Expensive Casein Worth the Price Premium? Pls advise

Personally, I really like casein and feel that it gives me better resuts than whey (research comparing whey vs casein head to head also seems to confirm this, albeit it is open to interpretation). However, there is a huge price difference between difference types of casein.

Below are some prices from a famous protein supplier on the net. (th p....n factory) These are per lbs prices

Aussie Caseinate $5.99
Hydrolyzed Caseinate 360 $15.89
Micellar Casein $10.79

Huge difference ah? What do you guys think? Are different casein powders from the same manufacturer really so different as to justify the price difference?

milk and flax oil for a homemade slow digesting protein cheaper and works GOOD!!!

The Hydrolyzed 360 is basically a "fast" digesting protein. In fact, it's more like whey than whey. The Aussie caseinate is more like a calcium caseinate so that's why is not that expensive. The Micellar is top-of-the-line and really does have the best profile of all the caseinates. You want the best, you pay the most...that's just the way it is. I buy protein from that factory too. ;) I got a blend of the Aussie, the Micellar and a milk isolate with some glutamine peptides and I use it as a night time shake.

why not milk protein isolate since its 75% casein and like half the price....

Milk & Flax Seed at night should suffice.

I think protein factory has a good price on their casein...:cool:

some say that milk and flax oil is good enough as a slow digesting protein? do you guys mean

a) just skim milk + flax oil
b) milk powder + flax oil
c) milk protein powder + flax oil

a and b have sh..loads of extra calories from lactose and would be a very bad idea unless you are on a heavy duty bulking diet. Besides the flax does not slow down absorption nearly as much as one may think. Milk by itself is a very fast acting food.
