So a few months back I matched with a girl on hinge we texted a bit over the course of a couple of months and then she either unmatched me or deleted hinge and ghosted me. She just liked me again on hinge and i'm wondering how to reopen her. We never met up in real life.
-
I invited a girl off hinge for lunch she said shes down for a "virtual lunch". wtf is that?
Am I supposed to eat my chicken and broccoli as I talk with her on skype? Sounds cringe
LOL!
I've been getting those virtual meetings, too, by the ones who are paranoid of getting Covid. Bumble and Hinge push those though, probably as a PR tool.

Sometimes its not the right timing or she was into someone else at the time.
I've matched with a few months later on different apps and we hit off, met up and ended up smashing later.
Even if we did match again, I'd only consider them for fwb.
I have gotten good responses with- " Hey there, I could have sworn we matched before and lost touch. We should get together soon."
May sound stupid but I have had it work 3 times recently.
Acknowledge and be direct.
What is a lens kit for a phone???
Yes lol I have a set for landscape pictures and for my artwork. I also have a DSLR, but a lens kit + a phone is waaaay more portable for some situations
-
My main profile pic is an iphone pic. The SLR ones are below.
So no, you don't need an SLR pic, but the quality difference is very obvious. IDK how to compare SLR vs. tripod + lens kit though, so maybe you're right.
It’s honestly not that bad. Obviously the SLR will always be superior, but lens kit for the phone is a good alternative for those that don’t want to dish out the money.

I also don’t know what these are. I googled it and all that came up was lens attachments for iPhones for taking landscape, fish eye and macro(?) pictures. Surely y’all not taking photos of yourself with an iPhone fish eye lens and having that as your tinder photo?

I personally use this one;

yeah, fish eye lens are common as hell, but they have others lol
Turns out professional photos cost a few hundred. Something I don’t have the luxury to afford right now. Finding it pretty difficult saying to friends “hey let’s do something today but also take pictures of me” without them calling me a **** lol.
Professional photos is something I am going to do eventually though as I believe it’ll be good for linkedin and my own company’s internal portfolio and resume. Everyone has photos of themselves on there so I think I should probably have some taken of myself aswell.
Have yet to take the plunge myself, but I assumed the strat was going with a semi-professional or an up-and-coming photographer. Figure if the photos are too obviously professional, that'd be a turnoff, plus, it'll be way cheaper.
The one guy from high school I know who did photography was posting about $50-60 tinder photoshoots a couple years ago (when he would have been a year or two out of college). He still posted good pics then, but he's moved on to bigger/pricier stuff now I think.

Had no idea this was a thing. Very interesting. Kinda want to get it just for taking pics on trips or whatever, forget tinder.

Once i had girl messaged me 1st, we had casual banter and then she just left me on read FOR MONTH.
Guess what, month passed and she messaged me like nothing happend at all. We had 2 dates, i invited her to my home on a third and then she ghosted me again.
Online dating as an average man is pathetic

LOL at worrying if a professional pic would be a turn off for a woman.
That's a loser mentality honestly.
Quit worrying about the wrong thing.

I'm talking about if all of your pics are extremely professional/sterile. If I thought a chick spent hundreds of dollars on her photos and none was really candid-looking, I wouldn't swipe on her either.

That looks pretty cool but I’m a light traveller, if I’m ever going somewhere that’s a cool place to take photos of things I enjoy such as gigs/sporting events etc I typically only have my phone keys and wallet with me. I only ever take a rucksack with me if I’m going for a hike or something and even then I’m reluctant to take a rucksack. That lens is really cool And I would like to use it for pictures of cool chit and not just tinder pics but just not practical for me realistically. I’d like to see how much they improve photos of picturesque locations etc compared to a standard iPhone photo though.

There’s been at least 4-5 people that have dropped by in this thread mentioning they are thinking of getting professional tinder pics but nobody has done it yet lol. I’m tight on money at the moment with car troubles but as soon as a get a little spare I will find an amateur photographer fresh out of uni. As said I think it’s good to have anyway for linkedin and such.

Yeah, that's basically all I meant - don't overdo it.

Brah it's got a lanyard. Bam, hook it to keys for trips. I am really curious how it'd do for tourist/hiking pics too though.

What type of phone do you have? A lot of lens creators have it where it’s like a pop socket on a case.
Example of a 6n1 kit for iPhone XS ;

Oh yeah that's true. I never have more than two max.
If all your pics are professional then they're just gonna think you're a fake profile or too good to be true if you're really good looking.
In my experience you gotta mix your profile with a combination of professional and regular but still good pics.
wow just got blocked by a girl for getting a little playful.
She said she likes avocados, and I made a joke about having them on our first date. Then:
Her: "Avocados sounds nice I would be down for more than just avocados tho hahahahaha"
I read an implication, said something like this: "How about off my body ;) ... or toast - your call, tough choice"
Her: "I don't know your body, depends."
BLOCKED
Not a great line, but thought I was just being playful, huh?
Sounds like you dated a basic white girl. No offense. Sorry about the break up. Get back on that horse.

She wasn't white, but was American - basic and vapid... sure.

I am tempted to put a few random basic selfies on a dating site and just see how I get on.

I have one selfie, and and action shot that you can't even tell it's me. 600+ matches in first day in Toronto area... Any of you guys live near there, Bumble is a goldmine in those parts.

What are some openers you guys use?

Why so no offense? It’s an offensive comment so just keep it that way tbh lol
@midi, from what I hear from Toronto men (I live on the border of MI and CA) that bumble women are so flakey. Is it true?
What are some openers you guys use?
Something direct and straight to the point to weed out any attention whores or women that are not down with my program.
By my own anecdotal experience, I tend to get a 60-80% response rate depending on the app and maybe even the time or location I'm in.
Granted it really doesn't matter what opener you use if your pictures are ****ty and/or you're not attractive.
