Grats on those PRs. Squat looked great, didn't dive bomb, hit depth and grinded it back up.

JTBNY (spotting) has been working with me on that. It's a big change for my squat as I used to bounce out of the hole, hopefully it keeps paying off in PR's.

Hahaha, that's great.
Sled work on lunch today. Went from 55#'s to 1315#'s in 90# increments till I couldn't get 6 reps at weight. last set if you could call it that, this was the failure. Then I went back down in 180# increments to failure each set

Someone needs to use them. Actually starting to squat this weekend, so hoping to learn the form and get going. I have had issues in the back with the bar riding right on spine that balls out at my neck, so I had stopped. Gonna try a little low bar. eek

Both. Edit ==> Great lifts.

TY. Hoped you would say the squat. The squat was only 2X BW but you can see the struggle is real. The bench is an outlier at my weight, but I love seeing/hitting a grinder way more than just a heavy lift.

I said both because I know what it is like to be (as many here have) at the bottom of the squat, knowing that if you give up just 1lb of effort, you will have to dump it, so you give it all you have as if someone told you that you couldn't do it and your sheer determination makes you push it up. It was determination and not struggle.
As for the bench, I am no record holder, but at a weight of 204, I benched 360, thinking two months before I could never bench 340. For me, I exceeded my own expectations. For you to bench what you benched at your weight is more impressive, but I can relate.

It wasn't my determination. That was a one way trip. I tried to get it up as a novelty to show effort. When JTBNY was telling me to drive I drove an inch out of respect but was done, when Flex yelled get it up I got another inch, when a chorus of O35 lifters thought I could get it, I just went for everything or failure. That's really the beauty of the O35 lifting community, bringing out and shaping your best.

was that not 7 reps? I'm guessing you don't count the last one as your spotter touched the bar?
anyway you rep, way more than my max bench!!! Awesome set.

But your squats is what i'm after. Thanks appreciate it, thinking once I'm 8-10 here i'll be in range of the 405 again. Just have stayed at 365 and below because of the the oddities i'm getting used too or trying to fix.

LOL, you must be thinking of someone else.

Your a 100#'s ahead of me right now. Just heading out to get them done today. Hopefully once I can get the bar off my neck some more i'll pick up some #'s..
And people please start using this thread, was such a inspiration in my past years seeing all the work being put in...
I've not posted anything up for sometime, I had a bad couple of years with various things but I feel I'm almost back to were I was.

Powerful
Added dips back in a few weeks back as well as tri's. Thinking this has helped move my bench as 390 went without issue this past friday. Today I did dips. Bum shoulder and all prob not the smartest, but it worked.

Started lifting! (again)..at the old age of 39.
My beer gut, skinny arms and joint pain finally got me motivated to do something.
So I bought a barbell and some weights.
Current program:
Overhead Press
Bicep Curls
Squats
Pushups
Situps
When I get through this week I'll add deadlifts..
I've been easing into it because of my age. I only added squats this week (2nd week).

39 is the new 70 it seems :D
You're not old by any standard and you have years and years of good workouts ahead of you. Although, you are as old as you feel :)
