have Brought out the man I know i am deep down. good luck to everyone, your not alone.
My friend, you are not alone! I think it is great that you are deciding to make a change to better yourself, as i am doing, and aparently everyone in this thread is doing. All of these posts are very motivational, and i hope you achieve your personal goals of becoming healthy (physically AND emotionally/mentally) ASAP! I know it can be hard to make a change for the better, but we will all be here to support you in your journey! As someone who has suffered from low self-esteem for years, i know from personal experience what you are going through!

So the man boobs will go away? I went from 300lb to 175 in about a year but i haven't really built alot of muscle, i just started to eat more calories i'm at 2,200 now and that's the most i have eaten since i started working out and i'm still at maintenance, i haven't ever bulked before but i'm hoping if i build some muscle and then cut down slowly this time they should go away? There just super annoying the excess skin on my lower stomach doesn't bother me as much as they do, i just wanna know that there is hope that they will go away without surgery or anything.

Hard to say without seeing exactly what shape you are in, but adding muscle mass and continuing to lean out will definitely help. I feel like I will ALWAYS have a bit of man boob, just my body type, but I've noticed they look a lot better with the muscle mass I've put on in the last year or two, which isn't a lot. I'm naturally "soft," and can not get rid of my love handles, ab fat and slight man boobs, despite being lean enough to have striations in my shoulders when pumped and visible veins in my upper chest... I keep pushing to lean out more and add more lean mass. It just takes a long time, but I know day by day, I'm improving. Keep working hard. Clearly with the weight you've lost, you have the will power.
Yeh that .5 could be water or muscle though , is hard to tell
it's all about trends - there's always going to be days when you don't poop, or you poop extra, or you retain water etc. you'll have good days, and you'll have bad days - you'll notice that your bad days, when viewed against your old bad days, are still going down. suspiciously, at the same rate your good days are going down compared to your other good days.
No matter what I am going through in life this thread helps me snap back to reality and brings everything back into perspective.
It reminds me of the famous Rocky quote:
Nothing and nobody is gonna hit as hard as life, but it ain't about hard you hit; its about hard you can GET hit and keep moving forward, how mcuh you can TAKE and keep moving forward, THAT'S HOW WINNING IS DONE!
Everyone in this thread has understood this concept and is just ****ing winning, period.
I've read this thread and the last one at least 3 times over and each time it has given me enough motivation to get something big done, to overcome whatever adversity I was going through at the time. I, and all of bb.com owe this thread so much. Actually, we all owe to each other to go out in this world and kick its' ****ing ass.
Hey guys, first post here. Have been lurking for a long while but never got around to getting a profile. Now I have.
This is my pic. I went from 125kgs to 85 at my lowest. That's a 40kg (or 88lb for you Americans) weight loss - I'm 192cm tall (or 6'3').
I've been on a solid bulk to 96kgs now, and i've been doing lots of strength training so I'm bigger than in the pic now, but my bodyfat percentage only went up 1.3% (from 14.3 to 15.6) during that bulk, so it's around 9kgs of lean mass I've gained which I guess is pretty good.
Now I'm back to cutting down food intake. I want to be able to see abs at some point in my life. Going for 12-11% bodyfat, at around 90kgs.
Nice transformation...
But it looks like you turned into Nick Hogan!
guys i need help... i am shy to go to the gym
Have you checked out around your area to see if there are any 24-hour gyms? At my gym, members who have 6 month or year packages are given a key and can access the facilities at ANY time, day or night. It is something to look into. Personally, i was very fortunate to have a great friend and mentor who helped me start going to the gym and is training me (also happens to own the gym). He motivated me and never lets me "cheat" on my diet, or miss a workout session. I think everyone here can benefit from a trainer who will challenge you, so i would see if you can find a personal trainer or just a friend who can motivate you. Do you have any overweight friends who you think might start going to the gym with you? As for being shy to start going to the gym, i understand what you're feeling. All i can say is starting out is going to be the hardest step. Once you get your routine set and you are really determined, you wont want to break it for ANYTHING! Making big, life-altering changes can be difficult, especially to accomplish on your own. I would suggest you try to find a friend with similar weight loss goals or find a trainer who can motivate you. TRUST ME when i say this, no matter how hard you think this is going to be (yes it is going to be hard), you CAN accomplish your goals! Good luck, my friend. Here is to hoping you accomplish those goals sooner rather than later.
Dude! great work. What is your diet and routine like?
Thanks man! Repped.
Diet is ~1700-1800 cals a day. sometimes regimented and sometimes IIFYM. Intermittent Fasting as well
Training is full body workout Tue, Thur, Sat. Running 3 miles on Mon, Wed, Fri.
Compound movements and accessory work, minus deadlifts until I strengthen my lower back and increase my hip/hamstring flexibility. Really trying to bring out my shoulders and back, as I think they are lagging.
Next week I'm starting a Pull/Push/Leg/Rest/Repeat routine though, as working every body part 3 times a week is getting pretty difficult recovery-wise. Just want to cut a little bit more so that I can hit it hard lean bulking for ~1 year
I wish I took a before picture but i was to a shame to even take pictures back then but June 27 a day at the beach I weighted my self around 302 after i was laugh at. Soon after hearing family member saying I looked sloppy and became lazy I looked in the mirror. When I first started back in the Gym the next day I could't even lift half my body weight a sad case to me. 5 months later after going to the gym working hard and going through pain and with the help of a few friends and my own motivation I lost about 80 pounds with the help of some protein I never used in my life and MP combat is the one I chose. Went from a size 44 to a size 36 in 5 month My goal is still a size 34-32. I weigh 223 now goal is 180-190 now plus I fell much better and I'm now addicted to the gym lol.

Hey guys,
For those of you who have already been through the process, I am in the second month now, did you have cheat days. Im finding it hard to not have cheat days. So FRI I had a burrito bowl for lunch, 770 cals, and then drank all night. SAT, hung over, ate like **** all day. Sunday, ran 7 miles, had BDUBS totalling about 1800 cals, then had yogurt and nuts before bed. So overall cheat days, yes or no. Rest of the week Im at 1800 or less per day. Never under 1300.
Thank you

yes on cheat days. got to for sanity's sake. just don't go too terribly crazy, and keep yourself honest with how often you deserve them

What I've discovered personally is that my face bloats easily. I did have a similar jaw line in the September photo at around April, maybe a bit more chubby. Then I had an attempt at a bulk (became more of a recomp) hence my face bloating again. I wouldn't really say I'm a hardgainer as well, based off my male relative's. Everyone is a hardcore Endo's with a slight bit of Meso; the real problem I believe is staying relatively lean.

Went from about 220ish down to currently around 175. Don't have any shirtless pictures taken for logging purposes from back then.
Keep the cut going guys!
Anyone else cheat days.
I have a weird body structure always have. Im dense, like a beast, but Im overweight as well. I've never not worked out, I just eat. Plus I cook, semi-professionally, so again I was used to eating like a beast as well. Got married gained weight. Now Im trying to lose 84lbs, well I think at this point I only have to lose 73lbs. Maybe less by now.
Im training for yet another marathon, I've done two in the past three years, and doing two in 2013. Skipped 2012, it was a big transition year for me. I think this information will help you guys assess if I should be having cheat meals at all, or if I should skip them all together until I reach my goal weight of 205lbs.
So workouts, I weight train 5x/week. One muscle group per day. My leg workouts consist of power yoga. Everything else standard sets and reps. 12-13-14 increasing weight with every set. Cardio Im killing about 20 miles per week. If you know Hal Higdon Im using his Novice 1 and we are at the 3-4-3-9 week. Oh I should mention Ive just started to do two a days. Im going to continue that until DEC 12th. Im trying to get ahead a little because Im going home for three weeks during the holidays and my friends again eat, so I know I will have a hard time around peer pressure.
Calories 1300-1800 per day mostly eat chicken and PB and J right now. Kale shakes, oatmeal, egg whites. Some pork, some beef on days I feel "soggy." I use that to describe a day when Im like couch stuck.
So what say you, to cheat or not to cheat?
My 4 month cut, help a brother out should I keep cutting or clean bulk?
I have no idea how fit or what i look, but here's my progress, at the first picture im about 95-100kg, and on the left one im at 82-85kg
Started working out when i realized that i was freaking 110kg
All the motivational and criticize comments are more than welcome

I'd say go on a bulk, but eat clean. I think you may begin to look too skinny if you cut much more. It's really up to you at this point. Regardless, nice work so far.
Good job. Diet/routine please?!
It's bounced around a lot during the whole process but currently I am doing:
Intermittent Fasting (16 hour fast, 8 hour feeding period)
@ 1500 cals (160 g protein, the rest varies but usually higher on fats than carbs)
Split - Legs / Chest & Tris / Back & Bis / Shoulder / Abs (emphasis on 5x5 big compounds, 3x8 isos)
Cutting down to 10-12% then lean bulking like a mofo

Your need to have cheat days depends in some part on how difficult your diet is to enjoy. I always say a diet is like having your picture taken. If you have to work to hold your pose, eventually your muscles will strain, and you'll exhale and let out your pot belly. But if you're just standing up straight, relaxed, they can take the picture whenever they want.
Hard, strict diets are good - and more importantly, more effective - than just eating a little better. But, if you're fighting your willpower every day to stay strict all the time, and then one day you go double or triple your diet constraints, you're not going to get anywhere, and it sucks to always have to starve yourself. Just drop the crap from your diet; the big, greasy stuff, the empty sugar loads. Try to never eat that. Find things that are healthier but still taste good, and slowly try to build THAT into your caloric needs and your dietary needs. If you enjoy what you're eating, it's a LOT easier to stay comfortable while you diet.
That's my uneducated 2 cents on the psychology of willpower in dieting, anyway. Hope it helps.
Hey everybody just want to share my ongoing transformation. I started about 3 months ago and have lost 23 lbs. Original goal was to make it to 125 lbs. A little background on me is I was in great shape in my highs school years from being a wrestler and athlete but after graduation I slowly deteriorated, going from weighing around 110 to to 150 in about 4 years. (Horrible I know). So now it feels great getting back into shape and being healthy. My new goal is to either get to 125 lbs and bench 250 or 120 lbs and bench 240. Not sure which would be easier. Any suggestions.? I'm max bbenching around 230 now. Thanks. Pix on pro if u would like to see

#Let'sMakeSomeNoise!
Hey sorta new here, I decided to start getting more fit in august of this year and have been doing a lot of trial&error, trying to see what works for me. In the pic I attached the left photo is August of This year and the right photo was taken at the beginning of November. At the moment i guess you could say im cutting, and i think these are decent estimates of what i intake:
Cal : 1400-1500, Carbs : 50g , Fat: 40-50g , Protein : 50-60g.
I go to the gym about 4-5 times a week while eating clean,i can see the abs somewhat forming and was wondering if i want them to REALLY start coming out.. should i keep as i am or should i change it up..the only guidance i have is what i see on Instagram/youtube and i'd like to stop walking in the dark..anyones 2cents would be appreciated, thanks.
