Well played! :D
Whats a lockdown? Here nothing has changed aside from not being able to consume food in a restaurant. Stores all still open, went to walgreens and wally world Friday and they were both normal. Still working as somehow my job was declared essential, so nope not a damn thing different.

Basically the same here, except someone disinfects the handles and front part of the carts as you enter Costco and in some stores, there are bottles of hand sanitizer at the check out. There are no shortages of anything.

It means trouble if you even think about going to your mailbox.

As of today all non essential businesses are closed here in NY. Roads are dead, stores are closed, many furloughed or laid off. Schools have been closed all week with a tentative return of 4/14.
So every damn thing changed here.

We are on a state mandated lockdown until April 7 I believe. I knew it was coming in advance when I got my “essential person” travel letter. We just dropped off a 9 roll pack of toilet paper to my wife’s 90 yo grandparents. Disinfected it and instructed them to leave it in the garage until they need it - they were down to 1 roll. Still a lot more traffic than I’d expect. It’s like the democratically run states are trying to outdo each other in response. This thing will run its course one way or another. It will still be spread at grocery stores and everything else that is open. When the restrictions are lifted, I’d expect to see resurgence and increases of cases again. Although if we can keep the medical system from being overrun, people will have the best chance of survival in terms of availability of supportive therapy.

Yup! Most people I know are locking down even though it hasn't been ordered. It has to be locked down sooner or later. Lets do it and get this show on the road. It can only help.
Here in VA Asian markets have everything- meat, veggies, eggs and even toilet paper. I don’t go crazy - get stuff for my family for a week in a local store and relax :)
If so i will go there.

What about pharmacy and grocery store?
What about pharmacy and grocery store?
Considered essential here.
What about pharmacy and grocery store?
Yeah, pharmacy and grocery stores will remain open, as will some drive-thrus. Everything else has to close. You can also walk outside for exercise, so not sure how they can enforce the shelter-in-place orders, but maybe the overall message that "we are getting serious" might prompt greater compliance.
Sunny day so I had a beer with my neighbor, he sat on his porch and I sat on mine, we had to speak at high volume as our porches are 16 feet apart, but it was a nice chat. That was pretty much the extent of my outside contact today.
I think I might be good at this, just becuase I love to stay at home doing projects way more than dealing with people.
Mt pockets, some of us are anti social and don’t go anywhere anyway, except a gym, and then there’s the grocery store where everyone is close to one another, do that in NY and get civil fines?
Double kiss my ass, pucker up Mr. Clean!!!
Jt, this is me pal, Internet or not!
Several hundred cases in my state, handful of deaths, don’t expect to go to a gym in 2 months. Wil post vids for you guys, too bad Bandi can’t watchie!

Closed: Bars - Clubs - Places Of Worship - Cinemas - Gyms - Nightclubs - Indoor Sporting Venues
Take away only: Restaurants + Cafes
Open: Schools + Daycare + Supermarkets + Shopping Centres + Factories + Most Other Workplaces. Some workplaces are making close to 50% of the workforce work from home. There are rapid changes happening over a short period because some people choose to ignore how serious the situation is, putting others and themselves at risk.
I hope you are staying safe :)
My wife is in 14 day quarantine because she came in contact with a coworker who tested positive, however my wife never touched her. My wife went to the hospital (strictly our of fear) and they turned her away and told her to quarantine herself for 14 days and if she gets a high fever, dry cough and has trouble breathing to go back immediately. So far its been 5 days and she is OK.
Myself I am bored out of my mind, been working from home and working out at home as well, but running out of things to do to entertain myself NYC has mandated 100% of people to work from home and only essential workers are to go to work.
We are 100% fully stacked with everything we need for the next month (and then some) if needed.
Stay safe out there my OV35 peeps!

Good luck to you both, just FYI your wife didn't have to touch her to get the virus. this virus can remain airborne for quite some time and can survive on surfaces, mail etc.. for quite a while.
Stay Safe

According to the CDC (at least last I heard) it is not airborne, but definitely can live on surfaces, longer times on certain surfaces like metal.

A sneeze or cough and its in the air
The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.
Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

No fines for going to the grocery stores here in NY. Pharmacy either. Stopped at Trader Joes Saturday and they had a line outside that you had to wait in like a night club. Only 20 total in the store at a time and every 3rd register open.
My governor is allowing booze for take out or delivery. :D :D :D
Yesterday he officially shut down all restaurant dining. Most were already doing just take out and delivery options. Alcohol restrictions have now been temporarily lifted to help the economy.

Dude on my local ******** Yard sale page is selling his still and offering to make more for $75. I am pretty sure that he does not posses the necessary state and federal licenses for the production of Ethanol.
But that is none of my business.
I'm thinking Moonshiners are in more demand in times like this.

The other day I learned Italy has laws for the crime of "causing an epidemic". It was put in place in 1930 for "Typhoid Mary" kind of cases and since at the time Italy still had the death penalty, it was punished with the death penalty. When the death penalty was removed, it was punished with life in prison, and today it carries 12 years in prison. It's what they are contemplating applying over there to people who still go out walk their dog and chit.
Let me repeat: you are better off breaking into your neighbor's home, stealing their chit and raping their daughter than walking your dog. If this isn't a big WTF I don't know what is.
