Saw it. I watch these to get ideas for my birthday.
Legit impressed at both your and the human body's ability to handle that much sheer volume of food.

Nice work!
Thanks! The guy that won apparently is a pro and told me afterwards that I should try and go to the qualifier in DC. I don't think I will go though....Don't even really want to think about hot dogs at this point lol.

Yeah, gideon is MAD talented. And a nice guy!
Great job man.
Feeling better with my stomach lately, juts to test put down 7 pounds 12 ounces of vegetables.
Problem is vegetables are so much easier to do than pizza or burgers. And Texas Pete couldn't even make that bearable by the time I was done, should have switched to siracha sauce.

Seriously though, impressive; going to have to find another way to challenge yourself once you hit the human capacity or something.

lol. That would suck. That is my absolute limit though!
Jesus Christ, 50000 calories?! The cut after that isn't going to be fun lol (if you plan on doin so). Good job as always!

28 hot dogs, and those are no small hot dogs so we're going with 100 g per dog. Plus the buns comes to about 11,000 calories.
So, you're only 1/5 of the way there. In 8 minutes too. Was it 8? I don't remember.

Very true lol, but 10,00-15,000 calories is much more manageable than 50,000 (at least for me anyways). It was ten minutes btw.

I never do any formal "cuts" after challenges. Lol
I never do any formal "cuts" after challenges. Lol
I wonder how much of that caloric energy from that challenge is used simply to digest such a quantity of food.
I wonder how much of that caloric energy from that challenge is used simply to digest such a quantity of food.
What energy from the challenge? Consumed? Expended? I'm confused lol
What energy from the challenge? Consumed? Expended? I'm confused lol
I meant the TEF of digesting so much food mass, even at a couple % it would still be an enormous amount of calories just to... well, digest the calories.
Just a random thought about the body and its functions is all.
I never do any formal "cuts" after challenges. Lol
That's what I'd figure, since you probably have a high tdee from cycling lol. In order for me to maintain/lean bulk, I have to cycle/zig zag my macros for the week.
Meanwhile I'm over here like eat, lift, run.
Look I'm losing weight, great.
I'm gaining weight, eat less.
But then again I don't do as many challenges as you guys.
I meant the TEF of digesting so much food mass, even at a couple % it would still be an enormous amount of calories just to... well, digest the calories.

I believe that there is a lot of truth in this, because I go way over my set macros for a given week with minimal/zero fat gains. There has to be a certain point where the body doesn't digest all of those excess calories.

Over a 50 hour course, it really isn't anything substantial. Actual volume challenges (in one sitting) would yield a higher TEF.

I heard about your bike accident...I hope that you have a speedy recovery!

Thank you sir!
I beat my first BBQ challenge today at The Bone BBQ! My father tried the challenge with me as well, but he was not able to complete the challenge unfortunately. The restaurant wouldn't let him take out his left-overs, so I ended up eating the rest of his meal as well lol. I beat the challenge in record time and got the meal for free and a free shirt.

LOL when that happens.
Congrats.

I just hate to waste perfectly good food (especially BBQ) lol.
On a different note, I'm planning on taking on a huge challenge next week that'll really push my limits.....don't know if it'll happen but I'll give it my best shot!

I actually don't think the impact would be anything more than a typical meal in terms of the rate at which TEF plays a part. TEF seems dependent on the processing requirements of the nutrients themselves, carbs being less impactful in terms of TEF than protein, etc. So if you're eating 100 calories of protein, perhaps a certain % of those are assumed to be 'spent' calories because they automatically get burned in the process, but if you eat 50,000 calories it simply means a % of that would drop into the processing allowance... the net effect wouldn't be any different in terms of how efficiently you handle the calories... at least that's my theory.

And a sound one at that!
I'm in Boston this weekend to hang out with a good friend of mine....Can you guess what challenge I'll be taking on today?

It better be eagles deli!
Holy crap.....I can't believe I beat it in 52' 22".....it was insane!!!!
Holy crap.....I can't believe I beat it in 52' 22".....it was insane!!!!
Nice, must have been a challenge; assuming 1 hour time limit?
I beat the Eagle's Deli challenge in Boston. It's one of the largest food challenges around and it consists of 6lbs of beef, 24 slices of cheese, 24 slices of bacon, 5lbs of fries, and a deli pickle.

Nice work! On my bucket list!
So you beat petes burger?
No, the one I beat had two extra patties and four more slices of cheese and bacon. Pete's burger is called the "Furious Pete" and is 5lbs of beef, where as the challenge had an extra pound of beef.
I know I couldn't finish that, but hell I'd try to wreck it all the same; looks great.
It was good at first, but the sheer amount of grease and sodium got to me really fast lol. This was the first challenge for me that really made me feel a significant amount of pain.

Ah, for some reason I was under the impression that Pete's was bigger. Nice job!

Yeah, the new version of the challenge that I had to take on was only completed by Joey Chestnut and Pat Bertoletti.
Thanks man! Now it's your turn to come out here and conquer this beast!
May end up going to Boston, have the inlaws up there and chances are my wife's grandfather will fly us up soon so they can see her before the baby is born.
Maybe I'll just look at that challenge from afar.
Couldn't find any good challenges in Ohio worth doing, most of them were expensive and not free or discounted. My brother wouldn't have been able to do his part for a pizza challenge.
So instead I came home and ordered a a whole sicilian at a local restaurant for myself. Waiter offered to get me a box before I was done.
That's cute buddy, I don't need one.

the fries make the burger looks small.

mad props man.
how bad was the pickle?
The pickle hate...
The pickle hate...
The only downside to burger challenges.
