Agreed.
Last minute change up yesterday. Was going to to Rudfords Big Nick (I still will) when a group of work friends begged me to go out for cheesesteaks with them at a joint I love just across the street from me. They know I have my Sunday Splurge Suppers every week so they wanted to bank on that to have me come along......how nice of them........Gaglione Bros. has a food challenge too but not one I found all that challenging honestly so never did it. That changed last night.....
17 minutes later....all done! (my clock counts up btw and i started it a bit late so it was actually right about 17 even at time)

What's the verdict? Which sandwich was better?
What's the verdict? Which sandwich was better?
Really hard to say honestly.....chicken cheesesteak was A-Mazing in terms of melty swiss and hot shredded chicken with spices and peppers, shrooms, onions and A1 sauce and bread that soaked up all the juicy goodness.......then the "Turk" is Gaglione Bros. indentical take on Capriottis famous (nationally award winning) "Bobbie" which for anyone who loves left over turkey sandwiches in the days after thanksgiving....multiply that by 10 and then your close. Its the PERFECT combo of 4 simple comfort foods made in house that brings the holiday right back to your lips with every bite. Its the very reason I picked those two as my sub/steak pairing because I had tried both many times before and never failed to inhale either one and not have a smile on my face afterwords.
The steak n cheese fries were BOMB! Never had anything like that before till then and now I am sold...only way to have regular fries is like this now!
PS.....last nights feats at Bare Back Grill in PB, CA. Again not a super hard challenge by any means (if your seasoned that is) but ungodly good! Free if done under 30 (The 32 oz drink of choice w/o ice in the back is part of the challenge mind you) Took 19:10 to finish this bad boy which was fairly paced for me. Its got delicious New Zealand grass fed beef, fried egg, hickory bacon, swiss cheese, beet root, LTO, and 4 wheat buns.

Win #19 for this guy! BTW my goal/bet I made public to several close friends of mine last April 1st after my first eating gig was to compete every formal eating challenge with at least a 30 minute minimum time limit in San Diego county in 1 years time. I have till April 1 (March 13 actually since we go to sea from the 14th to 8th) to finish the last 4 (Rudfords Diner, Ciros Pizza, McGonagles Cheesesteaks, OB Noodle House). I got $400 cash coming from the 4 guys I made the bet with if I make it.....or I pay out $400 if I do not!!
Im curious for those of you who do these eating competitions. What is your post-meal day or even day after like when consuming these 10k+ calorie challenges? Do competitors often end up doing some kind of purging? Do you have some sort of routine to deal with the massive influx of cals and the resulting bloat/pain/ etc?

After my 5lbs burrito challenge (which I did during the late afternoon), I was in too much pain to eat anything during that night. Just drank water and went to sleep once the pain subsided.
The day following the challenge, I was RAVENOUS. Still, I only ate some vegetables and a bit of lean meats during lunch and drank tons of water to clear my stomach, then ate normally after that.

most get right back on their typical diet the next day. I know Pete had a video about his diet on his last Q&A he did.

Just eat as normal straight after it (I keep eating after a comp) and the next day etc.
Nothing changes for me, no prep etc, eat as usual before it and everything.

I wondered if Pete did an FAQ on this. I'll have to hunt it down. Have a great time at the Arnold B!

no FAQ, but if you watch his latest Q&A where he eats 200 chicken wings, he goes into detail on it (its about 30 minutes long) Dont remember the exact period of the question though. I could ask him personally this weekend if you want Irish?

yep, this right there. all my challenges are normally around 8-9pm which is preceded by a 5 hour fast most time. i wont eat the rest of the night other then water. by 8am the next morning i am starved. i got right back to my normal diet. mind you the challenges i have done 90% of the time leave me pretty darn full but not painfully stuffed. i may respond different if it were to that level but its not. i pop a double dose of slin-trol and mrm digest all right before every challenge which seems to help me with aftermath big time!

Yep. He had naps in between parts. Took ~1hr 37mins all up (he stopped the timer every break while he went to sleep).
Wonder if I would get any subscribers if I made a channel lol. I want to beat the 75 PB cup one.

with those 2 done, i had 4 to go (now 3 with tonights challenge completed). Today was Mcgonagles Cheesesteak Challenge (picture below )tomorrows Grand Slam challenge at Hob Nob Hill, Monday's Defibrillator Challenge at Ciros Pizzeria(not so sure about this one as its been bumped twice now due to venue excuses like "trivia night is too busy", then "today's rainstorm today kept a chef from making it in so kitchen is too slow") and lastly on Tuesday's Fuddruckers Fat Tuesday Burger Challenge to put a wrap on my 11 month food challenge "San Diego County EatFeats Tour" Hope to be 24-1 by Tuesday baby. Wont see another food challenge till October at best so gotta make these count now!

Not a bad challenge for cheesesteak lovers! I have had the big philly cheesesteak at Subway and this is pretty well the same as that in size. This had grilled mushrooms, onions and green peppers which I really like way better then raw like at Subway (and they don't have mushrooms at Subway)
Man I am loving all of these sub challenges! I would kill to try a challenge like that..
