Anyone been to Zakynthos?

Going to Greece for a week. Will spend few days on the legendary Zakynthos.

Advices, tips are welcome (night life, food, etc)

Don't forget the condoms. Zakynthos is possibly the most promiscuous place in Europe, any sloot you bang then has been through 10+ guys the week before so you don't wanna end up with AIDS or on babynames.com

carry euros, tanning oil. have fun. Not sure how the crisis affects tourism, but in every case having fresh euros is a plus. If you intend to swim - swimming goggles is a must, water there is salty as fuk, 1 second in it and you'll be crying like a baby

I've been to Zakynthos.

Took a boat trip to that beach in the pic (Navagio Beach). Sadly it was a little choppy so the captain wouldn't let us jump in. But the water looks like it has blue dye in it.

We also took a day trip to Laganas.

That place is utterly revolting. Smells of chit and loads of pale brit chavs riding scooters and quads everwhere. The women there are white, bloated land-whales and would suck off a rabid dog.

I'd say it's a nice place, but avoid Laganas.

I preferred Corfu myself.

Yeah, Laganas is party central.
If you want to party, get drunk, and be around a whole bunch of partying/drunk Brits, then that's your place.

Another happening place but not crazy like Laganas is Tsilivi.

I would also hang out a bit in Zakynthos town. (around the port area)
A few blocks back of the port there is a street called Roma. That street is for pedestrians only and is full of various stores, cafes, and restaurants as you approach the town square.
It's pretty cool at night.

There are also tons of nice beaches.
Laganas (busy), Kalamaki, Alikanas, Tsilivi, etc.

There are a few cool excursions you could do like the Navagio beach (pic), the Blue Caves, or at the south of the island go see the Caretta turtles.

I would say if you want to do some clubbing go to Ibiza ;) Zakynthos is like amazing beaches and attractions to see. When driving through laganas I thought that there had been some kind of war or sth. :D Dirt all over the place! Visit top restaurants preferred by tripadvisor.
