35% bf is really bad....
35% bf is really bad....
What do you thing I need to get down to?
Judging by your pic you do not look like u have 35% bodyfat. I wud say mid twenties at most.

thats what i was thinking. and you can be 5'9 and 200 with less than 20% bf if you're packing muscle. you have some bf but i highly doubt its near 30%.
The scale I got today maybe wrong then idk
Get down to 20% 35% is bad.

I was 225 when I took that pic last season. I only weigh about 200 to 205 now. I think the scale is wrong because it seems awful high.
I've never had an accurate reading from one of those scales. Calipers are much more accurate.

Wait so you got this bodyfat reading on a scale?
Just putting your height and weight into that doesnt account for muscle, if you really want to know go get a legit testing.

So y'all think that scales are not accurate?
So y'all think that scales are not accurate?
Well it depends, you could be 200lbs and 35% bf depending on how much muscle mass u have.. plus its kind of hard to tell your bf from a pic with pads on lol

use this site, http://www.csgnetwork.com/healthcalc.html its problably not accurate but will atleast give you an idea where you are.
Scales are no where near accurate.
yea mine always says i have like 10% more bodyfat than i really do. there is no way im at 26% bodyfat as my scale indicates
You are using your BMI (body mass index) which is very bull****. Find a hospital that uses A BodPod or hydrostatic weighing. If your friend has a pool you can look up the process for hydrostatic weighing online. The margin for error on each is below 3%. Also idealy you want between 20-25% to maintian average bodyfat and a healthy life style. Anything above 34.99 is considered obease, but there is no way you are above 28.
dude thats ****in horrible and i aint tryna be mean but lemme put this this way for u
im the same height as u weigh 218
and have an 18%bodyfat(after a bulk)
u needa relly 2work on that especially for health reasons
I've never had an accurate reading from one of those scales. Calipers are much more accurate.
Some scales are accurate (The REALLY EXPENSIVE ONES), my gym has one, not really a scale in the traditional sense, but it uses bioelectric impedence and gives a whole bunch of stats other than weight and bodyfat
And i have gotten the same numbers with calipers as I have with the scale, done moments apart
wow. thats high. you dont look like it from the pic. how did you take your bf% test? i learned in my kinesiology class that when people use the body scale, its a high chance that its off. It can be off by 10% or less.
not to beat a dead horse, but the hand helds, scales, and even calipers aren't the most accurate. they all have places where you can have error with things like sweaty palms. the best is taking the number via hydrostatics.
Had one of those scales and it said at 6'3~ i needed to be 155 pounds to be healthy. So i dont really trust them.
Good Luck, Have Fun, GOD Bless.

Ya I think those things are ****ed up. A guy that is 5'11 and weighs 205 with 5% BF, isn't as healthy as the guy who is 5'11 180 pounds with 15% BF.

Then it must have been a pretty ****ed up scale
like I said gotta pay the big bucks
Personally, if you stick with football throughout HS you'll be fine, but that dont mean go ordering BK or ****donalds 24/7. I take it your a linemen, and if your a starter then more power to you. Spend time in the weight room gaining muscle, keep up your endurance a bit, specially if your a guard (all that pulling and trapping can be a pain some times) and most importantly working on your form. Do you do any other sports? If not, maybe consider track. Our coaches here always enjoyed seeing us linemen throwing and taking a couple of jogs around the track with the runners.. just a suggestion.
Don't worry too much about ur fat. Remember to do a lot of speed work and even some HIIT. You'll lose some fat while gaining muscle if you can consistently keep a strict workout plan and good diet. It won't come in like a couple weeks, but through consistent effort, u'll eventually see good gains.

35% is really bad..most lineman have around 20-24%..D-1 lineman usually have around 15%-20%.. I hardly doubt you have 35% body fat..Your height may be a factor why your scale says 35% body fat. Get a hydrodensitometry body fat measurement its the most accurate way, it may be expensive but it is worth it.

That says i'm 6.5%...
I'm on the lean side, but 6.5 I think not
6'6"
190lbs
34 waist, 28 iliac, 32 abdomen
35%
pretty ****ty
just keep up with football, and maintain a proper eating routine
yeah 35% is really not all that great. for football and if ur a linemen 20% would be good id assume
35% is pretty bad, however if you got that number from an internet calculator those things aren't really that accurate. The way to reduce the BF% is to gain lean mass.
Mine isn't to much better but once I'm done with football for good I'm cutting like theres no tomorrow.
