Hang clean form check
Okay...So from this thread....
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=144745621
I took your guys' advice to do the clean from a hang instead of doing it from the floor.
How is my form looking now? I was focusing on keeping a light bend in my knees and squeezing my shoulder blades together from the hang as per calistrength's instructional videos.
I also focused on snapping my elbows up and trying to get my arms parallel to the ground, but I noticed I had to open my hands a lot more.
How is my form coming along? Am I improving at all?

You seem to be pulling with your arms rather than hitting that bar.

The "drive" comes from driving the chest up.

Nice videos! Even though this is more toward snatches, they are still very helpful.
Thanks!

I wonder if the lifters in the east receive such complex explanations.

You're welcome. Same concept though.

Probably not lol. I can't imagine EE coaches/lifters talking about sweeping the bar and doing drills to such an exaggerated extent. I think we have all these complex explanations because they're meant for people who have a hard time learning. Pretty much if you need these you're probably not meant to oly lift competitively.

I don't think they give such complex instructions. I've talked with a few lifters/coaches and according to them, there just very basic type instructions and positions to hit during the lift.

All in the hips IMO
Try and get that "pop". Much of the power comes from the core hip base. Look at the video feces posted of the side view and look at the bend then extension of the hips and legs.
