How am I doing so far? 36lbs lost in 5 months.
In college, I used to lift pretty religiously and maintained a pretty solid figure. Over the years, I let myself go a bit, while I still continued to lift my diet was terrible.
This year on January 19th, knowing that I was turning 30 in April, I decided I would get to single-digit body fat for the first time in my life. So, I went and got a DEXA, and to my dismay, I had a long road starting at 6'2 203lbs, and 28% BF.
Eight weeks later, on 3/15, I took another DEXA and dropped to 187.5lbs and 21.6% BF. A loss of 15.5lbs in 8 weeks.
My next DEXA was on 4/12, 4 weeks after the second. I was able to reach 18.2% body fat at 181.3lbs. A loss of 6.2lbs in the four weeks.
My 4th DEXA was on 5/11 when I came in at 176lbs at 14.3% body fat. A loss of 5.3lbs in the four weeks.
My last DEXA was 6/8, and I came in at 170.5lbs at 13% body fat. I lost another 5.5lbs. I was highly disappointed with this, so I increased my cardio by roughly 25 minutes daily this month. I also increased my gym intensity, maintaining a heart rate of approximately 160 BPM for the entire hour of my heavy lifting workouts.
This leads me to where I am currently as of 7/4, awaiting my next DEXA on 7/6. I am currently 167lbs, and weight loss has slowed considerably, which was always expected.
To date, I have lost 36lbs in 23 weeks. I have also managed to put on several lbs of LBM.
Currently, I do a 6-day split.
Chest/Back
Shoulders/Arms
Legs
Repeat
I do 45 minutes a day (7 days a week) of cardio slow steady-state incline walking and eat roughly 2000 calories daily; all scale weighed to the gram.
How's the progress thus far? Where do you guys think I will land on this DEXA in a couple of days? What tips and tricks do you have for going from low teens down to my goal of 7% BF?
