I voted 'gaining a rep'.
Ultimately adding weight to the bar is more satisfying than adding reps, but I never lift for 1RM, so I couldn't vote for that.
Adding or losing a pound (or 10 pounds) is just a matter of manipulating calories and very easy by comparison. Getting stronger is HARD, especially once noob gains are behind you.
Probably worth noting that I've never cut below 13-14% and I imagine losing weight would become proportionately more difficult the leaner you get. Gaining weight is easy, but doing it while minimizing fat gain is hard.
Gaining or losing a pound isn't comparable to a new 1RM. Gaining a lb takes 2 weeks, losing a lb takes 5 days. 1RM are few and far between. Gaining 1 lb of lean mass maybe more comparable.
Bulking on ice cream and pizza is satisfying.
2 & 4 together....
That's the holy grail
With a little caveat
Bulking? Easiest thing in the world
Cutting? Easy but boring
Adding a rep? Pish
Adding a kilo? Nice...
But...
Adding to a quantifiable and comparable (to others in a similar categort) number under comp standards while getting lighter?.. Nutting
People can gain or lose a pound multiple times a day. I went with new 1rm.
Currently cutting, so losing a pound was my vote.
Adding another rep would be #2.
I haven't tried a 1 rep max since the late 90's. I'm a feeble little 54 year old guy.
Not on the poll.
Having a high Fat Free Mass Index with well below 15% body fat.
It takes consistent resolve and it's not easy, but it's very satisfying.

That would be nice. When I cut down to around 15% from being skinny-fat my FFMI was 17.675. 3 years later at the end of my last cut it was 19.17. Hoping to be over 20 eventually, but I don't think it's on the cards this year, muscle gains are just too slow now.
