New dumbbells, new PRs
I am extremely happy with a purchase of new dumbbell bars from New York Barbell of Elmira NY. They have threaded ends that are longer to hold about twice as many plates as my old dumbbell bars. Not only have I already had them up to 160 pounds each, but I can also use smaller diameter plates. So while it has been fun to set new dumbbell bench PRs, it is also SAFER. My old dumbbells could only hold two or three plates on a side, so I had to use large diameter 25 pound plates which meant less clearance for getting the dumbbells hooked back into place at the end of the lift. Now I can use more smaller diameter plates for safety and confidence.
