Does Rogue Fitness ever have sales much like Elite FTS. ?
Black Friday
Black Friday
+1, you can get $5 shipping on many things from rogue. Also Hundo pricing on the HG 2.0 bumpers.
Random item sales like free shipping with a barbell purchase.

No, they don't need to resort to the Kohl's school of pricing.
They have Black Friday and that's basically it - hot deals during BF, 5 for $5 shipping, etc.

And if I recall from last year, the 'hot deals' really weren't that hot.
Black Friday for free shipping. Not much else. I think they were selling their previous line of Monster racks for attractive pricing recently.
The reality is that with Crossfit Rogue has a big name and following. They offer a price/quality point that a lot of people find attractive. They also have excellent customer service, best logistics in the business, and great rates on freight/fast delivery. They don't really need to play the discount game on pricing.

Yep, they had a pretty solid deal on the older Fortis racks (which had weight storage as an option)
I was told, pretty much anything worth owning doesn't go on sale. Maybe a bit of a generalization, but still in the ballpark.
Maybe they'll have a moving sale once the new building/campus is complete? Might save them the cost of moving inventory between buildings, but that's still a ways away. And I'd say you are a bit late for their annual "garage" sale. May see another one after the crossfit games in July?

i think you're right in that Rogue's price point falls within peoples' comfort zones; they do have a few options that are a good value, but a lot of their stuff gets to be pretty pricey. i think they hide it with the 5 different versions of everything they have and all the add ons and such.
not knocking them; their customer service and response time is great; probably better than most of the equipment retailers out there.

I got one of their bars. But I'm forced to look elsewhere for other stuff due to price and cost of shipping to me. I'd really like to get everything from them, and maybe one day I will. The nice thing (and unfortunately for Rogue) is that everyone is copying their designs: Titan, Northern Lights, XTC, ...

Find someone on the NY or Michigan side of the border that equipment can be shipped to, rent a U-haul, pick up. I know nothing of the tax/logistical implications so this may not be feasible

They know that. I'll get taxed at the border. There is a TV show, 3 or 4 seasons "Border Security"... yeah, they inspect almost everyone crossing the border. For Canadians, the roguecanada.ca website does it all, all duties and taxes and customs fees included, and that's how I ordered my bar.
But for half the price, I found a local fitness depot I can walk to with a clone of the rack (or I can assemble it myself from parts.)

Just know that it's not "their" design. The westside racks were around before rogue, and Louie was used for the R3. And sorinex were making rigs before.

Probably. That's what makes it so sad. Mindless drones.

But isn't westside just a form of Crossfit for speed? Didn't Louie use steal the future method & call it "accommodating resistance?"
Does Rogue have any original ideas? That'a s serious question, mind you.
If you don't like Rogue, you're a racist and the open minded pacifists will beat, hang and set your body on fire.
BTW - that gif is maybe the best thing I've seen in forever. Classic.
Does Rogue have any original ideas? That'a s serious question, mind you.
Now that I think of it, I don't think they do have much, if any, original ideas.
Remember, it's not about who's first, it's about who sold more, or who did better, or who's last. Quality isn't original. Good CS isn't original. Crossfit isn't even original, someone just trademarked that particular name.
But as far as equipment and how they conduct business goes... I don't see anything original. Sure, maybe some grips and some giant steel balls, and stuff like that, but they are all just variations of everything that has been done before.
The mono stand, that might be original. But I think it sucks.
But I like Rogue. I like their bars. I like their plates. I like their racks and rigs.

Haters gonna hate.
I just want to see something awesome that I can't live without. :D
Just to really, really piss everyone off... I might end up replacing my Ivanko with a Rogue bar. Oh the humanity!

PM me all you want but you're not getting those pictures of me.
I think Rogue is original. Their marketing is original in the space, their manufacturing processes are original and so on. It's kind of like saying Apple didn't invent anything when they introduced the iPhone, all the technologies existed, they just packaged them well and had amazing design/marketing, which they still do to this day. Look at where it got Apple... and look where Rogue is today.
While on the topic of Apple, although Apple sells through stores, they do a lot of direct sales, which nets them a much healthier margin than the competition, which has to give a cut to the "middle-men." In the same way, most quality equipment manufacturers are really geared towards commercial sales, whereas Rogue does both and has an amazing website for shopping - barbell selection notwithstanding :).
Did they invent anything? Perhaps not... yet they have an awesome model, direct to consumer pricing, etc. It's a win-win IMO.
P.S. I'm not an Apple fanboy and don't own Apple products... before the thread goes in that direction...
Here's Rogue's new facility they're building.. They seem to be doing ok, i guess.

My lord this thread went down a crazy path. I don't own a ton of rogue equipment, but if I were forced to buy all my equipment from one website... It would be rogue.com
I bought my OPB last year, on Black Friday I think, at a discount. They had a limited number at that price. I don't recall how much I saved, 30-40 $.

Actually, that would not be a bad idea at all. You can get everything from them.
Bars. Plates. Collars. Racks. Benches. Rings. Rubber Tiles. Yokes. Sleds. Stone Molds. Jump Ropes. Climbing Ropes. Rowers. Chains. Hammers. Platforms.
