Yeah, the ramen challenge was pretty awesome! I had 45 minutes to eat the entire thing, soup and all, and I finished it in 27 and got a hundred bucks. The toughest part about the challenge was the temperature of the ramen and the excessive amount of sodium in it! I'm going to be living in Japan until the end of April, so I'm planning on doing a few more of these challenges that are only available in Japan.
Tempted to re-create my own at home! I noticed from zermatt's challenges that there's a ton of ramen/curry challenges.

And the video is finally LIVE!
Took lots of time (and money) to shoot and edit, but I'm happy with this one! Definitely had a ton of fun with this challenge, and won't be doing one for quite some time. Despite the "slip up" during the beginning, I won't let things get me down and will continue to pursue my passion(s)! Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe if you haven't already!
Here are some photos of the challenges I have taken on so far:
4.4lbs curry
8lbs of steak and rice
6.6lbs of soba noodles
25 jumbo gyozas
8.8lbs curry
12.3lbs of ramen
I usually eat over ten pounds of food when I go to an AYCE buffet. I always make sure to get my money's worth and more!
Beat another challenge this past Monday! For this challenge, I had to eat a 2kg sashimi bowl and a thing of miso soup in under 15 min. I ended up completing it in 8' 31" and hold the record at that location. I'm going to be taking on a 6kg curry this Saturday, so we'll see how that goes..
Erik: have you considered taking on the Eagle's Deli challenge? I think that you have a pretty good shot at beating it! I definitely am going to try it once I go back to the US.

Enjoy! Tell Pedram I say hello!

I hate to say this, but I had to accept my first defeat yesterday...the 6kg (>13lbs) cure kicked my butt. I still had about 2-3lbs of food left and I threw in the towel around the 25min mark. I thought that I would have been able to beaten it, since I was able to get down the 12.4lbs ramen. I guess I'll mark this off as a learning experience and continue training.

^ We all have them brother.
After my last two... My next restaurant challenge coming up soon is extremely intimidating but the real "prize" will be will worth it!

Congrats on the win! I'd love to take on the Carnivore challenge at some point. I am actually going to a Nathan's qualifier on 6/22 as well. Since I didn't attach the photos for the sashimi challenge and the 6kg curry, here they are:

Erik: Thanks for the encouraging words! What challenge are you planning on taking on? I'm also considering giving the 6kg curry another shot after some proper training and re-strategizing. I'm not trying to make excuses, but I realized that I drank way too much water and coke during the challenge after watching the video. I also did not ration the curry wisely and was left with a pile of plain white rice which was bland and sticky. How much time to do you usually allow yourself before you reattempt a challenge that you failed? Thanks once again!

Due to the large payout of the challenge, I'm not going to be revealing it online until I go in and attempt it. ;) It's on the west coast though!

The AYCE SUSHI CHALLENGE!

[I]DEFINITELY one of my tastiest challenges yet! (And with a $25 price tag for over $200 worth of sushi? I'm game!) Check out the video to see how I did!
I do just want to say that I HATE Avocado (and Jalapenos). While every roll seemed to be loaded with both of them, I felt like the extremely large amounts of mayonnaise and cream cheese in most of the rolls masked the flavor of it, so I was able to handle it. It was more of the texture of the Avocado that started getting to me. The rolls were absolutely DELICIOUS, but after roll 15.. I started to feel the food wall. (Mainly because waiting over 20+ minutes for re-orders while the massive amounts of starch sat in my stomach really got to me as well). I'd estimate I took down between 9-10 lbs of sushi, and again... likely over $200 worth! So I ain't even mad!

Loved the sushi video man! I do the same thing when I go to the AYCE Japanese BBQs. I pay about $40 for the meal and order over $300 worth of food. BTW, I just beat another challenge. For this challenge, I had to eat a three pound hamburger steak along with four pounds of rice and some veggies. For beating the challenge, I got the meal for free and a free t-shirt. It's nice winning a challenge after losing the 6kg challenge last week!

Here are the pics from the 3lbs hamburger steak challenge:
*I had to eat three plates of the rice, which is a total of 4lbs of rice.
