Why's your budget so high? Are you following Visel's approved guidelines?
- If you have lots of debt outside of a mortgage. Drive solely vehicles worth $15k or less. Pay them off if debt is involved.
- If you're debt free, and below $200k net worth, your "vehicle sum total" (all vehicles combined) should not exceed 30% of your take home salary.
- If you're debt free, and above $200k net worth, your "vehicle sum total" (all vehicles combined) should not exceed 50% of your take home salary.
You must be rich OP I'm jealous. I'm still satisfied with my $19k-at-the-time '18 Camry.
those numbers are retarded. no way im spending that much on a car

Avoid Acura; have owned RL and ex had an MDX. Neither was worth the money...
BIL owns 2020 TRD Pro 4 Runner and it's a great vehicle but agree with Komytea - the interior, especially gages could stand updating!

The RX is a women's car. I'm not going to lie. I'd still drive it if I have to. The NX is pretty nice too.
One of the older suvs I like is the 2010 Acura MDX when it still had the beak corporate looking grill.
From what i understand the Lexus GX series is a better version of the 4 runner.
edit: specifically with quality of some parts...some say its a glorified 4runner but i dunno. i bet they make them slightly better quality.
No, the GX460 is basically a Land Cruiser Prado in a tuxedo. Not a 4Runner.
Similar to a 4Runner but vastly superior engine (4.6L V8 vs. 4.0L V6), smooth transmission (6 speed vs 5 speed), much more capable 4H / AWD / torsen diff vs plain part time 4x4 system with no locking front diff, more luxurious interior, same reliability, extensive aftermarket, etc.
And used GX460’s can be had for great bargains relative to the ludicrous Toyota tax people put on used 4Runners. You can get a MUCH nicer used GX460 for $40k than used 4Runner for $40K.

All of these that people are mentioning are ok but you should go drive them all before you buy. If you want a nicer driving car its either Mazda, Acura or Lexus. Mazda in my opinion and Acura drives more sporty than Lexus but neither will drive as tight as a German car.
You are going to find that 4Runners despite their reliability are not great to drive. They also tend to rust out as they age.
At one point I was considering a Lexus NX but no matter how far I put the seat back I cannot straighten my left leg, I am 6ft with a 32" inseam. I was also not impressed with the drive. It was ok but I was not in love with it.

i like the cx-5 but seeing all these soccer moms drive it would make me annoyed, its everywhere around here and i want something a bit different.

I didn't say that they sucked; I said, IME after owning one and my ex owning one that I drove, I think that they are overpriced for what you get AKA not worth the money...
YMMV of course so good luck with your decision!
Yeah the GX460 seem like great cars. Alot of white collared people drive them.
they are ugly to me though. the lexus interiors make me fee llike im in the 90's, and the gas is ass.
4 runner looks so much cooler. especially when u get rid of the trad toyota logo and just have "Toyota" in the front grill
you think? im looking at a 21' F-150 XL with 49k miles on it for 35,000. what u think about that?
You can get a brand new jeep gladiator for close to that. Paying a little extra for the sport S max toe is worth it though.
Higher quality components. Just stay away from the diesel. Get the V6 and hemi swap it later.

The Lexus spindle grill has been around long enough for people to tolerate. 90's interior and 2000's exteriors are goat. Simple and classy.

What's wrong with them is they are a rugged solid front axle 4x4 designed for rough terrain that soccer moms and male nurses buy and wonder why it drives so rough. It's a vehicle designed to throw a long travel suspension and 38" super swampers on and take down the Rubicon trail.

Idk why people suggest 4 runner unless you want something for offroad or on the more rugged side
If it's for commuting or a daily driver... it sucks on gas, it's slow, the trans is dogchit slow and searching for gears half the time you floor it, the infotainment is old and outdated, theres literally nothing good about it except for reliability and capability. Capability is not even necessary for most people.
And on top of that it's going to have a Toyota tax.
And let's be real, a 4 runner doesn't look bad ass unless it's lifted and built out, or at the very least a TRD pro model, which will be absurdly priced. A regular sr5 or whatever model it is, is just a soccer mom suv.
