At about 225x3 right now. 5/3/1 is beautiful for consistently upping your bench. If my diet and training is perfect, is it realistic for me to bench 405 before I graduate in May 2017?

To bench 405, it takes time, consistency, good enough genetics/leverages, and good programming. Not everyone who trains hard to get a big bench will bench 405. Bodyweight is another major factor, with more bodyweight comes more weight on the bench, but if you maintain/lose BW, increasing your bench is even more difficult.
Currently at a 162.5kg/358lb bench as a 181lb powerlifter (almost 2xBW), in on the race to 405lbs. Hopefully some time next year at 181 :)

Pause benched 85kg (187lbs) for 14 reps today, doing some higher reps lately to really pack on some mass and build a massive base. First I need to hit 3 plates (I'm close) but I'm certain I WILL bench 4 plates one day.
-
I was undergoing an overhead press obsession, though... I might've forgotten to post a bench workout though. :/
-
My PR was 275x10. Trying O'Hearn's Power Bodybuilding routine (journal below) so I'll be training for strength for my first time in over 30 years of lifting. 405 would be great but I'm tall with long arms so gotta see if that's possible.

I still haven't gotten to 2 plate yet.
I hope to be up there with you guys soon enough though.

IM getting there. Hit 385x2
Tonight did four sets of 355x3
https://youtu.be/GaRzfueJVJQ
also hit a new PR of 235x2 on seated press behind the neck

In. Currently at 325x1, although I think I have 340 in me, no spotter :( Hoping to hit 405 in the coming years!

-
Bench:
135x5
185x5
205x5
215x3 - PR
225x1 - PR

I started lifting last month with 4 kilometer run everyday. As I have been reading your comments, it drives me crazy to push even harder. Hope I can come to a point that I will be able to know what you are referring to. TIA

Hey guys do you have any idea about muscle building exercises for women
-
I did a great bench routine that made my bench go up 15-20 lbs in 10-11 weeks.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to focus on their bench and increase their BP stats

Repping you for this thanks bro, Bench is a huge struggle for me lately. It seems I can Incline and DB Press A LOT more than I can Flat.. Bizarre.

So did anyone ever hit 405?
-
Anyone keen for a race to a 5 plate bench? (485lbs)
I hit a 4 plate bench already both in gym and in a meet already.

Nice thread we got in here. 405 is a solid goal. I'm try for it in 2018. My best this year was 365 before I started a long cut!
-
Lifting heavy is great granted that your execution stays on point at all times. Doing 1 plate a side or 4 plates a side, both should look exactly the same. You should control the weight at all times.
I used to lift very light weight to gain complete control over my muscles. With my new coach he is forcing me to go heavier. Maybe I will see you all using 4 plates on a bench press within this year.
-
How many time you bench a week guys?
I'm currently cutting on F5 U/L Intermediate and managing to keep most of my strength, lost 13lb, my bench dropped with only 5lb.
The last workout I did 205x3,4,3
After the cut aiming for massive bulk and a new program with x2 bench and x2 incline db press as accessory.
-
Weak ass bench, before the recent cut : 205lbsx5
Shooting for 315x1 by june 2019.
BW : 161lbs at 5'11 11-12%bf

Update didn't even get close- Maybe 2021
Hoping to hit 375 by january for a 10 lb PR this year.- 3 more years at 10lbs a year boom made it.
-
I'm at 275 max out, 260 3 rep at the moment. My goal was to get 400 by August, the start of football season, but I'm not sure if that's physically possible. We'll see how it goes!
