Welp finally took some money outta my account for the first time to purchase a new (to me) toy cash. Anyone that's been here for a few years probably is aware I started with like $1,000 and added $1,000 x2 once 2 years in a row awhile back. Account got up to close to $20,000 at the peak when I had several very successful options calls in a row. Taking a little under half the account value to fund my purchase and I'm very happy about it. Hopefully I can manage to get my account back to the same size in a year or 2. I guess we shall see.
For those of you who are big ballers with 100s of shares of stock does anyone find selling covered options valuable? For those of you doing it, are you selling a call and a put option for each 100 shares you own?
Had no idea about your starting capital or trading history. Gjdm what toy you buy?
I’m convinced there is gonna be a recession/pullback in 2020 but holy fuk boys, no fees for buying shares now on TDA and a bunch of divident stonks paying 3-7%? I dunno if I can resist these urges.
Also fuk options, never going naked again but that wheel strategy mentioned above is legit.

holy fuark TGOD getting smashed
I once got exercised on 1000 AAPL shares because I had 10 calls that, at the last second, went ITM got exercised at the ATH of $700. It procedeed to crash at the following opening and I lost a chit ton. This was September 2013.
ALL $700,000 of it was on MARGIN!!!!
Fukkin hell, thats one thing Im glad I never did was sell options. Jesus man, how bad was the damage? Ive heard stories of it going the other way too.
I honestly recgonize I have a gambling problem with options. I get this huge fukin surge of energy thinking about the risks and possibility, its nuts. I just cant think of any of way to get t where I was outside of waiting 2 ****ing years. Its like i lost the whole plot of everything I was doing. I wouldve been bringing in 2-3k a week scalping with 65k, instead Im looking for bartending gigs again. Its piss. I am the financial jason genova

You know what brah, youre right. Its not the first time Ive been told this since finding out options. Valhallas a lie. Blowing this would set me back 2.5 more months, maybe longer and just make more depressed than i already am, knowing how much time and stress and effort Ive expended for no financial gain. I know Im going to get these urges, I cant stop them from happening until its out of my system for a long time. I have an opportunity to rent a room for 300 a month here in april, so if I can just hold off until then, I can survive. I judt hate feeling like life is passing me by, and that Ill never been sucessful enough to warrant celebration or recognition

Feeling more downside the next week or 2. I wish I could time a big move down, but it could happen at anytime with almost no warning. Anyone know when funds gotta start deleveraging when risk gets too high :D a certain volatility level mebe? ;)

I am getting a lot of urges to go hard into SPX puts but this market has been really punishing bears all year. Instead ive been selling SPY call spreads.

Well, fuk going into IB. Maybe Hedge Funds but working for those still hasn't been very lucrative in recent years

Markets up hoping for a partial deal w/china? pfffft. Nah brah. 0 chance of that happening imo... just trying to pick a high flier to cash in on when this mumbojumbo phase passes. Netflix, Aapl, or tsla perhaps.
Kr shares were a 16% profit and apple shares sold were like 11% so happy with those. Collected some nice dividends too while holding. Will probably rebuy Kroger when they go back to 52 week lows which seems inevitable. I'll probably buy even more when they break the lows and hit $18ish depending on overall market and sentiment. Lots going on in that sector.

Anyone want to start a hedge fund with me? lol. I need a job though, because I can't be living off the funds in my trading acct. which I'm trying to grow into a hedge fund.

Yisssss. Gains through the roof. We will make it a technology driven app hedgefund more accessible to modern day investors with active management more capable of executing based on our in-home algos and over 20 years combined trading experience trading everything from stocks and commodities all the way to futures and options. Best of all there are no management fees- we only collect a percentage of profits so if you don't profit neither do we!
I think we can make it big bruh ;)

It’s gotta be off-shore though. That way the profits can cleanly be reinvested without having to pay taxes.
Management fees are around 1%, and then 20% commission on profits made for clients is standard.

Posting from my remote desktop in the Bahamas.
We gotta undercut current market rates. either no management fees or 0.25%

Well first to be considered a hedge fund, you need an AUM of $1BB, and it costs $1 million to get the hedge fund structure. For now, I think it’d be only $10k to get it structured in a way to grow up to a hedge fund.

Now that you don't have much to play with, you have to make long term holds only. Day trading will wipe you out quickly with a small account, but at least most brokers removed most of their trading fees.

@realDonaldTrump: The deal I just made with China is, by far, the greatest and biggest deal ever made for our Great Patriot Farmers in the history of our Country. In fact, there is a question as to whether or not this much product can be produced? Our farmers will figure it out. Thank you China!
