Couldn't be more true. You have to have a distinguishably larger appetite than the average folk in order to stand a chance in any eating challenge, otherwise you're setting yourself up for failure.
If I were you, I'd just do the AYCE challenge for fun and eat till I'm content, if you don't think you can beat the record that is

I like to post my "35 pancakes all over the place"?
Like I told the manager when I went in to see him the other day, it's very easy for people to cheat. As was/is apparent in this case. I never accuse people, and quite frankly I have no idea who this person was/is... but apparently molly is the new IHOP champion...

Molly ain't a random person. She's the one who destroyed Furious Pete's 72oz steak record in less than half the time, among other insane challenges.
It's probably legit if it is that Molly lol

Molly has been around for months, sent over a dozen records at eating contests, not just a 1 show boat
i posted a previous video where she did the 10 pounds or so mexican challenge in 4 minutes.
I would say she can pound some food my man. Im sure you read eatfeats or have, so i know you have seen her name pop up quite a bit
She did 8 pounds of cottage cheese in a record time as well.

Molly also has more victories than that #5 top ranked eater Miki Sudo:
http://eatfeats.com/molly-schuyler-vs-miki-sudo-2013.html (18 Contests and 17 victories)
Calling Molly "unnamed" is pretty harsh, thats like calling Miki Sudo unnamed (Molly has more eating contest victories than Miki does), or a Randy Santel unnamed who has done over 120+ Competitions.
Here are 18 videos of Schyuler and her accomplishments, she could give furious pete a good run.

Alright, I will start by saying this is the first “food challenge” type of event that I have done. Therefore, I went in without preparation and completely unaware of what to expect really (no strategy, etc.). The IHOP I went to was doing the AYCE pancakes but not participating in the Pancake Bowl. The record for this year was only 19, but all-time was 35. I tried my best to get a video camera but could not come across one. So I took pictures with my phone, and yes since it was my first challenge, I made some mistakes I guess you could say when taking them for proof (zoomed in too far on some plates, so you can’t see how many I’ve already eaten, forgot to take some pictures of some plates, etc.). The waitress also could not ring up the AYCE on the receipt showing each plate you ordered. Also in comparison to the video Erik posted, my first plate came with 6 pancakes and every plate thereafter came with 5. So for what it’s worth, here is how it went haha. 7 total plates = 36 pancakes. I literally could not eat another bite without throwing up. As the last picture shows, I left 3 on the plate and therefore only ate 33 pancakes (3 shy of the all-time record for that IHOP). Yes I have probably uploaded a bunch of unnecessary pictures but here are my plates.
First plate = 6 pancakes (can barely make them out)

Plate 2 = forgot to snap picture to start but here it is finished

Plate 3 = forgot until I got down to 2 pancakes

Plate 5 = forgot again until down to 3 pancakes

Plate 7 with the unfinished 3 cakes, & therefore a total of 33 pancakes

My thoughts: I now know of the “food wall” everyone speaks of, because I put down 26 easily and just knew I was going to kill the record, but then it hit me like a ton of bricks! I have never felt so miserable in my entire life afterwards. I was nauseous by the time I ordered my last plate. Therefore, I don’t know if I will ever do another challenge again after feeling like that haha. So props to knocking down 35 Erik! Also I was curious as to if some of your pancakes were thicker than others when you did yours Erik? I also took a shot of the pancake on my hand to see how the size compares to the ones you ate, just out of curiosity? Because I was literally folding these bad boys in half and eating them in 2 bites, sometimes 3 with the really thicker ones!

First off, congrats on the huge feat! 33 pancakes ain't no joke.
Exactly how I felt after my burrito challenge. The pain after fighting through a food wall is absolutely incomprehensible, and it lasts for a long, long time. Not many people in the world ever experience this type of feeling though so they won't understand it lol.

Yeah I thought might be a tad smaller, however, they were pretty thick.. But I don't doubt one bit that yours were larger! Also, how long did it take you? The guy who held the record for 35 pancakes did it in 1 hour 50 minutes. My 33 was in 50 minutes. I could have easily sat around for another hour and eventually eaten those 3 pancakes, but I'm not sitting at IHOP for 2 hours haha!

Thanks man! I really appreciate it.. That's funny, cause as I hit that food wall with such pain in my stomach, I actually thought of someone on here saying that they would never do another challenge again it hurt so bad and was so tough haha!

You can say the same for any individual starting out such as Molly and her dominance.
Who knew of miki sudo a year ago? nobody
who knew of the megatoad 2 years ago? nobody.
Now let me bring this back to reality, who knows about Erik and his eating competitions/challenges? nearly nobody because you did not complete a "breakthrough" challenge, but have been featured on eatfeats. (as many other famous individuals have) and like you want to do more in the future it may lead to you becoming very famous/popular on there.
The same principal applies to any individual in a sporting event or real life event regarding fame and being recognized, so like i said "before jumping the gun on the assumption regarding Molly and her achievements" maybe take a look and consider before simply blaring out a statement which you seem to be quick on.
Again i could bring up Randy Santel and how he almost won Rookie of the year last year and his 120+ Challenges he has done, or even mention Jamie "The Bear" McDonald and his achievements, yet they both do not get a lot of recognition or fame.

HAHA no kidding! And the ironic thing is that it was hands down the most I have ever eaten in one sitting and possible the cheapest I have ever eaten out for = $3.99 haha!
