I note they're not reporting on the coffee she probably had that morning. Whose main ingredient, caffeine, also increases the heart rate, just like the demonized DMAA in Jack3d.
Yes, GOVERNMENT PLEASE SAVE US FROM ANY INGREDIENT THAT INCREASES HEART RATE! WE'RE FAR TOO INCOMPETENT TO MAKE DECISIONS FOR OURSELVES ANYMORE!

Agree totally...I used to take jack3d when I first started lifting, didn't like it so I sent it back. Moral of that story should be cardio kills...I'm sure if she took the jack3d and watched a movie she'd still be alive today...

What kind of stupid bish would take jack3d before running a marathon? Sounds like a candidate for the Darwin awards. BRB getting my heart rate over 250.

Haven't heard anything else from Rogue about my order like getting a tracking number or showing my order status as shipped. So, called again to get an update and see if they figured out which bar I'm getting. What I got out of the call was that it looks like Rogue is growing and changing up some stuff to streamline their operations, distribution center, and I happen to place an order in the middle of the night while they were doing some upgrades and some kind of "glitch" occurred. Their warehouse system shows that they did get my order shipped out yesterday and their system still shows the more expensive westside power bar. They had to manually update my order status and read off the tracking number for me and estimated delivery is this Friday. Can't wait to pull with it.

Lol wut? Who would take that before a marathon? Definitely deserves a Darwin Award.

Who benches better with a slow controlled rep over a fast, explosive one?

2 steps = "running?" not sure if srs. No different than the rules to dunk a basketball :p
You've got a good point though. If there is any kind of carryover to something like squats I suppose it would make more sense to do it from a dead standstill like you would a squat?

So that's one of the reasons why jack3d formula changed? It sucks that someone died... but wow, what a dumb bish :D
I bought 2 tubs of jack3d (old formula), about 2 weeks ago.
What pre-workout do you guys use? Will be looking for a new product when my tubs run out.

Generic caffeine pills, coffee, and something with sugar in it if I feel worn out.

My two favorite ways are to do it from a standstill or do it from a seated position on a box.

Out of all the preworkouts I've logged, I think HyperFX from BSN is probably my favorite for the winter. It sucks during the summer because it has a thermo in it, and you will sweat your balls off.

Paul Carter (lift-run-bang) interviews Capt. Kirk
http://www.lift-run-bang.com/2013/01/podcast-with-capt-kirk.html
just started it.. not bad. Pretty cool.. love how the old school guys spent weeks and weeks hitting 8 rep PRs, 5 rep PRs etc... not just heavy ass grinding all the way to the meet. IIRC Coan was the same way too right?

Don't people that are really into marathons usually have coronary problems anyway? Stupid article is stupid.

Maybe why 5/3/1 works so well for me. I'm the reincarnation of an old school lifter.

Automatic gratuity for a $35 bill? I'd be pissed too but, i wouldn't be a dick about it. Just wouldn't go back to that restaurant.

Apparently it was only his portion of the bill.
The Reddit user who submitted the image explained in the comments section that the receipt was part of a total bill of over $200 for a party of 20, which is why the gratuity was automatically added.
“Parties up to eight ... may tip whatever they’d like, but larger parties receive an automatic gratuity," the server wrote. "It’s in the computer, it’s not something I do.”
Bench advice? it's about 1 minute in

Dan, I do a slow rep on bench or I am not tight in the bottom and mess up the press off my chest. I squats I am prolly slower on the descent
Dan, I do a slow rep on bench or I am not tight in the bottom and mess up the press off my chest.
this. I can't seem to keep my lats and back tight letting the weight drop fast like some seem to do. I have to actively do/think it and it results in slower descent. not sure its a good or bad thing though.

Since I'm on a tight budget 365 I use caffeine pills, BA, and Crystal light all mixed together. Caffeine pills ground up in coffee grinder.
