I took Ryan's advice and got some OneWays, wow, they're great!
One way is good, but BIG WHEY is that whey (ha ha) to go, their 100g bars, and their delicious...kinda like eating 2x oneway bars at once.
I don't think anyone needs 100 grams of whey in one sitting, unless they want to fart for a week..
Tri-O-Plex anybody
I love the Detour bar taste, and I still down one when I want to cheat a bit. However, it does appear there's a bit more sugar in them than labeled:

caveat emptor!
Well, it's a "protein candy bar". If you want the healthiest, get something else. But for me, this is a great replacement for real candy, and it's pretty healthy

It's not 100g of whey. The bar itself weighs 100g. It's generally about 27g protein.
I was just wondering, does anyone know what the net carbs mean on some of the bars. Like on them it says it doesn't influence blood sugar, but then they're still included in the calorie count.. Are these types of carbs better than just eating normal carbs?

Net carbs = sugars. The other carbs may be fiber, or sugar alcholos which do not raise blood sugar level. It's helpful for diabetics, and there's something to be said about not spiking blood sugar if you're trying to avoid adding fat. That said, a cal is a cal!

It's not a bad profile, relatively speaking. My issue is not so much the sugar content, but rather the mislabelling. 2.5 x more than listed is pretty significant!
Yeah, definitely
For Meal Replacement bars, I like myoplex sport, metrx big 100, and Kong bars. For just protein bars, I like detour, metrx protein plus, and nitro-tech.
I like the PowerBar ProteinPlus ones. The cookies n cream flavor is the best. Kind of a lot of sugars but 24g of protein... good for first thing in the morning if that much sugar is not a problem for you.

I like Meso-Tech bars..and Kong bars
I'd have to say cliff Builders , Because they don't taste like cement mix.

FYI, the protein in those bars is soy. If that matters to you.
If I HAD to eat something, the Detours aren't that bad but they leave you with a bad after taste. I enjoy RIVETS which are similar to Steel Bars. I also like Muscle Sandwich even though they really aren't good for you.
The best protein bar I have ever used is the Labrada Lean Body, in peanut butter. It has 32 grams of protein, 28 grams of carbs, 7 grams of fat, and 160 mg. of potassium. I can, easily, eat 3 bars a day, every day! They taste fantastic, especially when refrigerated. I recommend the Lean Body bar to all serious bodybuilders.
U-turn, Detour, or One-Way. All are great, the rest tast like cardboard.

IMO, these bars are very efficient in the nutrition department.
They have quality carbs and protein, and are excellent for meal replacement.
More protein then the MASS BARS but less price. Great taste.
protein--42g
carbs---37g
fat------8g
sugars--1g only!
hehe, ordering a box now :).. thx for link
PowerBar ProteinPlus Carb Select bars
Chocolate peanut butter mmmm..
Trioplex taste great and have decent ingredients. Not sure if the lable is correct though. Bottom line, you're 100 percent better using shakes than crappy bars.

Sorry man, they taste awful. You'll need plenty of water to get these down. Best profile I've seen for a bar though.
I like the new Grow bars and the price can't be beat:

Protein bars were the first "nutrition" thing I got into years ago. I have tried nearly everyone imaginable, and I must concur that Trioplex are the best tasting----------and probably one of the healthiest. Consider this:
1. They are more of a true meal replacement (considering the calories, fat,
protein, etc.) and are probably one of the thickest.
2. They taste like food, not like cement mix (I LOVE that one)
3. They don't contain sugar alcohols (that I saw----let me know if I missed
it somewhere).
4. Like Met-Rx they are great for the car because they won't melt considering
they are not chocolate coated-------no maltitol!
Still, that said, I agree that shakes are superior. I am seriously thinking of drinking a good meal replacement shake in the mornings (like Myoplex) blended with some fruit. The bars are just too costly, and you probably are better off nutritionally with the shakes. Then I can do a good post-workout shake, and maybe one before bed. Not sure yet.
I like the ABB Steel bars. The chocolate peanut butter ones are to die for. I honestly think I could live off of them they are so good. I have only had them frozen because my friend kept them in his truck up in Iowa durring the winter. Really good.
I like Meso-Tech bars..and Kong bars
yes, the meso-tech bars are freakin delicious, but not that great nutrition-wise (not that any bars really are)... only muscletech product that i truly love
promax bars are freakin delicious. i like cookies 'n cream. got some glutamine and BCAAs too.
Tri-O-Plex anybody
Mmmmm I love Tri-O-Plex bars. My fav. ones are Berry and Smores! If you havent tried them already, what the hell are you waiting for? :p
