I've seen the reactions of Hightower and Van Noy when the media told them that Sam Darnold said he was seeing ghosts out there. Both of them smiled, laughed and couldn't believe Darnold said that. When they asked Van Noy about it he was shocked. The report then tried to ask him another question, but Van Noy interrupted and asked while laughing "he really said that?"
Sounds like an opposing QB saying he was seeing ghosts is a great compliment to an opposing defense :D
Poor Darnold is never going to live that down.

x1000000000000 with u
I don't see Harry coming back either
also there is some talk that money was converted to bonus so easy on the cap and that is why they gave up the second; let see when we get contract details.
Burkhead is such a match up nightmare but always something going on with him; I hope we can have him healthy for the playoff.

Here is KVN's reaction to learning that Darnold was seeing ghosts out there lol

Absolutely great performance from the Pats D. They were just fukking great. Couldn't even score a FG on that defense. Unreal. I was down 25 in fantasy with the Pats D left. I was down by 1 with 3 minutes left in the game and the Jets muff a punt. Putting me up over the top to beat my opponent by a point.
Won't neg him though :).

But for real, kinda feel for Meyers. Dude looked like he was developing some good chemistry late in the game with Brady. Now he gets pushed back even further on the depth chart. Keal probably not being activated though. Still isn't gonna look super pretty if Brady has less than 2 seconds, but guess that's why we put our trust in Scar.

Another reason why I think we bring back Develin and Wynn.
When we signed Antonio Brown, we traded Thomas which Thomas recently revealed that Belichick said there were too many mouths to feed on offense for him. Sanu is the AB and Harry is the Thomas with our current roster.

Develin has more to add than Keal does certainly.
Does it ever cross your mind Wynn won't be back? OL is certainly weak, but there's always the possibility Wynn comes back for a game, aggregates his previous injury and they just look stupid for bringing him back in the first place. Not to mention, I hear all this talk about how he's the right choice, but I haven't heard anything about him being ready to play.

he is an upgrade even if he comes back just for the playoff - I will DEF save him an spot unless I know injury is bad and he will need to be out for the rest of the year.

Kneal counts as return player cause he practiced with the team... even if not activated

Did not know this, makes it puzzling having Sanu now.

I'd like to fact check that to see if that's actually true. From what Belichick said upon his return to practice, it didn't sound like there was any guarantee he would be activated thus not counting as one designated to return from IR.
-
It does look like Harry has been designated to return, so that puts my theory to rest. Looks like Harry and Wynn are coming back. Maybe Gordon's injury is worse than we think. I really don't know why we would bring in Sanu AND activate Harry as we released Thomas when we brought in AB. I should probably just be done with guessing what Belichick will do next.
Micheal Bennett's suspension has been listed. Doesn't look like he's going anywhere before the trade deadline.
We signed 3 time pro bowler special teamer Justin Bethel. He was released from the Ravens yesterday. Ravens HC said they released him because they wanted the compensatory pick, not because he was playing bad. From what I've read this was a great signing for our special teams.

"Looks like Harry and Wynn are coming back. Maybe Gordon's injury is worse than we think." - this was my take as well
-
Least points allowed in a season is 165 by the 2000 Ravens.
Patriots on pace to allow 109. Defensively? 62.

It's an NFL rule that honestly needs to be updated - but once a player is 2 weeks removed from being allowed to come of IR, they can begin practicing but doing so already uses up one of the two IR return designations... we got screwed on that with Shea McClellin in '17.
BB has been big on Sanu since the draft, if he can come in here and be a dynamic threat, particularly in the slot to free up Jules, it will spark the offense especially once Wynn comes back. If we can get similar value from him as Anquan Boldin brought to the Ravens we will be cooking.

I'm excited about Sanu. I think he'll be a good addition to the offense.
I hope bringing back Wynn helps the offensive line. If we can establish any sort of run game so defenses actually have to respect it, our entire offense will start rolling.
I've been looking for updates on Gordon and not finding anything. Has me a bit worried. We need to be ready and focused for the Browns. They aren't playing well, but have plenty enough talent to make it a tough game.

We are up against basically a rookie QB at home that leads the league in interceptions .... the defense will feast and after the fact we will hear "they still haven't played anyone yet."
Today's practice report will be telling on Gordon. A lot of the beat guys on twitter were saying he was spotted in the locker room after the practices last week moving fine, so hoping he's only out another week tops. Having him and Harry lining up opposite of each other in the redzone, with Jules/Sanu in the slot, Watson getting up to speed (already was valuable against the Jets in the passing and run-block game) and Berk/White coming out the back will give defenses nightmare match-ups.
Side note - hoping Meyers doesn't get pushed too far down the depth chart once the WR group is solidified, really like what i've seen from this kid.
-
My gut feeling is that Gordon could go if needed but that we realize the value he brings to the team and would like him to get to 100% before putting him back on the field. It's a long season and Bill is focused on being healthy and at full strength for the playoffs; he knows he can beat the Jets and Browns without him.
-
Patriots also signed Monteiro a LT to their practice squad.
Not huge news, but the kids from Brockton, so that's pretty cool.

I read that Gordon was in the locker room walking fine last week as well, but he didn't practice at all which is concerning. Not even a limited practice.
And yes, I really like what I've seen from Meyers the last two weeks. I think he's a smart player and is understanding the offense more and more each week. I also really like his catching ability. Kid has sticky hands. Unfortunately, I think he will fall in the depth charts because you have: 1) Edelman 2) Gordon 3) Sanu 4) Dorsett 5) Harry 6) Meyers.
Also, we are sitting at 54 players right now and have to release one more. I feel like Gunner is the guy to get cut, but I actually like him as a return man. Saves Edelman from having to take unnecessary hits.
EDIT: We released Tomlinson to make 53. All is good.

Definitely could be, but Gordon strikes me as the kind of player that hates missing time. Him not practicing all week speaks loudly on his injury IMO. I do think we are worried about WR depth though which is why we activated Harry and brought in Sanu. When we had DT earlier in the season and signed AB we traded DT pretty quickly. Now, after a few injuries to WRs we see how badly that hurts us and I think that's why we have so many WRs.
Sounds like there is a possibility that Sanu doesn't suit up this week. I read that the Sanu trade was completed before Wednesday, but wasn't official before then which would make him ineligible to play this week. It's a short week for him, so I see him having a limited role, but still would like him in there ASAP.

Yep we are good for now with roster spots but the interesting thing will be when/if Harry does indeed come back, we will be carrying 7 receivers at which point I agree with you I think Gunner is gone. Unless they want to carry 7 receivers and cut another TE between Izzo/LaCosse, maybe one moved to IR.

With WR injuries so far this season and with Watson here we keep one TE and send the one to IR or release him. Come playoff time, having depth issues at WR seems like it would be more of an issue than having depth issues at TE.

I was about to cut Sanu in fantasy (Cut Dorsett last week for Ebron). Then the news broke he got traded so I cut the waiver claims and kept him on.
Curious, do you think Sanu will be fed this week in an establishment game or put up nothing?

I wouldn't trust Sanu this week if he actually plays.
Also, Gordon AND Bennett back at practice today!!!!!! Woot! Today is / was limited contact, but him being out there is a great sign for this Sunday! Also, I saw a picture of him with Sanu warming up, gave me goosebumps lol

yeah but Bennett keep talking... he ain't making it until the end of the week.

Patriots injury report
DNP
WR Josh Gordon, Knee/Ankle
TE Ryan Izzo, Concussion
TE Matt LaCosse, Knee
G Shaq Mason, Ankle
LIMITED
RB Rex Burkhead, Foot
S Patrick Chung, Heel/Chest
WR Phillip Dorsett, Hamstring
WR Julian Edelman, Chest
WR Gunner Olszewski, Ankle/Hamstring
Dammit, hope Mason's injury won't keep him out of Sunday's game, the OL is already banged up enough as it is.

I read his interview transcript and he definitely doesn't sound happy. I'm not sure what we're doing with him. Pay him a good amount of money and barely play him. People speculate we trade him, but I honestly have no idea.

Welp, Yates reports that the patriots have placed Gordon on IR. Solves the roster issues I guess....

Damn, that sucks. Finally physically and mentally healthy and now he's done. I hope this doesn't set him back in his rehab / staying clean.
