An actual use for wrist weights?
I bought a pair of 1.25lb plates back in November, and they're fabulous. However, I think I may need even lighter ones for things like OHP and bench, where even an extra 2.5lbs can be too much if I try to increase every workout.
I was looking into the standard set of microplates (two - ¼, ½, ¾, and 1 lb. plates in each set), however they're quite expensive for what you get...upward of $50 with shipping.
What I'm wondering is if anyone has tried using something like wrist weights instead? I was thinking something like these:

The weights are super adjustable, and I can just add them to the end of the bar (not to my arms). They may not be as professional looking, but I figure they can do the job, and that's what counts, especially being less than half the price of the plate set.
Thoughts?
