I'm currently running X-Factor Advanced and I am dosing it: 4 caps pre-workout, and 2 caps/day on non-workout days. If I had another bottle I'd probably dose it 4/caps day.
Similarly, if I had the older formula, I'd dose it 8caps pre-workout and 4 caps/day on non-workout days.
The vasodilation from ArA is great, which makes dosing it pre-workout even more lucrative. I'm using this with Presurge and getting wicked pumps that are second to none from my supplementation experience.
So your pre-workout dosing helps with pumps but is close enough to the workout to gain the benefits of intra-workout supplementation with regards to skeletal muscle? How long pre-workout are you taking it?
I am taking 4 a day of the old formula and based on your previous posts I was taking them intra-workout. Sorry if I am missing something...

45-60 min.

This question is based on what I had previously asked, but, when you "run" x factor, do you tend to avoid intra workout drinks?

I did not. BCAA is good I think. Avoid things that reduce inflamation since this is how xfactor works

It's not the inflammation factor that I'm curious about, it's the insulinogenic factor/minimizing AA delivery to skeletal muscle. I just was wondering if neuron sticks to pre/post workout nutrition when on xf or still takes things such as bcaa/hydrowhey/leucine during his workouts.
More along the lines of, is maximizing AA delivery to skeletal muscle more important than remaining anabolic/anti-catabolic throughout the workout. Personally, I just started XF and I'm avoiding intra workout products, but since neuron is effin smart as ****, I was very inclined to know his protocol.
EDIT: had my first workout today dosing 1.5 grams bulk AA preworkout with 7 caps of presurge and an addition 2 grams of GMS. All I can say is holy ****ing pump balls batman.

Although it would be ideal, insulin takes a backseat while working out regardless as to what nutrient you are putting in your body.
For the sake of brevity, when working out, the body builds up metabolites which act as chemokines in regulating the energetic environment. The reason why LPL is turned on with glucagon in skeletal muscle during exercise is just a function of necessity.

You're using your head though.
Great feedback. Let's keep this up.

While I more than appreciate the thought provoking reply (which I will indeed chew on and think about), let's see if I can't just get a straight answer to this question. ;)
edit: here I'll try to earn it then I guess
My guess is that for the first 1-2 weeks, it would be a good idea to avoid intra workout products to maximize AA "saturation", and after that the effects of a few insulinogenic aminos/peptides during a workout will be a mostly moot point and not noticeably mitigate AA's moa since "saturation" is hit and now being "maintained". I will be honest though, I know very little about fat uptake into muscle cells hence all of the terms in "quotations", but this is my best guess at the moment.

No, don't avoid them. They won't stimulate insulin while working out, so they are fine.
What they will do is provide substrate and perhaps blunt proteolysis; which is the ultimate goal. PostWO is when insulin becomes relevant.

wow great thread, thankfully im only 12 days in and caught this topic
from reading the thread my new dosing will be
-4 caps ArA empty stomach before breakfest(or a meal) (perhaps with my other stuff like creatine, multi, activate xtreme?)
-wait 1/1.5hour - 4 caps ArA
-wait 30minutes- take a preworkout shake (carbs and protein)
-then off to the gym.
hate to bother but, am i on the right track guys?

So what's you opinion about ara on non workout day. When is the optimum time for its intake?

It was posted twice. Empty stomach.. not with insulin spike.
Perhaps upon waking.. 2 caps. Then two caps in afternoon 60 minutes before and after a meal

Day 2 Feedback/ Legs + Abs:
Preworkout: 1 scoop Mesomorph, 3-4 grams GMS, 1 gram AA
Oh my god. Second day on XF and this **** is getting nuts. The only difference is the inclusion of AA, and it's made a huge difference as compared to pumps/fullness with the Meso/GMS.
My current setup is/will be:
3 days/week @ 1.5g AA pre workout
1 day/week @ 1g AA pre workout
3 days/week @ .5g AA upon waking
This leaves me to dose it less on leg day (so I can walk, which was hard enough today). Will report back. So far, I feel like I am already on week 2 (pumps/fullness wise) as compared to the last time I ran XF (when I took it with meals).
Addendum: I seem to be hungrier already. Seriously.
BIG THANKS to neuron for sharing this dosing insight. I'd say based on my initial experience, the science behind it is dead on.

Supplementing with ArA is a little different on non-workout days due to the fact that it needs to be properly emulsified. It's OK to spread it out throughout the day with food.

Nice. GMS is also a very nice emulsive agent, and so will expediate proper absorption.

Would the ideal be a low insulin time with a little GMS? I'm thinking pre breakfast (30+ mins) with like, 2 grams of GMS.

If I were to dose the old formula this way, how long should I run it for?

Thanks. I'll try that.

Glad I found this thread- I will be starting my second cycle of Xfactor March 1st.
Wish I knew this all before my first cycle.
Going to do 75 days @ 1500mg this time.

Great product imo.
Used the pre-workout dosage as well.
Gained a lot of size and strength on my legs.

so PRE WORKOUT with perhaps some GLYCERGROW would be a good option ??

I still seem to be pretty perplexed as to why people still supplement with arachidonic acid.

Arachidonic acid starts the acute/chronic inflammation pathways. Pathologically speaking, it's dumb.

I'm still a bit confused. It looks like taking 10g preworkout is best?

10grams? of Ara?
No... 1000mg pre workout (4 caps) you could run 1250mg or 1500mg per day if you wanted to push it... I would run 3 caps AM when waking up... and 3 caps pre-workout in that case.
If your running 4 caps per day... do like 1 or 2 in AM and then 1 or 2 pre workout
