Great read, very helpful.
I can relate to the certain points mentioned in your article. Shame on me. LOL.
Lol this is so true

You're doing a bench press. Now you've done your last rep, and your arms are already weakened, and you lower the dumbbells to your side. Now you twist your arm to put it on the ground, this is risky. Do you need me to bring you a doctor's quote for it?
I'm doing bench press, with 90 lb dumbbells, I press out my last rep & lower the weight in a controlled manner & place them onto my thighs, below my hips, I then sit-up & lower the weights in a nice & controlled manner to the ground.

quit now while you still can.
but seriously tho.
what bothers me THE MOST, THE MMMMMMOOOOOSTTTTTTTTTT
Is when these people use the ****ing benches to hold their "dumbells"
Also the hoarders...man they take 20-35 dumbells and dont even let you borrow some for 1-2 sets because they need to have total control of the dumbells!!!!
that's just not true, unless you're weak. i slowly set the dumbbells down when i am doing shoulder press or dumbbell press or anything like that. lying there slamming the weights is for idiots, you don't HAVE TO do it for anything over 40 pounds. i was just shrugging 80 lb dumbbells and not dropping them last night as a matter of fact.
if you drop the weights incessantly then there is something wrong with the way you are lifting.
I shoulder press 95lb dumbells for reps and get up to 125lb (max at my gym) bench, and have no need to slam them. They do make a thud somewhat as I do controlled drops/set downs, but nothing like a legit drop or slam. I do not get injured doing this.
I hate the guys who slam weights loudly. The majority of them that I see doing it are phucking weaker than I am, too. Saw a big fat/muscle guy doing single arm rows on the rack itself with an 85lb dumbell, literally throwing it on the ground after each set. That chit isn't necessary.
Great post (and relatable!) Thanks!
The your doing it wrong picture is great!
I need to train hard and sweat more by the sounds of it.
Buddy did you realize that your probably the douchebag that nobody likes at the gym? Because i sure as hell did....you should just shutup and do your workout...people clean the workout station as a common curtosy towards the next guy evennif you wash your hand you still have bacteria....and even you said if your not sweating at the gym then you are not doing it right....and i dont know about you but i dont want your fuxking sweat on me....**** your dumb
Bad form should be on that list.
nice motivation
Lol so much anger ITT.
All very good points!
lol, the girl in the motivation is using a smith machine for squats... a good way to hurt your self............... don't know what wrong with me that i look at the machine though.
LOL, Kinda noticed both as well!
But that's because I see a lot of people using the INCLINED smith machine for squatting. And it worries me... I mean, using a regular one to knowingly perform Hack squats and focus on the quads can be ok. Don't get me wrong!
But performing a regular back squat on an inclined Smith machine is just weird. Although not that dangerous, it really ****s up your body mechanics and basically means that you won't be doing (or be able to do) a normal squat. And that's nonsense, because squats are so great!!! :)
weight:150
Things I hate at the gym:
People that don't wipe the machines
The guy that stands behind me really close at the water fountain even though there are 2 of them
When basic girls walk on the treadmills when I really need one
When someone works out right next to me and there are several machines available
When guys stare and they are clearly with their girl..

Yea that pisses me off especially when they are just walking at the slowest pace watching the TVs and I want to actually do a workout (I just wanna scream at them your wasting your ****in time lol). Just gotta let it roll off your shoulders and accept that they have just as much right to use it as I do.
Fun article to read! Ive seen a lot of this in all the gyms I've been to!
Not sure how I feel about 3... I can totally tax my CNS and be completely shot with a heavy single DL and squat workout and not break a sweat. I think I break more of a sweat trying to calculate 92.75% of my 10rm
Lol good **** brah. Definitely used to do a few of these when I was 14 and just starting out :P
nice motivation. Also teenagers who just work arms. I have a friend like that unfortunately.
I agree :)
