Yea NYC is pricey for food.
Unless you hit up them pizza by the slice places.
When I was there I found a nice place in Little Italy that had lunch specials and the portions were awesome and it was like 10 bucks a person.
Pizza by the slice costs me more. That ish ends up more like $18 easy, since I need like 4 slices with stuff on them. LoL.
-
We have a few salad places here that can easily get up to $16. The base is usually $8 with a limit on selection but when you add in things like chicken or shrimp, it soars.

Right? Then you also have to toss in ish like bags of chips and what not.

yea salad is just as much, if not more than most meals at places.
The problem is that you need to be asian to keep your hair. Duh.
White as can be. Still has all his hair crew. *knock on wood*
Wifey started complaining about my beard, so it got cut on Friday. Instantly regretted cutting it off.

and it's funny cause salad overhead cost is so minimal. Just spent $14 on a shawarma salad myself. Granted, they load on a good amount of chicken at this place.

If it's good shawarma it's worth it :)
I usually bring lunch with me but if I go out, it's usually for sushi. About to eat some right now.

Fuk that. Would just bring food from home into work with prices like that. Then splurge on a big meal at the end of the week(fancy steak/burger)

It is really good Shawarma, so once a week I don't mind. But i'm like you, typically bring my lunch. Consumer society gets milked. I usually just make sure there's enough dinner made for me to pack lunch with the left over. Healthy and low cost/effort.

Stay strong, don't be like me!

Sadly my asian genetics does not allow me to grow a beard. I would love to be able to grow a beard just so that I can get a beard trim at the barbershop.
-
A beard trim at the barber shop is one of the greatest things in life.
Straight razor to line up, the trimming with either scissors, clippers or both.

Yup, looks it. I'm always super envious of the guys with beards coming into the shop I go to getting a haircut and beard trim.

Decided to switch from sumo to conventional for this cycle. Man, it's a drop for me. So much better sumo. Figured it might be worthwhile to do two or three 5/3/1 cycles conventional though.
-
Anyone have a day where your main lift just seems off? I was mildly short on sleep when I hit the gym today. Had some grub about 2 hours prior... standard PWO, Warm up, etc. 5/3/1 cycle called for 5+ of 290 on the trap bar deadlift. Needed to hit 10 for PR.
I hit 5... and was gassed.
Previous workout I hit 295 8 times... was really hoping to keep breaking higher... just chalk it up to an off day?

Funny you mention that, I was considering the same for this next cycle. Always good to train different stances; carryover seems to be quite strong. MY conventional isn't too far off from my sumo for singles, but I do have a hard time repping with conventional the way I can on sumo.

Ya man, don't beat yourself up. Off days happen. My last deadlift days before my break last week was bad as well. Some days the stars just don't align. Everything just seems off.

Thanks man I figured as much

So, it sounds like you guys think 'the best bar ever' is legit excellent? Which ones do you go back for?

Absolutely man. Those off days suck but they happen and it's so many factors that need to work together to ensure you have good workouts. Need to be on point with your sleep, not feel too stressed and rush things, and of course eating must be on point.
Coming off my 5 day vacation, I ended up being on the go pretty much the entire time except for Sunday. This affected my eating most of all and forced me to rush one of my workouts. I do upper/lower, so multiple big lifts per session. Bench press and dips suffered on my upper day but then I hit that deadlift PR and a couple others.
If you're worn out, take some days off and rest. I did that 2ish weeks ago, Ben did it last week. If it's just one day off and you're not feeling this way multiple times a week, then keep pushing bro!

cellucor cor sport protein bar in chocolate peanut butter: yay or nay on the flavor? seen a solid deal on it but wanted to see how it tasted for those that have had it
-
We were in NYC a few weeks back (my wife, my daughter, my son and my daughter's boyfriend) and we each got 2 slices of pizza for dinner with a soda and my bill was $62. And this was just to carry the two slices away from the stand and eat while walking.
I couldn't imagine living up there, food would cost me a FORTUNE. The only saving grace for me was I packed some things and McDonald's in Times Square had a value menu. I hated eating that stuff the entire time, but honestly it was quick and they didn't complete bend me over and rape me there. But my word ...

Much better bar IMO for the price area.

Yup! Figured it was time to switch it up :)
Also just realized Re1gn ships Friday! Trying to decide if I want to go back and order two more (only got two)...but I have a crapload of pres right now.
