Damn, very impressive being able to bust out 25 CGPU's, doing CGBP, and then doing 25 more CGPU's!

Thanks...I wish my shoulder wasn't messed up, I could probably do more.
Shoveling snow for almost an hour today did not help...
Tomorrow's WO...shoulders!
Wanna take a look and let me know if anything sticks out in your mind since I didnt have any real specifics for you when we talked?

Surgical therapies for back pain include discectomy, foraminotomy and fusion.
I had a discectomy, which is trimming back the disc (i think there was also a fragment).
Your disc hasn't "ripped" so microdiscectomy might not be an answer. The foraminotomy could be as it would give the nerve root more wiggle room.
Fusion seems unnecessary.
Can you describe your symptoms again? Which side? What sensation? How often? What aggravates it?

Sharp stabbing pain right in the left side of the spine, in the area of the L4-S1
It's always local to that area?
Nothing in the rest of the L4-S1 dermatomes?
Hip? Side thigh? Quad? Calf? Shin?
Did they rule out a facet joint?

Well we know that I had a facet joint that was sprained, and thats what PT was working on. All the exercises and stretches and ultra sounds. The pain from the facet joint is on the left side as well, slightly down and over. But thats totally different pain from what I feel in my spine.

I wonder how much the facet joint issues are throwing off your posture (relaxed and/or when lifting) and then causing unnecessary impingement of the disc on the spine or nerve roots. Have you tried extended rest and had any results? I wonder if 3-4 weeks of rest with another 3-4 weeks of gentle mobility work would help. If there's lots of inflammation in the area, too much therapy/training can keep exacerbating it.

I didnt lift from mid november til after new years. Didnt even have to go to work. I went on vacation, had surgery, get strep throat. All I did was lay around all day and went to PT twice a week during the month of December. After that 6 weeks of inactivity my back only got worse... :(

Well, that's mostly good news. Only bad that 6+ weeks of rest didn't help much, but if inactivity is worse, then lifting will be part of your medicine. Your injury is definitely different than mine so I can't say with any certainty what you need or what will work. I will say that if a new surgery (other than fusion) is indicated, then I wouldn't be afraid of it.
In the meantime, if you keep your ego out of the gym and progress safely, you should be able to work through it without adding further injury. You'll have to respect the change in your tolerance, but you can still make progress, maybe just a bit more slowly.

-Went in feeling blah and got energized as soon as I touched the trap bar! Magic in the metal!
-Work capacity improved again.
-The 245x5 dead lifts were so easy, I added 20# and did 265x5. Still felt light.
