I am confused about why many diets that support bodybuilding do not include fruit. If fructose is the issue, why should it be if it doesn't cause a large rise in blood sugar level? This in turn would mean it wouldn't raise insulin levels. Before I started training seriously, I ate fruit all the time, everyday. I was leaner then ever also. I am talking apples, oranges, bananas, strawberries and blueberries.....like 5 servings a day. Can anyone help me understand this theory?
I seriously wish I could eat as much fruit that's in our house everyday, if this is the case. We have just about everything you listed, with the exception of blueberries (I might suggest those sometime in the future, because if they taste good in muffins, they should be just as good by themselves).
I do eat bananas as often as I can, with a nice bottle of water. Apples are a delicacy here as well, just as much as strawberries are (we normally eat those in cakes for the holidays). But I haven't eaten an orange for quite some time.
Although I think my most favorite fruit dish are fruit salads, like the one that's stocked up in our refrigerator right now. I think I'm going to go grab at it, before someone else does. All this talk about fruit has really got me craving for some. :)

I eat all the fruit I can get my hands on. Fruit > all other food in every way
nope but i probably should. hate veggies as well but i usually force myself to eat 2-3 servings a day just for health reasons. can't see spending cals on fruit when i could eat a nice juicy steak instead :D but if you like fruit by all means eat up. wish i liked the stuff but i figure as long as i get some veggiues in i'll be fine.
spending cals on fruit? an orange, an apple, and a cup of strawberries is like 200cals total. a nice steak is like 500

Every day, a blueberry smoothie with oats, flax meal, whey and milk (somtimes with pineapple or peaches added).
And either an apple or two with peanut butter and/or a banana or two with either almonds or walnuts. Some days I go on a fruit bender and have 2-3 apples with some pb and a few bananas with nuts. IMO, fruit is awesome but even better when combined with nuts (taste-wise).
Also, teh nutz reduce teh insulinz spikzzz so i dont get teh fatz.
