Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Due to an incident that happened after watching this movie.
when i was 12, my friends and i watched the first two TCM movies. Once we finished watching them, we decided to go play some basketball outside. just so happened that day, at that same exact moment, as i grabbed the basketball from the side of my house, my neighbor started up his chainsaw to cut down firewood.
scared the absolute piss out of me. ran inside. didnt go back out the rest of the day. since then, ive watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original) every october.
The Shining. I was terrified for the longest time after I first saw this movie when I was younger.
The Last Exorcism is a favorite of mine for sure.

Hellraiser series. Might not be the scariest, but my favorite thriller series
Evil Dead 2
The tracking shots were really ahead of their time. It added a real sense of chase that was simultaneously full of both action and suspense.

EVL has great stuff, good luck to everyone entering.
Whole left sleeve is Evil Dead themed.

Pet Sematary 1989

I watched the 2019 Pet Sematary last year in October and liked the 1989 one better. Not too scary, yet alert enough to keep you awake
I saw Chucky as a kid because my family watched it. That doll gave me nightmares for months.
The original Halloween from 1978. Still gets me to this day!
FYI the isolate is delicious!

This wasn't the scariest movie ever when viewing it... but thinking that it could actually happen to anyone at anytime is terrifying. That keeps me up at night!
Edit--- the name of the movie is "The Strangers"
A couple of decent movies mentioned but I'm SHOCKED no one mentioned the BEST scary movie in my opinion
The Exorcist from 1973 and I don't think any horror movie can or will be able to match this one. If you've
never seen it then do yourself a favor and watch it but make sure you don't watch it in the dark.;)

YES the original Halloween is also one of my favorite and the fact that Michael never spoke and you only
heard breathing under that mask made it scarier and the music was the icing on the cake. I remember going
to see this movie as a kid in the theater by myself and when I left I was walking home turning my head to
make sure I wasn't being followed my Michael Myers.
In for support!
Poltergeist (i has like 5 when it came out)
Then there was this other movie... I dont know the name of it, but it was about some dudes wearing masks and they broke into an elementary school, raped the teacher, shot up a bunch of people...... man I need to find that movie now.... the scariest one was a guy with a knock off daffy duck mask on.... guess it creeped me out cause i was in elementary school at the time and it was more "realistic"
****ty description I know :(

this is what happened to me a while back
Now I check this section every day currently
Hopefully he saw my messages and my post ! lol
I'd have to go with The Exorcist. When I was ~9 I was trying to convince my dad that I was tough and wouldn't get scared, even though he warned me about the movie being scary. I remember watching about 15 minutes and had to stop after the part where she walks down the stairs and pees on the carpet, lol. I also slept in the basement and remember that for a good month I needed multiple night lights on in the room along with my TV :D
Edit: And yes, I realize the promo is done :D Just bored! lol
