The Challenge:

Just 40 MINUTES to take down 12.4 pounds of soul food. I had to take on Island Soul Bistro’s infamous “B.O.B” Platter. Which is meant to feed 4-5 people. The platter comes with both beef and spare ribs, a couple pounds of chicken, and fish. It also comes with SIX sides. Including collard greens, mac and cheese, potato salad, a chicken and rice dish known as chicken kelaguen, a pickled dish, and a big bowl of black eyed peas!
After all of this, I had to take down an two entire orders of red velvet chicken and waffles. (A normal order is $12.50) which was another 3-4 pounds of food. And then topped it all off with peach cobbler for dessert!

WITHOUT A DOUBT
My biggest and hardest challenge yet. Last night, I attempted to take down the “B.O.B” platter at “Island Soul Bistro” in Lemon Grove, CA. This was their first EVER food challenge, so I was VERY excited to take this thing on. And then I went into the back kitchen and saw it being plated/made.. This thing was TWELVE and a half pounds of straight up soul food! An entire family sized platter called the “Best of Both Worlds” platter, red velvet chicken and waffles, and peach cobbler to top it all off!
Before I say anything else, I just want to mention how friendly and awesome the ENTIRE staff was and how awesome it was to get the CRAZY amount of support that I had with the challenge. At least FIFTY people came out just to see the challenge take place at the restaurant and it was without a doubt my favorite challenge!
I started off with the protein (obviously) and worked my way through the ribs. They were tough, but I got through them. Each bone felt like it was a mini baseball bat, but I got through them in around 4-5 minutes. After that I worked through the chicken (very tough) and fish and then started with the sides. Each side felt like PURE death as everything was a heavy.. and I mean HEAVY starch. “Potatoes.. Rice.. Greens.. Beans.. Mac and Cheese, and then a few pounds of battered chicken and waffles after that?” I questioned myself as I finished the meats, I didn’t know if I really had it in me. After all of my challenges, this was the only time I where I really questioned it and my ability. But then the infamous “Second wind” hit me, and I powered through the collard greens, beans, chicken and rice (my favorite), mac and cheese, pickled dish, and then the potatoes to finish it off. The red velvet chicken and waffles (by this point) were EXTREMELY tough to get down and each waffle was like a brick in my stomach. The chicken was tough, the waffles were dry (since they had been out for that period of time, but STILL delicious). But I kept going and going regardless of the signals my stomach was sending to me. Finally I got all of them down...
”Oh, you thought it was over?
The head chef brought out my “dessert” to top it all off.. Peach Cobbler. And I shook my head in awe as I looked at it being set down on the table. Oddly enough this was one of my favorite parts of the entire meal! It was smooth, creamy and delicious!
As I shoveled the last bite of ice cream into my mouth, I FINISHED THE 12.4 POUNDS OF FOOD IN 35 MINUTES! Setting the mark as the FIRST EVER PERSON TO EVER ACCOMPLISH IT! So stoked, but so painful. After completing this challenge, this solidified (to me) that I need to really start taking my challenges to the next level..

I was brought into the kitchen a few minutes before it was brought out for everyone to see. I honestly wasn't too worried when I saw it, the "second thoughts" came after I got through the disgustingly fatty cuts of meat and ribs. Haha.

This was filmed at Island Soul Bistro in Lemon Grove, CA. This was my biggest and most difficult eating challenge to date, it was 12.4 POUNDS of delicious "soul food". I had only 40 minutes to down an entire family sized platter called The B.O.B" (Best of both worlds). After that, I had to consume the infamous "Red Velvet Chicken and Waffle Sliders" and then dessert afterwards! All in all, it was an AMAZING experience and I had tons of fun. Did I finish the monster? Watch the video and find out!

^ Question:
How does it feels like to be the second most known competitive eater in bb.com. First place being AFC96?
Woot! This is actually pretty cool, maybe molly and I will be able to do a challenge soon enough!

im planning to do my first food challenge and since I havent eaten a pizza in very very long time im planning to eat the whole pizza hut by myself ...big size thin cheese on the side chicken with extra cheese too...idk how many calories but FK IT!
im working offshore so ganna stick to my keto for next 6 days and wait for that delicious pizza in my off days right after leg destruction xD
how was your first food challenge ? what was it? how did you feel right after and are you supposed to eat for the rest of the day or call it quit on eating?

Ill never forget when you had no idea who molly was last year during the IHOP contest when she smoked 70 cakes
I like to post my "35 pancakes all over the place"?
Like I told the manager when I went in to see him the other day, it's very easy for people to cheat. As was/is apparent in this case. I never accuse people, and quite frankly I have no idea who this person was/is... but apparently molly is the new IHOP champion...

After you did 35, i bet you could prob top 60 now.
I was planning on doing my first "real" eating challenge soon (from a restaurant, not just something with friends). I notice a lot of the competitive eaters don't drink water when they are doing their challenges and instead opt for a diet drink, kool-aid, or something else. I am sure there is some science behind this instead of just preference when you get to that high of a level. Anyone have the explanation?
