You don't recognize your friends?
This is going to be fun.
Just got back to land today after 24 solid days at sea. Had to check and see what's up in the eating challenge world lately. Hope you all know its like 2 weeks to Randy Santel's first ever formal eating challenge site/database come out for the world to see. Its eatfeats x100 from what he has told/shown me.
See what you guys are taking on or finding is my only catharsis for challenges since I have 10-12 weeks yet till I get the shot to do another one myself between powerlifting meets to make weight for and time at sea. So not cool! Appetite never been so strong before as the gainz keep coming this offseason!
Good stuff going on here with the YT vids!

I work for the Navy as a DoD civilian afloat fitness director for an aircraft carrier. Where the ship goes we go.....24/7. This was my 6th and longest stint at sea so far since taking the gig almost 2 years ago.

10-12 weeks for my own personal needs via powerlifting meets and work travel. After that it all depends on the Navy RIMPAC schedule which I cannot post up publicly due to ships OPSEC parameters but lets just say its not in stone yet and when ever it does start it will be for 8 weeks time. That will be tacked on to my 10-12 weeks pushing me to late September or early October before I have any lengthy time back on land to consider doing an eating challenge that would now have to be over 35 miles away since I did all the close by ones that have at least a 30 minute time limit.
Browse this thread occasionally, haven't seen anyone talk about Frohungry, newer youtuber with some eating stunts and a couple challenges; pretty good and amusing.

Buffalo Wild Wings “Blazin Wing” Challenge
The Location
Buffalo Wild Wings, San Diego California
The Challenge
Buffalo wing chain Buffalo Wild Wings has something called the “Blazin’ Wing Challenge.” For $12.00, you get a dozen of the chain’s chicken wings, slathered in their signature “Blazin’” sauce, the top end of the heat scale in the Buffalo Wild Wings array of sauces. The challenge? Eat them all, in less than six minutes. Complete the challenge, and you get a tee shirt, and your photo on the wall of fame.
After you sign a waiver, absolving the restaurant of responsibility in the event you should begin vomiting uncontrollably, or go blind, there are a few more details to consider. During the six minute challenge, you can’t have anything to drink. You can’t use any dipping sauces, like blue cheese, that would dampen the heat. You can’t use a napkin. You can’t use anything but your mouth to strip meat from the bone. And you can’t touch your face.
Results/Thoughts
Win! Ended up beating the challenge in 1 minute in 57 seconds and set the record at that location!
This was my very first “spicy challenge”. I
more of a volume challenge, I had never attempted anything spicy before. I never even thought of doing the challenge until my girlfriend and I were driving past the restaurant and I thought “Hey, they have a pretty decent food challenge from what I remember”. I went in, ordered it, and they stopped the music and announced my name and the entire restaurant cheered me on.
They let me try a taste of the “blazin sauce” beforehand, so I had an idea of what I was going for. The challenge itself was DEFINITELY easier than I expected, I knew I would be able to stomach the 12 wings easily.. (probably 4 or 5 orders of them) and the sauce wasn’t that hot. Overall, it was great and I’d do it again.. THIS WAS MEANT TO BE MY “return” back into the "eating challenge world” as I expect to be returning to eating challenges again very soon, and my next one should be in the coming weeks.
Stay tuned!

Just got back in from a 12 day sea trial with the command today. As luck would have it while looking at hotels around Waikiki on Oahu Island where my command will be in port for 14 days (June 25-July 8) of RIMPAC......I happend to have found 4 kick ass challenges I can do within 6 miles or less from my hotel!
Moose McGillycuddy's - http://www.moosewaikiki.com/Breakfast.html (scroll to bottom)

I have about 6 hikes, 4 Naval historical sites and 4 other major attractions I am set to either lead or take part in during the 2 weeks as well as the 4th of July Luau for all international commands so getting all 4 in may be asking a bit much but 3 of them I think I can rock out. Being a breakfast fanatic I would likely drop the burger challenge in favor of the other 3. Will see!

I attempted one last night. It was kinda on. Whim. I wasn't super hungry and kinda had to be talked into it. Was a pulled pork sandwich on top of a buffalo chiken sandwich on top of a 10 oz bacon cheeseburger with a never ending lb of fries. I got through the sandwich part and about half the fries but they got me (30 min time) maybe if I had eaten less through the day. The waitress said shed never seem anyone eat the whole sandwich before Others took pics I'll add in when I get them

The burger challenge I want to do has a pound of chili-cheese fries & a pound of chili-cheese tots.. I thought this might be the hardest part of the challenge, and it sounds like it is! So much starch!!! Nice effort though man, can't wait to see the sandwich :)

It was bigger than I expected. Reading it ibthought it was all stacked on one bun but it was like 3 separate sandwiches stacked up
How do you brahs prepare for a challenge, i might try this 3lb burger under 14 min challenge next week with my brahs and not sure if i should fast, drink plenty of water before hand or what...

Not much really. If I plan to do one I'll try to eat less that day. Last night was kinda impromptu so I didn't do anything. No "prep"
I follow Randy Santel and his night before salad tactic and then his morning of eating/go train routine. See his site for exactly how he does it. Its simple, painless and easy to implement and it works!
I went 24-0 after starting to use it before my challenge stint April 13 to March 14. The only challenge I gave up on was when I went in cold turkey. 3 or so months later came back and beat it in 21 minutes. Proof is in the pudding....but hey, this is just what works for me (and Randy of course).
PS.....not a fan of trying to "train" during the week or weeks leading to a contest like the big name eaters do......not possible with my job demands.

Limit your intake/water leading up to the event to leave some space for the meal, use the water to help push down the food if you need to (especially speed contests) and limit during your event to prevent filling your stomach (large meals).
You could try to cut back, or fill up on veggies (like randy does and which was stated in here to stretch your stomach) but if you have a huge appetite by nature you should have nothing to fear on a 3lb burger. they go down pretty easy.
i know furious pete stated in one of his Q&A when asked that he goes on a liquid diet the day before (mostly milk and protein shakes + BCAA's/EAA's) to help keep food out of his stomach to prepare for the volume of food he eats or does in the contests.

I have a 40oz blender shake/protein fruit smoothie every day but that has nothing to do with eating challenges at all. Its just a lifestyle thing I do with all the fitness classes I teach each day I cant always stomach solid food meals before and after classes. Outside of Randy's tips I have not done anything for food challenge training in my life......just dont much care to do so honestly.
