Got this DVD from Netflix and watched it on the couch under blanky with my kid and this cold snowy day.
I went into this movie not knowing anything about it, and I would recomend if you haven't scene it to do the same thing. Not the typical Disney/Pixar lulz but really enjoyable for an adult as it's about an adult. My eyes wanted to leak and was LOL'ing throughout the movie.
Can't recommend this one highly enough.
Just finished watching the Expendables!
Shoot 'em up, blow their heads off, beat the crap out of everyone but not sure why with lots of muskles!
I liked it!! :D
Dee, if you're in my neck of the woods, we MUST party- if you have such great appreciation for true cinematic art, snookums and I would LUV to hang with you!!

I have never seen the desire for children and the inability to have so well explained, and that without words. Very definitely worth adding to your permanent collection. You'll probably need to watch The Expendables right after just to get you in the mood for training again.

Lol! :D I think I laughed my way through that movie!
That would be great if my kids hadn't lost the remote
This is where you tell them that until they find the remote, every time you want the channel changed, or the volume adjusted up or down, or you want to pause a movie etc, it will be their job to do so...:D

I read the plot on Wikipedia and it sounds horrible.
There Will Be Blood
Interesting film.
It is quite slow but very interesting from a historical perspective relating to oil prospectors in the U.S.
Interesting, gritty, lots of madness, money doesn't buy you happiness.
A good film all in all :)

Pretty much stopped reading at this point
Got Shrek 3 today not sure if we'll get to it tonight or not.
If you have little kids you've probably seen this, I had not. Movie was cute and funny, I LOL'ed a couple times, just as I did for the first 2. But nothing new, if you've seen one you've seen them all. I do love that cat in the boots and I like seeing that Eddie Murphy is still making a few bucks.

Well that is the last time I'll bother writing a freaking review then !

That movie was horrid. Our daughter wanted to watch it; she sat through the entire train wreck of a movie just so she could see the, "I drink your milkshake" scene. :)

What made you think it was horrid? Was it because Daniel was a horrible specimen of a human being?
I just have a hard time sitting through movies which I have no interest in. For a "western" style movie that involved commodities (horses), I'd highly recommend "Australia".
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455824/
This I was engrossed with.
Australia is on my movie list and will be sent sometime soon I hope.
:)
the cloverfeild is good too
Australia was good, but I half-way expected it at any moment to become a musical. Push those cheeky bulls!
I was thinking this would be 1/2 decent sci-fi and it starts off with this very attractive nude woman walking around in the woods.
If a movie starts like that you know it's gonna be going quickly down hill and this was no exception. In a nutshell, aliens invade the earth and will destroy it unless the human race proves they are worth saving. Decent concept, but the unshaven 1/2 baked actors sent to deal with the aliens are about as credible as Jessica Simpson getting married in white.
Cool alien weapons? 1/2 Check
Boobies? Check
Gore: Meh
1 and a half on the Bando score, would pass on this one.
Has anyone seen the fighter? :D
Synopsis?
I love the last man on earth stuff.
Zombieland, not at all what you think when hear the title. Reviews don't do it justice. Its got Woody Harelson staring with a cameo by Bill Murray, what more could a person want?
Just saw Season of the witch (excellent copy by the way, original sh!t) and didn't like it too much. The thing is I was going to go to the movies to see it when it came out, glad I got to see it before hand.
Bando,
With "The Day the Earth Stood Still" stick to the original. Yeah, the remake had great special effects and that was all. Remakes often don't stand up. JMO...

there was an original
This is a must see flick that alot of people have never even heard of. It has 4 directors, each one directing their own room. Its the story of a bellhop (Tim Roth) on his first night at his new job, and he is all alone except for a few rooms of guest. The story is told in chapters with each room taking about 20 minutes of story telling time. The first room is the most mundane and involves a coven of witches, headed by Madonna. The second room is a lovers quarel with Jennifer Beals and her psycho lover. The third is the best in my opinion and involves two misbehaving kids and their gangster father (Antonio Banderas). That room is directed by Robert Rodriguez. Quentin Tarantino direct and stars in the fourth room and climax of the movie, with Jennifer Beals and Bruce Willis among the guest there. The film follows the bellhops dealings with each room, and its very well done.
Edit: haha i said Jessica Beal..... meant Jennifer Beals.
Bando,
The Day the Earth Stood Still, 1951, with Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal.
"Gort, Klaatu nikto barada" which means don't mess with GuyJin on a movie thread.:D
They're also going to remake "When World's Collide." The original was in 1951 with Richard Derr and Barbara Rush. Laughable science by today's standards, but the movie was well acted and well directed, and was quite good for what it was.
Intriguing. Comedy? or Art film? Good to watch with wife?
My wife loves it. Id say comedy-ish..... Tarentino style. 3rd room is the funniest. I saw one list somewhere that called it one of the top 10 dark comedies of all time.
Heres 5 minutes of 3rd room. Actually funnier if you watch movie than this clip is by itself.... sorry dunno how to embed.
