more like 20
they have plenty of syrups you can use.
Hmm, well that sucks then.
No it does not
20 pancakes for 5$ you do the math
-
Do love IHoP pancakes, but if I am going there it's to get some of the great special ones they have; plain is all well and fine but may as well make the trip worth it.

Agreed with this for sure, BUT sometimes you just want to see how many you can take down for $4.99 haha!!!

Eat as much food as I can!
.

The prize:

Eternal Glory!

Final Thoughts:
Well, this was by far the DUMBEST idea I've ever had for a food challenge.. but.. I DID IT! 25,000 calories, all taken down in the span of ~12-13 hours. Quite honestly, I'd NEVER suggest to eat anywhere near this amount to anyone. I've never felt more sick in my entire life after countless eating challenges. To be a little bit more clear though, I personally believe it was doing the "broken yolk challenge" as my first meal..that set me up for the majority of the pain during the day.. as I trained AFTER that. Which was what made me feel like I was almost on the verge of death. Try doing cardio, heavy squats, deadlifting, and benching after consuming 7 pounds of food and almost 25,000mg of sodium. Yeah, not too enjoyable... Heh. The broken yolk challenge itself was pretty fun, I was NOT going for time as I wanted to enjoy myself and pace myself because I knew that I had to take down A LOT of food afterwards. I managed to do it in 50 minutes, got the meal free and walked out!
I did my BEST to try to minimize cost as much as possible with this challenge. Other than having to pay for all of the gatorades, the candy, the KFC and Panda Express and the ingredients for the "Ultimate Cookie" I would say that I did pretty well! All in all, the 25,000 calorie day (well, 15,000 calories of it was what I REALLY had to pay for) cost me around 65$ total.. which wasn't too shabby!
My favorite part of the day was by FAR my "Home-made Peanut Butter Butterfinger Cookie" which was LOADED with deliciousness and beats the hell out of ANY cake, pie, or dessert concoction out there! The recipe and ingredients were SUPER simple:
Ingredients:

1.50 cup, All-purpose Flour
0.75 cup(s), Kroger
0.75 cup(s), White Granulated
50.00 g (1 egg), Egg
2.00 Tbsp, Peanut Butter Baking Chips
2.00 TBSP, Milk Chocolate Chips
1.00 tsp, Pure Vanilla Extract
50.00 g (2Tbsp), Creamy Peanut Butter.
0.50 cup, Butter - Salted

Recipe:

1. Start by taking flour + 1/2 tsp baking soda + 1/4 tsp salt in bowl
2. Next take .75 cups brown sugar + .75 cups white sugar + 1 egg in separate bowl and mix with one WHOLE stick of melted butter
3. Mix in 1 tsp vanilla extract
4. Mix with flour concoction until "paste like".
5. Mix in 4 servings chocolate chips (I usedPB chips)
6. Pour ontop of baking dish
7 Pop in oven at 375 for 20-25 Minutes
8 Enjoy!

All in all, this was a pretty fun challenge. I got the idea after watching "Beastaesthetics" and "RZ fitness" try it on youtube and wanted to see how much I could take down!
Stay tuned for the next one!
Some Snapshots from the day!
Starting off STRONG!
" A dozen-egg omelet filled with mushrooms, onions and American cheese smothered with our own house-made chili and more cheese. Served on a 15-inch pizza pan with a generous pile of home fries and two biscuits. No substitutions please. For one person only and there is one-hour time limit. Winners will go down in history on our Hall of Fame Plaque. GO FOR IT!!!"
My 2nd to last challenge last Feb was with Ross via "The Pancake Monster". The only time I ever did one with him actually. It was at Brian's 24 in downtown San Diego for a AHA fundraiser of all things. Winner got $500 gift card to the venue and every person who finished had $50 donated to the AHA as well as their $10 entry fee. No finish no big deal, you just lost the entry fee. He and I were neck and neck every bite of the way but I manged to pull ahead by 17 seconds (17 minutes final time and at the time new record that lasted 6 days prior to "The Mantis" beating it by 3 minutes). Never had I been pushed so hard to keep pace in an eating challenge. In his defense pancakes are one of his last choices (my top choice) for food challenges, he hates pure starch heavy contest much like I do fried food and cheese challenges. Like Bob said.....he is a legit contender that does not get the attention he likely deserves.
You did really well. It is true that the food in that contest was really bad for me since I really didn't enjoy it. Was fun though and I appreciate the gift card :)
You should of partook
24 in 6 minutes I think you could of held down or beat ross
guy does not get enough recognition (quality eater IMO) nothing to go huge like top 5-10, but still good none the less

Thanks. I'm interested to compete with Erik sometime. He came to my attention via him defeating Oink and Moo challenge, which I had previously failed. He definitely has a good capacity, probably better than mine at the time. But there is a difference between a steady paced eating challenge and a sprint (typical contest 5-10 minute time). I tend to start faltering and slowing way down after about 15 minutes. Not that I haven't beaten capacity challenges, but I think my sweet spot is under 15 minutes. People like Naader and probably Erik tend to beat me in longer contests and food challenges. But I still know I am a force to be reckoned with in short/medium length speed eating contests. For some reason, it is true as people mentioned I don't always get credit for being a top eater, even though I am generally giving good results. Probably because when I was in MLE I was competing against the very best in the world and thus I was getting my ass royally kicked and lacked the motivation to get better. On the independent circuit, I've become a better eater than I was back when I was in MLE. And it's a lot more fun!

Haha yeah. I used these forums a little bit many years ago, but haven't been here forever (something like 4 or 5 years). I'm getting more interested in lifting again since I've been making easier strength gains lately. It seems the older I get, the easier it is to gain muscle/strength - so it's been more fun to lift since I've been having noticeable results. Though not so easy to keep the body fat away. So trying to get more active in the forums and maybe learn some stuff as I journey back into heavier lifting. At the very least, it's a good place to make snarky comments and brag about competitive eating conquests :)

So I am planning on heading up for that burger eating challenge tomorrow! Does anyone have any last tips that have done eating challenges before? I plan on getting a lift in late that morning then will do the challenge around 3ish or so.. I feel like I should eat as normal that day until then, definitely a breakfast and then maybe something really light right after my workout?

I would load up the night before, stretch your stomach (veggies + Water), and just do liquids in the AM, load up the liquids early (9-10) like a half gallon or so and then just sip on them till the challenge (stretch the stomach in the AM). My 2 cents.
