Turns out to be a 1180 which is 2 1175's turned into a cable crossover.. plus all of the other stuff for that price.. Is that still too much?
If you can flip everything and end up with the crossover for $800 or $900 I think that is a good price.

Seem like a decent deal for $88, and that is such a weird price you could probably get it for a little less (like $75), especially if it has been listed a while.
I found it on Pro Maxima's site here, but they don't list any weight limits. I saw it on another site selling new for $220 (although the Craigslist listing says he got it for $175).
It looks solid, but that yellow is a little different.

I wish there was a weight capacity! It looks pretty nice. I think I might try to lower the price like u said. The seller keeps telling me it's commercial quality and all that haha. Wantin to get rid of it bad.

Promaxima is used locally in the high schools and its very heavy duty stuff = dont worry about the weight limit - if the stuff can handle football training camps it will handle anything you could possibly throw at it unless your a mutant. Now that is a good deal, if you keep messing around someone else in your area might see this and scoop it out from under you. Promaxima's shipping is crazy expensive so that bench is probably $200+ to buy and $200+ to ship!

Donforeman is correct, you don't need a weight capacity, it'll handle what you can throw at it. If you like the bench and the color, its a great deal on a commercial bench. It isn't as pretty or fashionable as some benches, but its better than about any you'll find for that price. I had one last year (got it from a friend on here) and it was a very nice piece of equipment.
-
Thanks guys. I think I will set up a time and go look at it. I'm pretty much on a budget atm so this looks perfect for me. I'll post pics of everything i've been trying to do in my garage with starting out my home gym soon!

He also says that it weighs 45lbs and is 60" long. Probably really 72" long (just a wild guess) so offer him no more than $20. Probably your basic CAP made in china bar.
And look! The bench is only a year old and has never been used!!!!!!

The seller seems pretty adamant about a buyer needing to take all of that stuff together. If you are only looking to buy the barbell, chances are you are gonna have to keep looking. I am willing to bet lots of YOUR money that he bought that weight set with the barbell included and it only weighs 30-35lbs.

Anyone on here seeling a power rack in the san fernando valley area?

That listing is on a number of CL sites. The stuff is actually located near Boston, MA.
I gave the guy a call to check it out, he was going to get me some pictures but I haven't got any yet. $.50 per lb for plates doesn't get me very excited anyway, even if it was local. He said they had some "AFS" Olympic plates. I couldn't find them on Google, he said they were out of California. I figure this may just be an East Coast branch of usedgymequipment.com or something.
If someone had a gym to outfit I guess it is an opportunity, but nothing strikes me as being a particularly great deal.
I'm hoping to find out what they have as far as those utility benches mentioned for $95 each.
If I don't hear back from the guy *shrug* whatever.

Thanks for the info on that ad. I wasn't aware it was all over the place. The deals didn't seem great to me but they didn't seem horrible but then I haven't dealt with too much commercial equipment. Thought it might be soemthing for someone who wanted commercial equipment to check out. The Plattsburgh CL ads are bare bones for weights so I check out VT for the times I get across the lake or to see if anything motivates me too cross the lake.

After posting this I found the Official Barbell thread and have been schooled. I don't want a piece of crap, but I don't want to spend a ton either. I'll keep looking. Thanks.

Side note: Have you checked the Play It Again Sports in Plattsburgh? I haven't been there myself but evidently they carry fitness equipment. Is that your listing on CL that says, "WTB: Metal Weights, Leg Press, Leverage Machines"? I am just across the Lake in Burlington myself. Our PIAS doesn't stock fitness gear, which I'm actually thinking helps me flip stuff. Anyhow, raising a beer in your direction. Cheers
-
I've checked the PIAS in P-Burgh. Nothing great imo. First few times they had nothing for used weights but did pick up 4 45lbers a few months ago. Just Cap plates but better then nothing. They were like 48/lb tax included. Was a little sad when I went the though, they had one 100 lb plate (if they had two i would have gotten the pair) and a single 25 lb Ivanko plate. Makes me wonder how much Ivanko someone had sold to them. Figured a single 25 wasn't worth picking up but would have loved to have scooped up a whole set or so. I've checked out the Burlington one as well and did see what you said about the lack of weight equipment.
That is my ad on CL. Always looking for weights but don't really need anything. At this point just holding out for deals. I'm actually an hour south of P-Burgh in the ADK's and there just not much out here whether its CL, Ebay, or yard sales.
Cheers from across the lake!

Been looking on Cl for a while and my area doesn't seem to yield many good deals. Tired of trying to workout at my overcrowded Uni Gym.
Found this:
elpaso.en.craigslist.org/spo/2818666848.html
"gold's gym XR 18.9 weight bench, with Olympic size bar, 2 curl bars, 4 dumbbell bars, 13 clamps, 8(10lbs), 8(5lbs), 3(25lbs), 2(45lbs), ...$300"
good enough deal?
-
looking at this power rack and bench. the rack seems super simple not sure if it's a good buy. I do need a bench and getting a hoist adjustable bench with it makes the deal worth while. thoughts?

It would be a good deal if he takes $100. If you are desperate, $150. Only 285lb of weight (with THREE 25s? what to do with the third one?) Guess there are different styles so it doesn't match but all Olympic plate. Bench is consumer level and I would take a wild guess and say that the Olympic curl bar is hollow. Well, he does have 13 clamps too.....
You should be able to do much better.
Good luck.

don't see bench in picture but looks like a solid enough rack. Platform is a bonus but do not tell the seller that! Without a brand name, maybe get it for $200 or so?

You guys are lucky. It seems that you guys are always finding great deals on CL. This is the best deal I've seen in my area.

I can't quite tell which bench that is in the picture, but I'd double-check on the model before you buy that setup. As for the squat/press stand: unless if you're o-lifting, I think it's pretty useless.
As for the weight, the amount you should pay really depends on the going price in your area. I wouldn't pay more than 50 cents a pound on used plates that aren't fancy. I know others would pay even less per pound depending on the going rate in their area.

how is that rack useless? a fair price to offer for everything if you want to keep it is $200. try to get it for less tho. anything more then you're paying too much.

He already has a power rack, so for that reason alone they are almost useless for him. The bench looks cheap too.
Hes, in the equipment thread you said you had some time and money, I would wait for something better to come along, IMHO.
