You will want to go with light brown pasta for losing fat. Gaining weight though requires an almost black pasta. So its up to you
brown pasta = whole wheat pasta.. and sure its great for you.. a great complex carb.. its calorie loaded so make sure u watch ur intake
2 oz yields about 210 calories.. these are good foods for bulking.. IMO just portion off how much pasta you would lke to eat and have it witha healthy topping .. i mix my pasta with chicken and veggies and then top it with olive oil a great meal that hits all the macros!
try it out sometime
its healthy and clean and tastes great
I love it, and it's good for you, but you need to limit the portions. I find it VERY easy to eat endless amounts of pasta...
im the same way. i love eating whole wheat spagetti with my homemade meaty pasta sauce but you really have to watch your portions because the carbs are through the roof with this stuff.
Heeelllz Yea!
speaking about pasta i just had my breakfast -
100 - Whole wheat pasta
1oz Walnuts
1oz raisins
1cup milk
Cals - 741, fat - 28, carb - 104, protein 24

i don't know what's worse about that meal... the way it looks(and probably tastes) or the lack of quality protein.
hahah
why it tastes very good :))
as for the protein i have 2 egg whites also to make it for 30 grams :)
why do u think is worse - and how to fix it ??

ahhh, well the egg whites make up for it a little. you just can't really count the protein in grains towards your protein count for the day because the quality of it is poor.
wooow,
damn it - I was always counting it, including the protein from oats...
this mean I should at least 3-4 egg whites, otherwise (if the protein in the pasta is not counted) this meal as absolutely "proteinless" except for the tiny amount in the walnuts and milk
Not a big fan of wheat pasta myself, seems to not cook/boil right compared to semolina, maybe just my luck and not so hot with marinara sauce in my opinion. Now japanese buckweat noodles flash boiled with a touch of sesame seed oil... well, that does sound pretty good.

i never knew someone would eat pasta in milk.. that just looks so damn odd to me for some reason..
im sure it tastes ok.. but milk/egg whites for ur sauce over pasta.. that just hits me mind really weird
it might just be my thoughts on it though.. no offense,, but it looks weird.. im not going to question the taste
Like everyone else is saying, it's a great carb source but watch the portions, pasta adds up quickly... The good thing with the whole wheat variety though, is that one time overeating is usually all it takes to learn a good, harsh lesson... I think the stuff has 6-8 grams of fiber per serving, so after that one time of binging on it and eating half the box, you probably won't ever want to do it again.
yeah,
its a little bit weird, but hey i like the taste :) besides it's still macaroni right
as for the quantity im really careful with it and im measuring exactly 100grams = around 3.5oz.
considering the macros - the whole wheat pasta has almost the same macros as the oats:
100gr
- Oats - 370cals, 6fat, 63carb, 14prot
- WW Pasta - 335cals, 2fat, 68carb, 12 prot
so basically im eating a cup of oats with milk :)))
Thank for answering!
>I always eat my pasta with garlic and dry tomato sauce wich taste very good and i add some tuna or chicken to make it taste alot better!
