Laughing at how thick that batter coating ended up, seemed almost grossly crunchy.
Why not just take a whole slab of fish and actually just make a "giant" filet-o-fish instead of deepfrying it over and over again.....

5 Pound Burrito Challenge

I took on a burrito challenge in my neck of the woods! Man it was really good, and tasted awesome. I hit "somewhat" of a food wall when the picture of the $ shot was taken, but I think it was because I was literally inhaling my food haha. So after a few burps, I smashed the rest. The record was 31:50 and I finished in 21 minutes flat. The burrito was filled with shredded chicken, beef, sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, rice beans & jalapeņos. You had to finish a large cheese dip with it (on the side) but I poured some on my burrito and then dipped my tortilla in the rest. I got the meal free, along with my name & picture on top of the leaderboard (only have 3 have finished it and no one since 2013), a free t-shirt and a free dessert. Which how could I not choose a warm brownie with some good ole ice cream on top? I finished it all before my sister even finished her little quesadilla, she just looked at me and said "you are sick" hahaha. I feel like crap now though! Just chugging a ton of water the rest of the day. I am so thirsty that water tastes like koolaid right now haha!

lol no, I meant did the restaurant weigh it? (99% of the time the menu will state a certain weight when it's either over/under the actual true weight)
Nice! Great looking burrito too, along with a killer time on it.

I love getting into a port call overseas after 3-5 weeks at sea and finding that Erik did some 3-4 challenges already! I should not be surprised anymore at that. Guy is killing it! I live through him and his challenges as I have 0 chance to do any such things living afloat and spinning circles out in the gulf on deployment. Middle Eastern cities do not have crap for challenges and even then its not with the foods I would dare eat in mass quantity.
Missed my ritualistic birthday slice of giant carrot cake this year for my birthday (big ole 31 this year) as we were out to see. In port this week now but I cant find crap for anything remotely like carrot cake here in Bahrain. Must be 10+ years since I missed not having this! So not cool!
How you all been lately by the way!?
I'm down almost 20lbs in 14 weeks from all my damn fitness classes, 100+ degree temps and no means to make my own meals anymore while living afloat. I'm lucky its only 20 to be god honest!
Miss you guys!
Eat up for me please!

Erik, challenges look good as always!
been meaning to ask, but feel free to say its too personal etc.
but do you get any money for these challenges/ youtube videos? I know that you get money for some of the challenges and the actual competitions, but do you get anything for these "10,000 cal" videos?

Yes I do. But the amount is minimal and (with the exception of the 30k day video) the cost of the food outweighs the $$$.

thanks for the response. I just wasn't sure because I remembered you saying that you were offered by a company (if I recall) to pay you for your channel, but abstained from the offer.
I was curious because I figured you were getting something based on the frequency of the challenges now lol. Still biking lots?
Yeah that was a good move on my part. Lots of shady stuff happening on youtube.

Why is it funny? Cali and Texas are 2 huge states
makes sense.
Why is it funny? Cali and Texas are 2 huge states

true, I just found it funny that all the other states ~4-5 (with the exception of California), and Texas had 26 cities. Reading it more in depth now I am seeing "both locations", "all locations" on a few. So I didn't realize that the other places, for example the state of Georgia only having 3 locations. They may not, because these are only participating locations.
you may not be tracking with my thought process here. Basically I was assuming their were a bunch of locations in each state, however it appeared that Texas was the only state that had a large proportion of participants. Next time I will think more prior to posting.
^ It's not a huge deal brother, lol.

^this is true! There are actually way more in GA.. Those 3 "participating" locations are all ATL suburbs!
i've noticed a lot of these places (well in Australia anyways) are moving towards a free "NEXT" meal rather then the challenge meal being free. Kinda pisses me off that they do this..

Wouldn't even consider if it I were you. The pizza is nearly impossible, even with top ranked CErs.
pretty much made my day today, ahaha.

yup its a bit far for me as well, well mileage wise (90 miles) but that bay area traffic just in general means it will probably be a 2.5hr drive. looks pretty tasty though, and thinking this burrito challenge might be a bit more manageable then the first one I tried..
