Squat 140.5 x 50, I'm fat and was drinking a few the night before. Watch the press behind the neck at the end, whoo, that was BADAZZ, after squatting for 50.

[QUOTE=induced_drag;1665620103]Great work PHD. You are almost holding down the fort on your own! Love to see it. Would come and cheer you on all day long at next comp.
All is same here. Just the grind. Friday is always Pizza night in our house so had to earn it tonight in the gym with my 'bro' workout. Shoulders and arms. I dont count reps or sets. I just pick a bunch of stuff up and put it down at random intervals.
There really are sometimes I wonder what in the hell I am still doing.... but then I have a night in the gym like tonight and I dont think I am all that bad. Actually pretty happy with where I am.

Thank you ID! Always appreciate the feedback - keeps me going and I hope encourages some folks out there. I'll be at St Louis in November for IPL tested NA championships - always welcome!! :)
You continue to do well and inspire for sure!!
First clip is my 'light bench' day - did 4x12 at 220lbs. I left my setup in if anyone has feedback.
Also LWW, did some DO deads last Thursday and thought of you! Enjoy! :)

Good.
Here is 275 x 21, I tried to use tap and go without re-gripping for the first 11 reps, I did another DOH, then switched to mixed-grip. This was a good change, holding the weight at lockout.
I lifted my shirt for a second at the end to show that the gut is fading away.

Worked up to a 315x2 top set today and this was my last bench set before incline dumbbell press and cable flies. Time to get back on the gain train. I need a 365 lb PR and I'm gonna try to make that happen within 8 months. Wish and old-timer luck!
I was way up on the scale @ 206 lbs after being on vacation all last week in NC and not having a care in the world.

Indeed - good work! I of course typically just do DO during warmups - my top sets that day were at 430, which if I could DO or hook I would but alas I cannot. :) And yes you are making progress with the gut /thumbsup

Jbizzle those are some very nice bench numbers! How old are you? 365 would be the the WR in my tested IPL fed if comp legal (at 50-54yo). Keep it up!!
Yesterday's squat day went pretty well.
3x6 @ 415, then did a few rack squats @ 550. Moved easier than I expected. I'm not ready for a full squat at that weigh but not too far off either.

Some work with the 100#plate, side bends. The arms are not very fat, what is annoying is some flab in the area between the lats and pecs.
I've added a bunch of straight arm pullovers and straight arm flys to my routine.

Good work LWW! It's also good grip work ;)
Bench day. Opened with 3x10 @ 225 on floor presses. Felt really good.
Tried 4x4 @ 285, struggled. Only recorded my 4th set which I only got 3 reps.
Did some slingshot work which was fun - got singles at 330, 365, 365, failed 375.

Deads day.
Did some 2" deficit work, then went heavy. I think 485 is the heaviest I've done conventional. My form feels pretty good, and I did get the first 5 reps of a planned 4x2, but 6th rep just got heavy. :) Finished final 3 reps sumo. Which demonstrated again why with my very short arms/legs and longer torso sumo is definitely biomechanically better for me.

Pepper, bingo on the body structure and deads.
I’ve looked at the dudes in my state pulling big weights conventional and they all have long arms. At lockout the hands are mid-thigh, our hands are at pelvis at best.
The exceptions are 300# lifters.

Here is a small portion of atlas stone work I did on Saturday. This one is 135# stone. I did a few sets with 155#.
Can't wait to do this stuff more and more, the main goal is working ALL muscles here. I will continue to lift the heavier stones but the goal is not in strongman world to lift the biggest stone period. This is more of a body building style with emphasis on functional strength/core strength. Looks are important but NOT more important than doing the work, the exciting work.
A good goal to look forward to work up to a 3 minute round of this type of stuff with the 135# and go from there, with some heavier work in between.

@LWW and PHD are the only one's posting up.
Great to see you guys still hitting it!
Nothing different here. Tonight I did my first ever 20 hour fasted training session (weight training.). Just playing around with different things trying to get rid of last bits of fat.
I am looking bigger, but I KNOW I am a lot smaller. Have not stepped on scale because I dont want to know. Just quick swelfie from tonight.

Feeling the love... and appreciate the contribution. You are keeping it rolling ID!
I have felt the urge to cut a little extra but because of my November comp I think I'll stay at neutral or slight bulk until then... after that maybe I'll try to cut some fat and continue a slower bulk :)
Yesterday hit a good hard leg day - feeling it at the end. Did rack squats at 550, dropped one pin deeper than last week. Then normal working sets at 3x4 @ 405, then burnout at 265 (3x8), then about 4 other leg accessories.... phew!

I've been through this before: Feeling like 'more is better' - so I get sucked into a relatively heavy extra bench day. I've noticed the past couple weeks struggling a little more on my normal bench day after doing a higher reps (such as 4x10 @ 225) second bench day. So this week I did VERY light bench on Sunday... which seems to be what my body needs. Then yesterday I did 3x3 @ 295 and then 3x4 tempos @ 245 and felt smooth, locked in, and strong/energetic.
I guess I have to accept that my old azz needs that recovery time!

Sorry missed your comment for some reason.
I FEEL good doing conventional, but upwards of 460lb, it just is a lot harder from off the floor through the whole pull. Bigger guys at 220lb or bigger tend to trend conventional, but like we've already said, my very short arms/legs make sumo simply better.
I appreciate that this forum at least isn't filled with sumo haters etc. :)

Watch Vince Anello dead lift conventional, he isn’t tall but look at he length of his arms at lockout.

Yeah I've seen his vids before. Crazy!
Yesterday did a better job of paying attention to my RPE targets and deads went well.
Did several sets of deficits and then did 3x2 conventional - only backed off 10 lbs (475), but form was better and I think the training benefit was definitely better.
My deficit pulls felt really good (below)

Well shoot! I don't post in this thread for a few days and it drops off the 1st page!
For shame guys/gals! :(
I'm doing a deload week as I'll be out the rest of the week and starting a new block next Monday.
I did record a set of my light bench work yesterday so here we go. Tried a different angle since I wasn't really concerned with my form yesterday.
I will say I'm looking rather square (perhaps I should say thicc lol). :)

Nice bump PHD.
No one wants to see more pics of me, so here is my 'gym ' pic.
I have had this bar for over 25 years. Was wondering how many plated I have slid on and off it over the years....

Pressed 135 stone, hit presses after this one (not filmed), then shouldered 155 for reps and shouldered 175.
1 hour of stone work today, I will be looking juiced keeping this up!

Seeing stuff like comparing your oldest YouTubes with your current ones and your admirable progress is what keeps me coming to this site - not endless grumbling about politics

I just like to disrupt the political threads.
So today I dead lifted 260 x 27, 21 of the reps were DOH. I didn’t feel like filming it.
My biceps are so sore now from gripping the bar. Shouldering stones hits the biceps hardcore.
I was happy I got over 25 but not so happy I stopped so close to 30, next time. I still got toasted.

Started a new program yesterday: the two things I'm really liking about it - 1) it helps me autoregulate intensity, which as mentioned recently I struggle with too much intensity and not enough recovery, and 2) I really like that most days I start with a relatively heavy single, and working/backdown sets are targeted for very specific and consistent intensity/RPE.
Yesterday my squat single was 460 which is a very easy single, but was right at the 7 RPE that the program calls for.
