It's interesting to see people in Hong Kong raising American flags and praising our nation's intrinsic defenses against the government like the second amendment, yet people actively trying (or should I say, demanding) to be handed citizenship are never seen doing anything remotely similar, being patently ignorant of the importance of these American values.
Anyhow, there has been far too much global passivity as the Chinese regime has been allowed to go unchallenged no matter how many lines they cross, sometimes being outright praised by the global community, e.g. thin promises in regards to climate change. The world needs to keep a close eye on China, what the government does in respect to Hong Kong, and grow a pair of balls for the sake of the Chinese people.
I thought Hollywood hated Fascism/dictators? Wheres their outrage??
They're too busy living up that sweating, indecisive button pressing meme between condemning China's abhorrent behaviors and siding with them in order to oppose Trump.
This is all while they are still trying to paint Trump as worse than Hitler while the current-fukking Chinese government is engaging in censorship, persecution, re-education, mass surveillance, and all manners of tyranny against their own people.
*Although I'm sure that sweet, sweet Chinese movie market isn't also playing a part in their silence.

Define democracy without the use of racial terms.

Funny thing. The US isn't, and has never been a democracy.
We do enjoy our Constitutionally protected freedoms though.

Nah I love a democratic republic. With representation of the people, and our Constitution. Also love to see others fighting to win their freedoms.

Really curious to see what happens, this is a big test for China.

Trump should’ve stepped in by now. These people are real patriots.

He also tweeted earlier on Tuesday: “Many are blaming me, and the United States, for the problems going on in Hong Kong. I can’t imagine why?”
Chinese state media ups ante over Hong Kong 'mobsters'

Chinese state media have ramped up the rhetoric against Hong Kong's pro-democracy campaigners, describing them on Tuesday as "mobsters", warning they must never be appeased and raising the spectre of mainland security forces intervening to quash them.
On Monday, Beijing described unrest and clashes in Hong Kong -- which started as opposition to a proposed extradition law but morphed into calls for democratic reform -- as "terrorism emerging".
Chinese state media has repeatedly issued harsh criticism of the protests, which are the biggest threat to Beijing's rule in the semi-autonomous city since the handover in 1997.
The official state news agency Xinhua warned in a commentary Tuesday that "violent radicals" were pushing Hong Kong into an "abyss" and warned there should be no compromise to their demands.
"Any connivance or support for the mobsters, any appeasement of them, or sophistry and excuses for them are an insult and defamation of the Hong Kong police force guarding their homeland," the commentary said, adding that the unrest posed "great harm to Hong Kong's overall interests".
The nationalistic tabloid The Global Times said the "most extreme demonstrators have been attacking the police and using increasingly dangerous weapons".
"Their hysterical purpose is to paralyse the SAR government and combat the authority of the police," the newspaper said in a commentary.
On its nightly news broadcast on Monday evening, state broadcaster CCTV called the protests "extreme acts of violence (which are) tantamount to blatant murder".
"Those Hong Kong chaotic elements are a sludgy, muddy water in the historical torrent, which will be cleaned up," the news anchor said.
In a video posted on its Weibo channel, a CCTV anchor warned viewers: "When dealing with terrorism, there is no soft hand."
The stern words came as videos were widely circulating on social media of Chinese military and armoured vehicles appearing to gather in the southern city of Shenzhen.
The Global Times and the People's Daily ran a minute-long video compiling clips of armoured personnel carriers and troop carriers purportedly driving to Shenzhen, which borders Hong Kong.
The video shows roughly two dozen armoured carriers apparently driving through the southern city of Guangzhou and other troop carriers leaving eastern Fujian province.
Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of the state-run Global Times, said on social media that the military presence is a sign that if the situation in Hong Kong doesn't improve, China will intervene.
"If the violent elements in Hong Kong do not understand this principle and fail to see the signal of the gathering of armed police in Shenzhen, their actions will be self-destructive," he wrote on Weibo, saying it was "easy for the state to smash the set of thugs" in Hong Kong.
"If they do not pull back from the cliff and continue to push the situation further beyond the critical point, the power of the state may come to Hong Kong at any time."

Trump just launched another round of tariffs on China. It now has less incentive to play nice with Hong Kong and more likely to deploy PLA to get the situation resolved quickly?
China accuses G7 countries of ‘meddling’ in Hong Kong affairs
Beijing has condemned “irresponsible comments” by the G7 leaders, who made reference to Hong Kong in a joint statement at the end of their three-day meeting in southwestern France.
China also accused the leaders of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the US of having “ulterior motives” and of meddling in Hong Kong affairs, after they expressed “deep concern” about the situation in the city.
The joint statement, issued after the meeting in Biarritz on Monday, said: “The G7 reaffirms the existence and the importance of the 1984 Sino-British agreement on Hong Kong and calls for avoiding violence.”
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, China’s foreign affairs spokesman Geng Shuang said Hong Kong was an internal matter for China and foreign nations had no right to interfere.
“We will handle our own affairs and we will ask the members of the G7 countries not to harbour evil intentions, mind other people’s business nor continue its sinister plot,” Geng said.
“Regarding the Sino-British Joint Declaration, I would like to stress once again that the ultimate purpose and core content of the joint declaration is to confirm that China will resume its sovereignty over Hong Kong.
“No country or organisation has the right to intervene in Hong Kong affairs by making use of the Sino-British Joint Declaration,” he said.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the G7 countries had “expressed, collectively, deep concern about what is happening in Hong Kong,” adding that the leaders remained “collectively committed to the ‘one country, two systems’ framework.”
Britain’s foreign secretary Dominic Raab had earlier called on China to respect peaceful protest in Hong Kong.

I generally support democratic revolutions but the HK protests are legit retarded and the anger is wrongly targeted.
HK itself is facing economic insecurity with 20% of its population in poverty, CHIT TIER housing with sky high prices.
HK's greatest achievement was it's luck, serving as a middleman for foreign investment into China. An economy based on service industries (Banking, consulting, etc.), will only thrive IF they have a market to serve. HK was prosperous in the 90s and early 2000s, especially when chinese companies were IPO'd under HKEX. M&A was never a strong point for HK as domestic chinese banks generally handled the bulk of that. IPOs have slowed down.
HK prospered when Deng opened up China, but obviously it didn't last. China now has Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou as major financial centers. Where will HK serve now?
South Asia? - dominated by Indian banks
South east asia? - heavily dominated by Singapore with Jakarta, Manila, and Kuala Lumpur as its own regional bases
Korea? - South Korea
Japan - lmao
So say China grants HK its independence, what then, what leverage does HK have to keep these agreements with the CCP?
-HK relies on China for agriculture and food (70% of its freshwater is from mainland china)
-HK relies on China for more than half its energy needs
-HK's tourism industry relies on mainland Chinese tourists to generate billions each year

The protests have escalated beyond that now. Since everyone is now mobilized, people feel now is their only possible moment to keep Hong Kong separate from China and the impending annexation in 2047. China's best bet is to let the protestors get bored like the ones in Venezuela did a few years back. The only one that is losing from these protests is Hong Kong after all.
-
Beijings involvement looks less likely.
They told the HK chief: It's your problem. You fix it. Running away doesn't fix anything.
And, I'm busy with my mistress.
-
Sheit.. So they still protest now after the bill about extradition was withdrawn? Seems like a major victory and slap in the face of China. But protests still going on? China pussied out majorly. Amazing stuff. Hong Kong protesters waving American flags and wearing MAGA hats beat China and corrupt Hong Kong officials. CIA involved maybe?

I was told nothing ever happened at Tiananmen Square in the first place...
Never heard about these prisons and genocides. Although I'm not surprised. Seeing those people holding American flags and saying they need the 2A is chilling. I feel very fortunate to live where I live and have the rights and liberties I have.
Never forget that the right to self-preservation is a natural right.
i've been following this since the beginning. these people asking for 2A are nitwits. the only reason why no one has died is because no one is shooting anyone. 2A may have its place in the states, but you can't just introduce guns to a place with citizens who have no idea how to handle a gun.
this whole thing started with the extradition bill because someone in HK murdered his gf in taiwan, came back to hk and is now off the hook because hk doesn't extradite.
while i agree with the protest in spirit and was on board, the moment the govt reconsidered and backed off like a month ago, the protesters saw the attention they were getting and demanded even more. now that the bill is officially announced as dead, they aren't backing off and even added more to their demands, including releasing all the rioters and demanding a re-rewrite to their own constitution. literally burning their own city down at the moment and pleading with the the UK govt cucks to allow them citizenship. lmao.
i liken this to BLM a few years ago where it just devolved into low IQs protesting and destroying their own cities for the sake of it. the key difference is no one is dead and the cops so far has been fairly lenient to the protesters...no matter what you hear from msm.
