Just bought INTC puts after earnings leak that they beat and right before market close.
Now holding a bunch of puts overnight, that might've been retarded.
Hope the INTC CEO says the n word on the conference call lets go
edit: I remember this happening to me before too, but with TWTR.
fukin scumbags leaked results 15minutes before market close when i was holding a bunch of calls and the stock went -20% instantly and options went to 0 when I was planning to dump
confirmed not that retarded

Meanwhile NNDM should reach the Milky ways
AMD is looking good. 2/19 $100C here. You brahs gonna hold through earnings or sell before?
There's always that risk of it cratering after earnings. Maybe sell part of your position so you're breakeven and hold after.

AMD will get shaken out both sides after earnings. Just what Intel is doing now.
I am not going to hold through earnings. Gonna sell next week. See if this hype before earnings continues.
2/19 $100C already up 250 percent.

Volatility markets up
Stonks down
On a friday
Whats this mean

GHIv is now UWMC and rebounding nicely. closed my CSP's but have 100 shares with a covered call in my IRA. Will just leave for now.
PLTR looking thick, solid, tight. I opened 26 $27csp for 1/22 in my IRA as well.
Now this is where I am really really struggling to figure out what to do. TSLA. TSLA has earnings on 1/27. My 3 legged play expires 1/29. I need to finish Friday between $800 and $900 for maximum gains. I could close out the whole thing today at +$9k, but that would leave a potential $12k on the table. I feel like I should ride it until at least Wednesday, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a solid pump running up to then, which hurts one of my legs. Fuark... Fukk it, gonna let it ride...

Hope all you bros doin well
TSLA lookin like it ran out of steam finally

Long time no see! It seems so, and I hope it chills here for a long while. Needs to establish support if it's going to remain this high. That said, earnings could easily cause a 10% swing in either direction...

Added more EPD, juicy dividend is next week

If you brahs want easy exposure to SPACs that are mostly pre-merger you should look into SPCX etf. Obviously you get better growth with direct holdings of the SPACs that are popping off but the ETF has been making steady gains for the month I've been in it.
Also, a feelsbad moment. I put an order for a million shares of PLYZ at 0.0003 on friday last week. It had been fluctuating between 0.0003 and 0.0004 so i felt confident my order would fill. It didn't and I check the price today to see that it's trading 21x what it was on Friday. Other than that, it's been a great week with no red days so can't complain too much.
.
What kind of price targets are you guys using for CC's? Just picking something you're comfortable selling at or chasing higher premiums and then rolling out if you need to? I've got DKNG, SPCE, PLTR that could add up to some nice premium, but I don't want to end up backtracking and having to roll out to keep my shares lol
I sell mainly weeklies so my target is 10% OTM. Thats a good size gain to receive if my strike is hit, plus the premium I receive. With TSLA Ive increased it to 12% OTM if RSI is 60 or greater and DELTA is 30. If its a stock I am looking to unload then 5% OTM and not worry about delta.
The other factor is 1% premium per week. That equates to roughly 50% gain per year not including stock price appreciation.
I also write down my rules for each stock and stick with it. It helps to keep emotions out of the way since for me, that can be one of the biggest contributions to a losing trade.

I bought into GHIV yesterday and they had a ticker change this morning to UWMC. Typically with ticker changes do you see a large shift in price (whether up or down)? If so, is it instant or does it take some time, because I think buy orders aren’t going through today.
Sold just now because I dont want to risk it dropping to < $10. Will buy back in if I see it break higher prices

I was a full time day trader for a short time in a previous life. Stress was a killer. One rule that helped to calm me...There's always another train coming.
I never worry about leaving money on the table because there is always more to be made.

I'm not so much stressing about this one, more anxious/excited. I have a pretty solid window for maximum profit, but also a nice buffer for breakeven points. Theta decay is ramping up, and the only thing that will really get in the way is if IV ramps up right before earnings. I feel like I have to at the very least wait until Tuesday before deciding on anything. Here is a link to my play

Have 2 more contracts of 27C 01/22 that I filled at 1.08, opened today at 0.11, still holding this one.
What a ****ing save, I was down like 2k this week and made it all back this morning.
Edit:like I mentioned before, not sure why theta strategist like to do monthlies.
You can sell an 88 expiring next week for 200+ then provably do something similar again next week. More overall profit. Less chance of getting assigned.
There are a few reasons. The short answer is you have more potential in a single trade on a short expiration, but in the long run you do better more consistently with a little more time. The closer you get to expiration the more gamma risk you have and the more volatile the position becomes.
Oddly enough, Tasty Trade just did a segment on this yesterday if you're interested in seeing what their research showed.
More money to be made. I’ve done very crude number crunching in the past to see where the sweet spot is for selling options, looking at weeklies, 30-45 DTE, 60-90 DTE, and 12 months. 30-45 had the best returns when looking at similar moves (as in x% above strike and how many opportunities over the longest period of time)
This - at least according to the guys I choose to follow, the ideal setup is usually right around the 45 day mark at the 30 deltas, managing at 50% profit or 21 DTE.
This data shows 30 delta performed slightly better than snp500 index.
If your selling 30 delta covered calls you will get your shares signed away though. Eventually. So I think the data is assuming you jump to another stock.

My man.
30 delta CC is usually the best long term performer. But if you need to adjust based on a $ you may be more comfortable with you can.

nice, market sell off usually happens in the afternoon. i'd sell around 12:00-13:00 at its peak but who knows what'll happen
