Yeah, I get them from the standing calf raise machine. They almost look like stretch marks.

You got them on your calves? WHat machine and how many sets and reps? WERE you going heavy.
The answer to your question is this....
the weight stretches the fascia over the muscle...this breaks capillaries...and you get red marks!
They often look like a bruise, sometimes a real spotty appearance.
Tight muscles often have tight fascia.
The traps muscles are a good example!
I got the same thing doing calf raises on the machine with about 80kg on the stack!
