My dentist is giving me a mouthguard to wear while lifting so I don't grind my teeth down more than I already do. Does anybody wear one in the gym or seen anyone else wearing one? I'm gonna feel weird as phuck cuzzzz.

Since when do people care what other people think about them?
You don't know these guys right? They are total strangers who happen to go to your gym so who gives a **** what they say or think of you.

If I sent you a pink leotard to lift in, would you use it?
That being said, I don't care. But I'm wondering if other bodybuilders do this for their dental health.

I think it would look pretty badass.
I've grinded my teeth pretty badly before when lifting, but nothing too serious.
never seen anyone with it at my gym but seen it on youtube and stuff. Just put it in for your max sets brah you'll be fine.
I've seen a few people at my gym use a mouthguard, I'd do anything to keep me lookin good and not screw sh*t up... so go with it bro, if anyways gives u sh*t who cares, it's to your benefit.
Not a bad idea to be honest. Ive seen ppl with them and it looks hardcore, you know those mother fukkers lift hard and heavy to the point that they need a mouthguard to not break their own fukking teeth. My next door neighbor cracked his back bottom teeth and both sides gritting his teeth so hard from weightlifting when he was younger. He said he wished they had thought to invent mouth guards for weight lifting at that time. No worries about it bro.
And yeah I know I would rock the pink leotard :)
Well my dentist got me a pretty sick half green half white one(School colors) that I can also use in hockey, so it's gonna be pretty badass when I use it then.
no one gonna give u tat wtf look when ur huge, n u know wat ur doing. U know wat i mean? lol
dont feel weird OP, i've seen a few people with one in during lifting sessions I dont think anyone will give a damn if you wear a mouth piece or not lol.
I never understood why this guy had a mouth guard on while lifting.

Now I know. His bodyspace name is Animal76 if you wanna ask him anything I guess.
I am slightly biased because I work for the company, but there is now a new product in a lot of Dick's and Modell's made by Under Armour that is similar to a mouthguard but only for your bottom teeth made specifically for non-contact sports. The product got a great write-up today from 2-time world champion bodybuilder Dave Goodin. Take his word for it, not mine.

i would if i had a problem grinding my teeth. and it kinda looks bad ass anyway so i might do it if i ever come across a cheap one. does it effect your breathing at all?
i wouldnt worry about it OP.
gym time needs to be about you, not about the people around you

you can get them for like 2 bucks at sporting goods stores. just basic ones that you mold. I wear them in football and like them better than the expensive ones with plastic and hard materials in them

The nice part about the Under Armour performance mouthpiece is it only sits on your bottom teeth and actually improves your oxygen intake and CO2 outflow by releasing your TMJ. For more info go to http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/accessories/
My friend wears one, his dentist said teh same thing. He also has to wear it during sleep lol?
i wear one for squatting so that the bar doesnt knock my teeth out

Hey man,
I actually found this thread from google. I'm looking into getting one and researching if it really matters what type to get. I want to get one, but not the bulky kind I used to have when playing football. Trying to get a really small one. I guess simply getting a cheap one and cutting it down would do the trick just fine. I currently grind them quite a bit, hopefully it helps.
