No, literally the owner said those exact words. "It was cool seeing pete do it! You're definitely the smallest guy out of all of them".
Still makes me chuckle when people try to base ones stomach capacity on their body size.
I'd say it's more about how fast you can eat. Lots of guys can put down volume, but not at the speed required for these challenges.
-
When I saw Pete's video, then yours all I could think is 'Yeah, I could stomp that... no way in 24 minutes though; maybe 40ish...' Love sliders, and those looked great.
It felt strange seeing Petes video, I chose to do the challenge on Friday night and came across his video the next day (3 days ago he posted it haha).
Weird that he did it back in September and just now posted it.

Have you guys seen this site? http://www.scary-crayon.com/food/lostlunch1/

Find any near you yet?

There's a spicy wing challenge right in the town I live in now (not too interested but may do it just cause)... But there are 2 burger challenges about 1.5 hours away in the town I used to work and go to college in (and where my sister is at college now).. So would be easy to get someone to film it and have somewhere to stay, etc.

Why do you need to stay somewhere? I've made 1-2 hour drives for some of my challenges. It's worth it!

True! Just makes things easier and can spend time with friends/family if I choose to do it over a weekend..
2 Burger challenges are:

May start with the 4 pounder first since it would be my first real challenge (did the AYCE IHOP Pancakes back February)

i would find something 2-3lb to start. 4 may be too much for your first challenge. They are harder than it looks, believe me. Looks are decieving. Just like anything else always start smaller and work your way up.

This.
Start small(ish) and work your way up, also wouldn't advise a burger for a first challenge.

any thoughts on burrito challenge as your first one?

Loved my first challenge and as a burger
absolutely tore through it with ease, and remarkably was one of the better burgers i ever had with 4 cheese's and sauteed peppers/onions under the cheese as a big mac like setup
Then again I do not have the luxury that other cities do with choices and had to travel over 2 hours just to do the challenge. hopefully more open up around me sooner or later. besides 2 footlong hotdogs
Stonie and 1lb Snickers
Holy freaking jaw workout batman! Volume and speed are not even being tested as much as jaw endurance would be! I hurt watching that!
I F&*ING love snickers bars however so this would be damn fun to to in a head to head gig with someone else using the mini's to see who could eat like 30 of them the quickest.
-
watching that stonie vid with the snickers is making me almost regret buying that 1lb snickers

Too messy. But delicious nonetheless.

A little post ride "training" for the night.
Always have loved little Caesars since I was a kid.
I always thought it tasted terrible.
Doesn't even compare to Chicago deep dish, but it does the job. :)
Start small(ish) and work your way up, also wouldn't advise a burger for a first challenge.
Why not?
Also, I gotta say I enjoy Randy Santel much more than Furious Pete and other speed eaters. I find the latter really boring, and the challenges just seem stupid rather than tasty as in Randy's case. Any other channels similar to his on YouTube?

Wide variety of reasons.
Burgers tend to be "harder" due to the top bun + starches that come a long with it.
Burger challenges tend to be bigger (more lbs)
Usually come with additional veggies
Easy to screw up (if you want it cooked perfectly)
Taste gets boring quickly, unless you get a good challenge
I could go on.
Similar to randy?
Give "Freak eating" and "Matt Stonie" a watch.
Doesn't even compare to Chicago deep dish, but it does the job. :)
Should have gotten their new Pretzel Crust, pretty good.
Stonie on a 1 pound Snickers... haha told you guys, nougat knight stick; tore through the 1 pound Reese's yesterday, washed down with some chocolate milk, had to get 1% since store was out of whole milk- also had Eggnogg with it, poor choice. Love eggnog but the thickness of that with the peanut butter made it too hard to eat.

And who doesn't (or hasn't) done his, ate the chocolate off and then blasted a solid chunk of peanut butter.... hnnnggg.

Any challenge and its taste gets boring when you eat pounds of it.
It is a law of diminsihing returns on volume challenges anyways, its more a mind over matter challenge in telling yourself not to give in when you hit the wall which may fail the first one or two times they try because it is pretty uncomfortable when taking in a bolus of food.
Burgers can be bigger, but pizza's are probably going to be the hardest out of the gate, its also a safe bet for most on what they enjoy (burgers) Compared to exotic or authetic foods like mexican which turn a lot of people away, some people love or hate it. Subs may be pretty hard too (more bread compared to one single burger) depending on size.
if the burger comes with a boatload of fries (over a pound) that is where the individual may struggle after taking down the burger , and bun. Then again most people are not use to eating over a few pounds of starches in a sitting. First time i will never forget almost wanted to fall asleep an hour later haha.

I see what you did there^ ;)
The 4lber doesn't come with fries so that may be of some help.. I feel like I might do better with more protein over more starches!
