agreed, i'm always lifting after a long work day and sometimes ill forget to pack shorts in my bag or even forget to pack my sneakers so i just workout in my khakis or my loafers. im in the gym, im not going to leave because i dont look the part. i def found the OP to be a judgmental little *******.
nice input agree with you dear sir
Hey I'm def noobtastic over here but ive been working out for almost a month now doing all my upperbody mon wen fri while doing my legs opposite days with light cardio in between. I'm gaining stength and can see and feel a difference for sure but i wonder if I'm hindering myself not isolating certian muscle groups on certian days. I'm also supplementing whey, creatine, testastorone, ammino, and eating everything I can get my hands on. Gained 7lbs in less than a month.
Go hard or go home!
Like it.
I like how when I have a comment thread JUST LIKE THIS I get cussed at by a bunch of non-bodybuilders. I agree with nearly all of these. My post was pretty much just like this and they all were calling me a F@G b/c I was being rude to other ppl yet almost every thread has guys acting like they are tough shots all the time. Just b/c my power thing is red doesn't mean I don't lift, just means I created this username just for the BB.com store two yrs ago and never came onto the forums until February of this year.
But good post!!!
Cool story bro ...
that's just not true, unless you're weak. i slowly set the dumbbells down when i am doing shoulder press or dumbbell press or anything like that. lying there slamming the weights is for idiots, you don't HAVE TO do it for anything over 40 pounds. i was just shrugging 80 lb dumbbells and not dropping them last night as a matter of fact.
if you drop the weights incessantly then there is something wrong with the way you are lifting.
I agree dropping 40's is a little odd. Even when I first started I never dropped the now lighter weights. I only drop them after heavy presses with anything over 110's just so I don't have to crash them on my knees. There is nothing wrong with dropping the weights but it needs to be an understandably heavy weight.
strong implants
I don't have to drop DBs when I'm pressing 70s over my head. I've never hurt my joints or ligaments and have very average flexibility. Fail info on that part. Otherwise, ok.
No need to try to make excuses for dropping 40 lb weights. If you can't control 40 lbs at 160 bodyweight.....
i understand your standpoint. but it's not really helpful for anyone
I work in a gym and if OP was f ucking our DB's around he'd be given one warning then asked to leave. Its not your equipment and you have no entailment to treat it like that.
I don't drop DBs unless they're too heavy for me to safely put down. If that's the case, I go as low as I can with them before dropping. Although it sounds like dropping them is a good way to avoid injury, it's not always the case. Quite often, if you've got to drop, it's because you're knackered. And when you're knackered, you get careless. And that's when accidents happen. I never drop until I've got some composure back and know what I'm doing.
But if I can, I try to sit up with them so that I can place them down. If they're heavy, it normally takes a few attempts to do and I look upon it as a good ab workout.

Same here. I saw a guy that was about 6'1 160 pull out the 140's and flat DB press em. Knocked out about 12 reps, kicked em up, and racked em. No slamming, no dropping, no grunting, no attention whoring. Excuses for letting DB's go from 3 feet up in the air=invalid
Yeah wtf at dropping the weights...I've never dropped a weight in my life
Sorry about that I totally forgot to change the 10 to 8. I didn't want to sound repetitive just to fit 10.
9. Left boob
10. right boob
This article was at best 50% right, 50% wrong. Anyone who doesn't know anything about bodybuilding should be able to write down random theories and be about as accurate.
How is this thread still going! I remember this terrible article.
OP probably gave up on bodybuilding a long time ago lol.
This thread is awful.
You can lower weights
You can give people advice
You should clean up after yourself
You don't always come out of a gym dripping especially if you're doing 1rms with 3 minute breaks
This is what happens when people who weigh 153lbs try to come across as pros.#
OP, consider yourself negged, noob.
Thread made me laugh! I agree 100%
I was at the Gym yesterday. I see this idiot guy using the leg extension machine doing 50 lbs for 2 to 3 reps, then rest for 2 to 3 mins, then does another 2 to 3 reps, then pulls out his cell phone and texts, then does another 2 to 3 reps.
Drove me nuts!
Decent article about working out, and I like the point about abs. Most people ignore that diet is most important. Thanks for the reminder!
SevenMealsaDay.com
yeah bad form should be on that list too!
great article
nice motivation. Also teenagers who just work arms. I have a friend like that unfortunately.
I knew a guy like that. Had really good defined arms... and a ridiculously "shrunken" chest.
You're better off never lifting and just looking skinny IMO.
yeah bad form should be on that list too!
Couldnt agree more, start off with bad habits and most stay that way.
I work in a gym and if OP was f ucking our DB's around he'd be given one warning then asked to leave. Its not your equipment and you have no entailment to treat it like that.
entailment.
this is the dumbest article i've ever seen on BB.
u srs brah?
Don't come to the gym, and do exercises, and leave without even breaking a sweat. If you're not sweating even in a cold gym---YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.
And I thought I was just a sweaty bastard. Who knew?
I overheard some old *******s in LA Fitness's locker room saying that they were "only doing half a workout today", which consisted of leaning on several machines while talking and 3 sets of Iso-Low Row Hammer Strength 1/4 reps.
What has been seen..........
