Pedialyte???
So I was talking to somebody in the gym today and they mentioned that they drink pedialyte (the sick-baby drink) to re-hydrate themselves. Has anyone heard of this or can have personal testament to using it? He also mentioned that it was better than gatorade or powerade...
just looking for people's thoughts on this....
thanks

I have never used it by I know others that do like football players and wrestlers.
Some college football teams make pedialyte popsicles and have their player eat them during practice
-
Ive had it twice, but that was in the morning after a massive hangover.
-
That's what I drank after my competition since I was in dire need of hydration and electrolytes. It is kept backstage by many promoters for this purpose.
-
i heard its great for hangovers...

Yea I saw numerous competitors at the Ronnie Coleman Classic carrying it around.

awesome, just found a new way to spend some money! do i drink the whole bottle or what?
-
my doctor gives me that stuff to waste out my intestines because i had digestive problems, they make it apple flavor but it's just there for like 3 sec then after you can taste the actual thing. i am NEVER drinking that again, i got runs in about an hr or two after that bottle. it sucked.
-
Its awesome for hangovers especially if you need to be functional within a few hours of waking up. Take with some ibuprofen and dramamine/meclizine to feel like a million bucks.
-
I drink it when I am sick(cold, flu). Don't know why but it works for me. And it is also good the next day for hangovers as well.
-
pedialyte is the best drink for rehydration. its made for sick babies to rehydrate them as quickly as possible. i took it with me every wrestling tournament i went to and chugged down a few bottles of it after weigh ins. basically it rehydrates you faster than any other sport supplement when it your dehydrated due to weight lost in a short period of time or after any intense physical activity

Some of the powerlifters I know recommend electrolyte gold: http://www.jeffersequine.com/ssc/product.asp?CID=1&mscssid=8BH03W6K27QC9HHAU7CX9CNEK4925MR2
Yeah, it's for horses, but they swear by it. :D

I actually use horse tranqs as my "ZMA". Work like a charm.. I wake up so rested.. 3 weeks later. I remember to do my PCT though.. Celltech FT-PCT-W!

Poseidon looks like a pretty solid electrolyte blend...

Pedialyte is THE best thing for rehydration. The carbohydrates and electrolytes combination is used to treat and prevent dehydration. It replaces water and some important salts like sodium and potassium. It works great for high intensity sports...I use it for hockey and the third periods feel like I just stepped on the ice!
-
I've drank like 8 gallons of pedialyte since I made this thread. I swear by it.

Actually the only thing that has worked for my hangovers as well as pedialyte is Poseidon. They both work very well for that purpose.
-
^^ just for hydration issues, or just cuz it's tasty?
I'm interested in the Electrolyte Gold.
it's $40 for 30pkts, but it says 1pkt for a horse.
avg. thoroughbred = 500kg
me = 110kg
1pkt = ~4 doses (incl waste)
$40 = 120 doses.

Professional athletes like MMA guys or Boxers have been using pedialyte to rehydrate after weigh-ins for a long time now. My father also used to use it as a peri-workout, he swore by it.

Yep, any grocery store will have it. But it's in the baby section..usually with like the baby food and cough syrup, lol.
-
Im a HS football coach. We give it to our kids during 2-a-days and during games. We've had ZERO cramps all year since we started using it.

I hate the looks that I get when I buy like 6 bottles of this stuff. Makes me look like a young father with a bunch of sick kids.
-
Does anyone have the supplement facts on this. I looked it up with no luck.

Haha, the cashiers are the worst for that! I almost want to bust it open and start downing it right in front of them, lol.

That seems like a good thing to me. In my personal experience, the thought a loving father caring for his kid(s) is a very big turn-on for many ladies. :)
I'm not huge on the taste of pedialyte, but my son loves the grape. Our family went through a few jugs a week or two ago when we were all sick. Very good for when you start getting dehydrated.
