I see what you did there^ ;)
The 4lber doesn't come with fries so that may be of some help.. I feel like I might do better with more protein over more starches!
more protein = more satiation
if you just have the bun should not be bad at all. Fries usually kill people in the end.
I used to like it but now it literally the worst pizzayou can buy. And no on the pretzel crust it's fuking terrible
This is what I was hoping for ultimately.. Yes it will be a huge bun, but at least there will be no fries to accompany it!

Pizza Hut is were it's at for quick pizza fix, their P'Zones and pasta are really good, lasagna too; rarely get actual pizza from there, ironic given their name.

Can't wait for my next challenge, so hard to find pizza challenges in SD. But I managed to find one, stoked/10.

Grease?
how about the crust and how hot the pizza is
thats the major draw back.

not even factoring cheese which wrecks havoc on most peoples digestive system due to high amounts of dairy can do that.
Plenty of other things when you do try and attempt something of that nature. Doing a whole pizza in 3 minutes will do that too (like i have done in the past) Crust was the damn enemy in getting it down.
-
We have a 24" pizza challenge nearby, and I was thinking of doing that one. I haven't done a food challenge before, though, so I'm not sure how that would go.

Luigi's in PB is the one famous one I know of around SD. Kevin Ross and I were going to do this this spring but when I found it was a 3 cheese only pie I was out. Lactose Intolerance and 3 cheese pizza would not be fun in any way shape or form!
30"' pizza two person team challenge to be done in 1 hour or less. 70 some have completed the task the last I was told.
Which one you doing?

First challenge and 24" pizza would be a very hard task.

How far you from LA Erik? about 2 hours?
ig Mama’s and Papa’s Pizzeria – Go there for the Mecca pizza challenge!
-
First challenge and 24" pizza would be a very hard task.
Yeah, I imagine it wouldn't/won't be easy, especially since I was planning on actually enjoying the pizza, and not just stuffing it in, as well :D It looks delicious, and the time limit is one hour.

Digestive Enzymes ftw.
Never have used them before, but for some with lactose issues that would help.

24" for your first challenge. Way too big.

Yep, It's a team task which is why I didn't do it. Won't ever do a team challenge unless it's with RS or FP. lol

Yeah, 1.5-2hours excluding traffic. Wouldn't make the trip to LA for strictly an eating challenge, unless I was already in LA for something else.

Naader and Ross killin' a 13 pound Holiday Feast... really good looking food, 'cept the gravy at the end haha.

What do you guys think about challenges where you don't get the meal for free? It kind of seems against "the code" to me, regardless of whether you enter their hall of fame or whatever, and get a free T-shirt.

I see no point in it, would never go out of my way to do a challenge thats NOT free. No incentive.
Unless it was on Man vs. Food or an "unbeatable" challenge.

Here are some good eats in LA next time you are there

Bully's East in Mission Valley San Diego has one like this. Sad because its the only prime rib challenge in the county. If you beat the "beast" a 38oz cut with large potato, salad and texas toast you get your 3RD order free.....meaning you must pay the $58 price tag, finish it in an hour to get your 3rd shot free. Seems absolutely pointless to me?
Any other challenge I have done in SD county has been free if won per set guidelines.
-
found a possible challenge down the road for you socal guys saw this on tv looked interesting. since my g/f is filipina, i'd be all over this if it was closer

If you guys are not familiar with him I suggest you make yourself so. He is on a roll like Randy was if not more so in his early days. Ramsey Hilton of Columbia, MO. I new him personally for 2 years when I lived there. In fact we did his and my very first 5 eating challenges there side by side. The guy has been able to clean house since day 1!
He has 163 challenges done in 33 states as of 12/15/14. He has lost just 7. The guy is about 6'2'' and maybe 200 bills soaking wet. Check out his FB page and his challenges.
Example.....I did the brians 24 famous pancake monster in a personal best ever finish of 17:40 and that was pushing myself like mad. I had the record for 2 weeks when he came through town and did it in 13:45. My jaw dropped when he not only looked to beat my time but then did.

But there are actually a couple here where you still end up having to pay for the meal. For example, this burrito challenge had me really intrigued: http://bandidoscafe.com/?page_id=126. But, as Erik said, there's just no or not as much incentive to do it, especially given that so many have tried and succeeded already.
